We have egg on our face today (Wednesday)
A normally reliable contact gave me a tip about "Amy G" leaving her duties as the Giants field reporter for Comcast and "headed back east to Stamford, CT."
The tip turned out to be wrong for which I profoundly apologize to Ms. Gutierrez, Comcast, and the SF Giants.
415 Media strives to get it first but first, we got to get it right. 415 Media regrets the mistake and will work harder to check our sources before publishing content.
You should apologize for getting everybody's hopes up.
ReplyDeleteVery classy and refreshing move.I cant remember a member of the local media owing up to their errors.
ReplyDeleteWith this blog, Rich gave up the fact that he is a member of the media. He most certainly isn't. That said, it's nice to see him hold himself to a higher standard than most practicing the craft in this market.
DeleteBang Ding Ow.
My entire family is disappointed.
ReplyDeleteIt happens!
ReplyDeleteI agree. That's disappointing news but it also proves she's not qualified to be at NBC
ReplyDeleteI for one think Amy G does a good job. Nothing to do with her physical appearance, but she did a credible job during this year's playoffs.
ReplyDeleteI thought she was cute when I first saw her. Now she's aging like the rest of us. :)
Delete@1:52
Delete"Cute" is for rabbits and puppies, not adult women. Though you're clearly too immature to admit it, Amy looks great, regardless of her age.
It's refreshing to see someone own their mistake. Perhaps in the future, you won't jump all over a media personality when they have a small gaff. We all make mistakes.
ReplyDeleteRich apologized, and that was a classy move. Now I wonder if Ms. Gutierrez will retract her derogatory tweet on the matter.
ReplyDeleteRB at 1023 a.m. is correct. The woman does her job. If here cadence and intones are not acceptable to misogynist types then turn the dial. Had any of the bashers here ever seen Amy in person then you would know. She is stunningly beautiful.
ReplyDeleteSo, it's better to be a sexist objectivist than a misogynist? She's paid for sideline reporting, but it looks like that's not all you get out of it.
DeleteThanks for chiming in, Amy
DeleteSadly it is wrong.
ReplyDeleteWe can still dream when the chick with one initial leaves town.
Kudos RL415!! It happens.
ReplyDelete11:20 - Her tweet was pretty factual so I don't see why there is a need to take it down. I'm sure she has about had it with all the negative remarks about her on this blog and then to top it off a rumor gets started from here that isn't true. Good lesson that you can't always believe all you read...
ReplyDeleteBrian
Brian,
DeleteGiven Rich has issued an apology, and an admission that he was wrong, her still active tweet now contains non-factual information. IMO a correct update from her in regard to the situation, or deletion of her current tweet on the subject, would be appropriate.
Correcting an error in such a public way gives you a lot of credibility. The people at the Chronicle who say you're not a real journalist could learn a thing or two from you.
ReplyDeleteWe can't have these kinds of screw-ups, Rich. This is intolerable.
ReplyDeleteHer whining, teenage-sounding voice is very annoying and her breathy, softball questions are just sadly, just what Larry Baer wants. He doesn't want anything of substance, just wasteful fluff from Amy G, so that what she gives the viewers. Kuiper and Krukow are good sports to put up with her, but you can tell they are really sick of having to break away and go to her while she pushes something the Giants are doing in the community that has nothing to do with the game. You'd think after ten years the woman would have gotten even modestly better. No chance! Sorry your 'source' screwed you over on this story Rich, that's a shame. It got all of our hopes up that she was gonna finally be off the Giants TV broadcasts!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely on the money. THESE are the reasons that make her appearances insufferable.
DeleteI couldn't have said it better. To make a correction like this gives you a lot of credibility. Most of us strive to get it right but mistakes do happen more often than any of us would like. The pressures on most of us for cranking it out so fast, with short staffs and ever increasing workloads, increase the risk for many more mistakes.
ReplyDeleteWell-said and all true.
DeleteTwo Programs I would like during the morning or afternoon; #1.Coast to Coast with Noory.
ReplyDelete#2. Red Eye Radio, which is still on, but during the night.
Any chance of at least Red Eye Radio coming on earlier, say at 10pm? Most of my favorites have been sh*tcanned or launched into inaccessible Pod-Oblivion. I'm still on terrestial, Home Alone.
Rich,
ReplyDeleteNot very many people fess up to their mistakes anymore. You are a class act. Everyone makes mistakes but very few admit it.
Most annoying is Amy G's arrogant self-serving tweet chastising you Rich. She is a twit!
ReplyDeleteShe had to deny the rumor at the source. "Chastising Rich"? After a couple of years of Rich putting down everyone, especially female, who works at Comcast?
DeleteWho is the twit?
Amy G. unlike the rest of the media does not pretend to be more then have a job that's to make the team that pays her make the players and team look good and in better light. Right? When did she ever lie? No need to. She IS happy so and so had a baby.
ReplyDeleteI would rip the ones who swear "My employer here at KNBRTHEGAME has NEVER told me what I can and can't say". There's the liar.
Integrity is just that and you showed it this time. Thank you.
ReplyDeletethank you for getting my hopes up and then totally destroying them. 2016 sucks so much
ReplyDeletegotta go ot
heard a snippet of chip franklin
he had on one of my fav comics, will durst, who was promoting his end of year show...a tradition, where he brings together a bunch of local comics
first, franklin asked durst seriously why he wasnt a part of the show, then, when discussing trump, chip said he was afraid for his own gig, because trump might bring back the "fairness doctrine"
durst sat there in stunned silence while franklin, thinking that durst didnt know what the doctrine was because he said nothing, went on to explain what it was
the man is an idiot
why does he have a show on the air?
Amy G SHOULD leave the Giants. With that being said, you were at least partially correct in your report!
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of integrity no.2, I know your a fan of Greg Papa..but you got to admit Rich,he's gone all jerk on his talk show. I don't believe you listen to that and think "Good radio"!
ReplyDeleteHe's the Donald Chump of sports radio. Convinced he's "so smart I don't need no daily learning. I don't need to learn nuth'in."
Something like that.
Damn, I was really hoping this was true........
ReplyDeleteI would like to know who the contact is that screwed this up. Millions of viewers were begging this to be true. She's inane and insufferable. If Comcast really wants her to transfer, they need to try a lot harder to pry her away. Can't use good luck charm and superstition excuses anymore. Need someone better. Problem still unresolved.
ReplyDeleteYou did not read chapter one of the Sunzi classic You were staged and shaped. ... Rich, you will survive as usual. HNY! Wisn you and your mom well.
