Christina Loren seems to be content do the weather for RFD-TV; underline seems but two Bay Area TV stations, one definitely that would love to have this splendor back on the air, is about to make a push for her services. You would think KTVU seems ok in that department but think again. Remember, Fox likes a certain brand.
Christina Loren |
I know she loves the Bay Area (look outside the window now) but there's a few things to work out. Money isn't an issue in San Jose; same situation in Oakland; a battle royal looms over a smart, beautiful, weather personality that is lovely to observe on the screen but I dunno, there's too much complications to make this deal happen. If I had to guess, bet on San Jose. But don't underestimate the Foxies either. Let the negotiations begin!
*If you loved the Super Bowl I'll bet you a pastrami on rye (mustard only) KNTV loved it even more; they made a fortune on local ads and their salespeople had some nice February cash to
celebrate.
Ben Fong-Torres |
*Did you catch that vacuous piece of "journalism" in Sunday's pinkie by Ben Fong-Torres? Ronn Owens BS is a Chronicle specialty; hey, BFT, you said Owens defended Cumulus in the article but why not a follow-up?
Like, say, "Ronn, in hindsight, do you regret the way you handled it on the air the next day?"
Instead, just another puff piece from Ben, and more Owens' BS spin.
Neda Iranpour |
I immediately turn off the radio when it comes to the weather segment each time I listen to KCNS radio til afternoon hours when the "good morning" or "hello" voice comes. The best weather anchor I must agree with is Sandya Patel, great looks, professional and great weather newscast.
ReplyDeleteAgreed, Sandra Patel is my favorite.
DeleteKari Hall does a good job and should stay. Christina Loren was more eye candy and was mediocre as a weathercaster.
I dont know why- but Heather last night looked upset the whole newscast-or what I saw of it. Her and Christina on the same news set? Oof- who stays in their lane and who's lane is it to begin with?
ReplyDeleteI think the one who got their first might not be so welcoming.
here's what weed makes you think of: the media whirl the media world- where Kawakami is your mommi and Lieberman is your leasure. where Radnich says ''GOODBYE !!'' and heather makes (made?) you high .where Covay takes a Puff but says he don't smoke that stuff.where Townie is a man about Town and Hoffar makes you Shut it Down.
ReplyDeleteWho left the back door open @ ba.broadcast ?
DeleteI'm fine with Iranpour's voice. It's distinctive and her own. I must admit, I don't watch KPIX news much and often miss the morning to noon-time news broadcasts.
ReplyDeleteI love her voice. Your crazy, Rich.
DeleteNot if you have to listen everyday. She needs to see an ear, nose and throat specialist.
DeleteChristina Loren is Foxy - nothing more need be said. She is what she is.
ReplyDeletehmmm.. what's the difference? It's supposed to be an insult to call a woman a "dog", but a compliment to call her a "fox".. ?? think about it.
DeleteShe's a wabbit, and it's wabbit season...
DeleteBen Fong-Torres is a big bag of wind. I sent him a few emails
ReplyDeletere: information on the Chinese New Year Parade. I used the
email address at the bottom of his Chron column, but NEVER got
a response. I then shifted gears and came up with another
story for my column in our little neighborhood newspaper.
Benny Fong thinks he's the best thing to hit a newspaper. He's smug, pompous and because he worked for Rolling Stone Magazine, he thinks his s@@@ don't stink. His columns are a waste of newsprint and people's internet time. They say nothing. Take a college kid who knows squat about radio and he/she will do a better job. Benny thinks so highly of himself that he has to buy replacement key for the letter "I" because he always refers to himself in everything he writes. Since when did he become the Chosen One? Who does he know? What does he know -- he shows his ignorance every time he writes Radio Waves. I wonder how much the Comical pays him to write pablum twice a month or so. Hope it's not much. It's not worth much for sure.
DeleteBen Fong Torres is living in the past.
DeleteHe still thinks it is 1973 and he is following rock musicians.
We have sad news for Fong-Torres, time marched on and he never saw it coming.
Rich, if San Jose brings back Loren, what happens to Kari Hall? She comes across as a nice person who is about doimg her job, not there to make love to the camera. Should i be losing sleep over this matter. Loren is a class A clown. Looks mean nothing to me. Just give it to me straight. I can handle it.
ReplyDeleteKari Hall is a class act. Keep her.
DeleteRich, it's just her voice from birth!!
ReplyDeleteThen, she needs voice lessons!
DeleteCan we all just leave Nada alone, please. She's doing a nice job in the a.m. Her voice is a bit off, but she's much better than Robbie.
ReplyDeleteI like it..its a few whiskey and cigarette fun time girl with heart of gold to it.
DeleteNeda.
DeleteCan we all just leave Nada alone, please. She's doing a nice job in the a.m. Her voice is a bit off, but she's much better than Robbie.
ReplyDeleteRich, you said you only criticize and hate on journalists' work but here you are body shaming Neda's voice. The fuck is wrong with you?
ReplyDeleteHeather is being setup the in the same way as Tori Campbell. Heather reported a junk science, completely unbelievable story about cellphone radiation today without batting an eyelash. I would think, if you had a brain in your head, you would put the brakes on and insist that someone verify the information before you would repeat it. She is on the La Monte and Tonelli "favored people list" and the connection seems to point to a 107.7 The Bone DJ who resigned on air. Someone is determined, perhaps rightly perhaps wrongly, to get these individuals out of the picture.
ReplyDeleteHeather is pushing some kind of private agenda with her news "distortion."
DeleteReading that BFT article from the link - what a joke! The writer doesn't address any issue whatsoever. He lets Owens and Anthony dictate and mold the message. He knows people are furious with them, cumulus, what they've done to kgo and all the other stations. And it is LOL time when Anthony says they're losing audience and they have to figure it out. Gee, could it be that your company is the reason you lost that audience.!? Your incompetence? You being out of your league? You and your friends' total mis-management, ineptitude, and corporate squalor? Until Anthony, Twittmayer, Crowe and the McVays of that world are dumped into trash bin forever will there ever be a slight chance for rectitude.
ReplyDeleteAgree. Oh, so agree. Ben is phoning it in these days. I swear everything on the page is so clearly news release based and all he does - maybe, but maybe not - is check to confirm the quotes. Reportage? On the SF Bay radio world? Where? Not there. Here with Rich, yes. I'd guess Ben doesn't want to do the work anymore but likes the check and seeing his name in The Pink. It's time for someone new.
DeleteBennie is living off his past, whatever that means. One of the worst columnists in the Pink section. He says nothing. That whole newspaper says nothing too. Waste of natural resources.
DeleteAre these the same people that hate on Dion Lim's voice??? Be honest!
ReplyDelete*...there's too much complications to make this deal happen."
ReplyDeletethere's too much complications? really?
Loren looks about 50lbs heavier in that picture than the picture of her that you posted on 2/4.
ReplyDeleteYou need to turn on RFD Rich and watch a segment. Grooming standards seems to be different on America's Rural Voice. Times have changed.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone noticed the absence of Rosemary and Mark this week at noon, 4 and 7pm on KTVU? Could they be making room for Christina?
