KTVU Honors Somebody Named 'Nate Thurman'

So classy of KTVU to show respect for "Nate Thurman"--I'm sure Nate Thurmond would have been proud.

  1. That whole operation is a mess. They make the same stupid mistakes day after day which tells me they have the same stupid kids in key positions day after day and don't give two shits about quality. I'm seeing the same thing in our larger society. Our economics here (cost of living, outdated infrastructure, seemingly constant congestion) have come to the point where the guy on the street no longer cares about this sort of thing. California (especially northern California) seems to be a star chamber where we sit around table, nod our heads and collect a government check. You only get away from from leaving the region.

This is a well fed and watered, highly educated, affluent...strange goddamn place.

  3. PLUS "Warriors" should have been capitalized in that fullscreen.

  4. That used to be rare. It took a sharp eye to find that on TV or in a major newspaper.
Now,its everyday. Add the internet too.

  6. What do you expect? They hire kids out of college for peanuts. They seem to know little or nothing about any history, but can tell you everything about the social media or the newest Pokeman craze. Some higher up or fact checker should have seen the mistake however. This doesn't say much for KTVU does it? It's also Insulting to the memory of a great Warrior player and a good guy.

You're funny. You think there still ARE any "high-up factor checkers"? They were all laid off about eight years ago.

  7. No excuses. It doesn't matter how much they're paid. A job has to be done right.

  8. I blame those old upper farts at KTVU for not reading their shit. If they don't care for the product, they shouldn't be working there. Plain and simple...

  10. Thanks Rich for catching this and bringing it to the surface. This type of stuff would not be tolerated with Dennis Richmond walking around the area. He had standards and expectations.

    1. Um, it wouldn't be tolerated with Fred Zehnder and their then-news exec producer, whose name escapes me, walking around. Dennis would be in a break room working on his putting.

    2. You seem to know more about the inner workings than I do. However, these poor graphics - Some Ting Wong, and Thurman - if that was put up in front of him heads would roll...

  11. KTVU: Continuing the tradition of messing up on-screen graphics, beginning with the Sum Ting Wong fiasco.

  13. It's not limited to KTVU and it's certainly not limited to off camera employees. I was watching KRON last night and there was a story about the rally at Portsmouth Square in support of Ed Lee. I believe JR Stone was the anchor reading the story and he pronounced the name as Ports - Mouth Square. A few months ago, I recall the traffic reporter talking about an accident at Sunset Blvd. and Riviera Street in the City. Those kinds of mistakes just grate on the nerves.

  14. It is Sunset Blvd and Riviera Street. Sunset isn't an Avenue

  15. Well, Rivera, not Riviera. But I feel your pain.
