UPDATED: KNBR Host Should Be Suspended (Now Fired) For Stupidity; Check Please Melba Toast; KCBS: Stick To Being KCBS; Wednesday Open

Image result for san francisco silhouette 2017 YES, I HEARD ALL ABOUT THE COMMOTION --I've purposefully stayed away from this stupid act by a moron whom I've called out before. He's never been my cup of tea; I've found him to be a jerk and this latest buffoonery confirms that opinion.

KNBR has suspended him indefinitely.

(UPDATE from SJ MERC's Chuck Barney:) Radio host Patrick Connor, known as P-Con by many KNBR listeners, has been dismissed by the Bay Area station following his remarks about Chloe Kim.

Says KNBR Program director Jeremiah Crowe: “Be advised that Patrick Connor is no longer with Cumulus Media. Neither KNBR, nor Cumulus Media condone the comments made by Patrick Connor on his SiriusXM program.”

The remark about Chloe Kim is bad enough.

In today's world, really, he should be suspended for stupidity.

*Always bright to ogle a 17 year-old Olympian woman on the airwaves.

*Again, love the concept of local, original programming; "Check Please" on KQED looks like the kind of formulaic dreck you'd watch on the Travel Channel. There's not an ounce of originality on it. It's banal and innocuous with stupid music to boot. The idea of people sitting at a fake dinner table drinking fake wine and small talk over their dinner experience doesn't move the needle for me.

*You want a far more telling element to the KNBR bozo's action is that none of the other guys on the station, NONE, said a word about him. Yeah, technically, he didn't say it on KNBR's air but he's identified with The Bleeder.

*KCBS is beginning to sound like its management is beginning to faze in, slowly, a new pattern of anchors chit-chatting and giggling; it's not an act of war and it won't scare the children but its a sudden shift away from what KCBS does best: provide good, quick, reporting, especially in the event of breaking news. It should stick to that brand and 86 the orchestrated chatter most people find completely unnecessary and lousy radio.

  1. You know Rich, people forget that although the totally hot Chloe Kim is only 17 years old, that she is legal in most states of this country, which have the age of consent at 16 years of age, including the closest state to us, Nevada. While I agree though, that he probably should have waited to say what he did until she turned 18, still, I really don't think it was as big of a deal as it has been made to be. Heck, I live one block from a high school, and if you were to just sit out here and watch the girls walk by on their way to school, you would be shocked to see what high school girls today look like! They are certainly not the high school girls of days gone by, that is for sure! And believe me, they are WAY beyond their years in knowing the ways of the world, so to speak, so I think this was just one of those issues that shouldn''t have been made an issue at all....

    2. There is no self-respecting woman on this planet, whatever age, who wants to be considered or called a "sweet piece of @ss," or whatever it was he called her -- she's still a child, so it is especially disturbing. He needs professional help and so does 12:31.

    3. She's 18 in exactly 2 months. If he had said it then, not a peep. Now? Oh the outrage!!! Hypocrisy at its finest.

    4. Oh, excuse me! Does something magical happen to a young lady when she turns 18 that makes it exciting, flattering, and ok to be called a "piece of ass?" I doubt it, and only a slime would think so.

    5. 6:47 You obviously are far removed from your teenage years. So much hypocrisy. I love the "moral" outrage too. Its the latest fad by SJW's.

Are you completely unaware of the lengths women go to to catch a mans eye or "snag a husband"? Unbelievable.

    7. I was the one who posted the first comment. I wish I could put a name on it, but there aren't any choices which I can use, other than the choice in the box of "anonymous". And really, I didn't say anything that was really wrong. The only people who objected were the "politically correct" people who never agree with anything anyway. And again, just look at the average high school girl today, and you will be shocked at what they wear to school. I have seen them dressed in high heels on a daily basis, looking like they were ready to go clubbing. They are made up with false eyelashes, etc, and if they were anywhere else but on the way to school anyone would think they were beyond their years. heck, just yesterday, on CBSN live news, a reporter stopped a couple of girls who had just left the school down in FL where the shooting occurred. He was interviewing this girl, who had full makeup on, with eyeliner, full lips, etc, and talked very eloquently especially for a seemingly high school girl. towards the end of the interview, it became apparent that the girl was NOT actually a student at the high school, but the MIDDLE SCHOOL next door! They had been on lockdown ever since the shooting occurred next door. The reporter was obviously shocked at discovering she was only a middle school student, and he asked her age. She responded that she was ELEVEN![11] The reporter then thanked her for talking and she left. The reporter was clearly shocked that the girl was only 11. Heck, I was too, as with only a head shot by the cameraman, she clearly appeared to be a lot older than she was. Regarding Chloe Kim, she is only a couple of months short of being 18. She could also easily emancipate herself too, which would also make her legal status, even though she is under 18 technically. I still say she is a hottie...

