I think that management at KTVU has closed a money loop hole by not replacing Claudine Wong. OK; here is my reasoning. Claudine is on PAID vacation. Rosemary is on the clock and so is the other guy who sits at the desk. By having Rosemary do the weather and the news saves having to pay someone else to come in to replace Claudine. THE SAME MONEY IN DIFFERENT POCKETS. The cost of producing the show remains the same.
Standby to witness other money saving acts from not only KTVU buy other stations as well. Just wait until the news is done by robots. How many people have been replaced by ATM's and self check grocery machines?
@11:17 That makes no sense at all. Most of KTVU's on-air talent is NOT paid by the hour. They're paid on a contract salary. It makes no difference to KTVU who comes in and reads the news. Personally, I think hourly pay would kill KTVU's budget with all the overtime. Just have KTVU staff work a shitload of hours without worrying about paying overtime.
