Gonzales was able to last over two decades in this #6 market and she deserves plaudits for that alone.
Her folksy talk and demeanor made her a favorite with PTA moms and her look was a hit with many middle-aged men who had a fondness for her attractive, exotic, appearance.
I was a big Roberta fan initially and supported her against a News Director that hated her and her shtick which morphed into outright "Miss
That said, I wish her all the best.

She's been out of the office a lot lately --dealing with the recent Heather Ishimaru settlement --which Watkowski was at the scene of the crime, front and center. Word on the street is Disney/ABC is less than thrilled with Watkowski's involvement in the matter, not to mention its having to pay millions of dollars for a settlement that was mostly favorable to the plaintiff.
In addition, a Watkowski ally, Rebecca Campbell, recently left an ABC O and O management gig to take a bigger job with Disney and that certainly won't help Watkowski. I'll be watching and waiting.
So are the ABC suits gone? Any other departments affected that you know of?

DeleteHere's another Disney story. We spent a week at the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim back in April, at an IBM convention. One day, they had taken down the coffee bar and I was thirsty so I headed for the bar next to the entrance to the steakhouse and ordered a mocha. Got into a conversation with the bar tender (great coffee) and a young lady who was working her way through nursing school. Disney is a stable employer and they have benefits for most of their people but when they want something they expect it NOW. If Tracey is costing them what everyone here says, there's no way in hell she sticks around. I'm sure someone's already packing her office.

I didn't realize it was all bullshit till my 30's and a court appointed therapist found I had an "unhealthy desire" for TV Weather Mavens.

DeleteRoberta leaving.....finally. Now we won't have to listen to how she's run 600 marathons, competed in 4,000 ironmans. She's chunky and the spanx aren't working anymore. She has to enter the screen at an angle to hide her belly. Put that Neda Iranpour on as she was pretty good as a fill in.

DeleteLet us know if Tracey is officially gone baby gone in BIG WORDS if it really happens. Just pray someone will at least do some major changes to the morning crew with the current reporters. My dream choice, Eric Thomas and Jessica Castro as main morning anchors. The other two, go back to outside reporting to gain experience.