    8. Blame the victim. Because she is pretty? It's so convenient, isn't it? Your justification that she is only two months away from being "legal" is so lame. If you want to call your wife or girlfriend a hot piece of ass in private, and she doesn't object, fine. But referring to random women in that manner, particularly those who are underage -- despite what you see and here in rap crap -- is disrespectful and demoralizing to all women. Did your mothers not teach you that? I suspect your generation needs weed, sperm banks, invitro fertilization, gay and lesbian relationships, single-parent households, and porn for a reason. Sexually you're dysfunctional and considering your women as "pieces of ass" may be why. Would you want someone to call your sister or your mother a "hot piece of ass?" You're disgusting to even be thinking of women in that respect. Excuse me for saying so!

    9. She is not even pretty. Good lord. Take away the brown hair, give her back her natural black hair, and she looks like every woman on my street in the city of Cupertino.

    3. From what I've heard I believe his father was an alum of Alabama or went back to live there. Alot to do with the university? But PCon has mentioned high school a few times and I believe that's the program at Cupertino High School or Homestead High in Santa Clara. Either way, much ado about nothing. This all reeks of the Krueger incident.

  16. Put aside what’s going on with #metoo and political correctness right now - Patrick Conner, or any on-air personality for that matter, was appropriately let go whether this happened
    In 2018 or 2014, 2010 - it’s creepy and wrong.
A boorish middle-aged man calling a super-talented giirl, who just happened to become
the most popular female athlete in America the day before a “hot piece of ass” is beyond tasteless, it’s disturbing. It was also very dumb,. the only thing the guy did that was dumber than making the comment was trying to defend it by calling out Deadspin. Good riddance.

  19. Don't Just Blame P-Con:
Last year, ESPN dropped Barstool Sports' TV show (P-Con's show) after one episode, after ESPN anchor Samantha Ponder tweeted screenshots from Barstool articles published three years earlier that made sexist remarks about her. In January, Barstool CEO Erika Nardini countered calls of sexism against her company. "This is a company that intentionally is not PC," Nardini said. "At our core, our guys do things that are funny and that's what I'm focused on and that's what I believe in."
    And this from a WOMAN! - WHAT A F -------HYPOCRITICAL B-----!!!!!

  24. Of course Connor should be fired and also the managers who hired him. If the managers couldn't figure out that Connor was stupid then management must be stupid too.

  27. OK, all you people who are politically correct! I still say this is a minor thing to have referred to Chloe Kim as hot piece of ass. Ok, I admit that it was a little crass, and maybe not the nicest way to refer to her, but still, it is nothing that isn't heard everyday on the tv, in music and on youtube. But, what I want to mention here now, is the recent and new Sports Illustrated cover that has garnered a lot of attention, as it usually does. Inside, you will see that Aly Raisman, one of the gymnasts who testified against that Nassar fool, has posed in the nude. Am I the only one who thinks this is the height of hypocrisy? I mean, she testified that her being molested hurt her, and now she poses nude. Yeah, that follows all right...

    ReplyDelete

    1. You are a moron. Posing nude was her choice, Nassar’s finger in her vagina was not a choice.

  29. My, how times have changed.
Back in the 1960s I once said the "where the hell is it" as I looked for the copy on a back to back live spot. I forgot to pot down the mike as a station ID bridge played. The radio station phones lit up. I sweated...would I lose my first phone license? Lose my job?

Nothing untoward happened. But, later in the show I answered a phone call from a listener who asked me, "by the way, did you ever find what you were looking for?"

    Good times!
