Former Bay Area Meteorologist Jim Bernard Passes Away; KRON and KPIX Stints

Image result for Jim Bernard KPIX Jim Bernard, a former KRON and KPIX meteorologist, passed away Tuesday. He was 64. The cause of death is unknown.

Bernard retired in 2012.

He worked in the Bay Area in the early 2000's mostly doing fill-in work.

His last gig was at KIEM-TV in the North Coast.

Funeral services are pending.

  2. I remember Jim Bernard doing the weekend weather on KPIX morning news. Very professional.

  4. That's so sad- he was likable guy. As I recall he once showed photos of his young self,and Jim was a long haired hippy type. So,I can see that type as retiring to old hippy land.

  5. He was our weatherman for 25 years in Eureka, as well as an FAA air traffic controller. It was nice seeing him do weekends in a big market. On a local station tribute, they had mentioned he flew his plane down to do the weekend weather on KRON then KPIX.
