A SENIOR HR manager at Media General, the corporate owner of several TV stations, including KRON, gave a warning to Gary Radnich, who was involved in an on-air kerfuffle involving Catherine Heenan, 415 Media has learned exclusively.
The video went viral and has circulated the entire globe. Just when it appeared to becoming an afterthought, its content was the topic of Fox News Channel's "The Five"--for the show's entirety, mind you. It also had significant play on Megyn Kelly's "The Kelly File."
The warning to Radnich did not involve termination, according to my Insider, but its language was "significant" enough to get placed in Radnich's employee file. Radnich has been mum about the video never mentioning it on-air and so too Heenan, who appeared to be flustered by it.
Radnich has not publically apologized to Heenan.
KRON is still not talking. Surprise, surprise.

Radnich, you're fucking fired. Security will escort you & your belongings to the front door.
ReplyDeleteThis is getting kind of old. Gary should just apologize and Heenan didn't need to make such a big deal about it to begin with. If this doesn't die off, then some firing will need to happen. Yes, I am dreaming.
ReplyDeleteWas the Fox broadcast critical of Radnich? With the likes of Hannity and O'Reilly doing worse on air why pick on KRON?
ReplyDeleteChris Matthews is ten times worse.
DeleteThe panel just speculated on whether Gary was joking or not. They didn't think so.
DeleteRadnich should be fired. A strong verbal warning, what does that do. FIRE HIM - he is an ass that makes KRON look worse, if possible.
ReplyDeleteHe's known her 25 years..and still couldn't just say he was sorry.
ReplyDeleteRadnich actually takes the view he's the victim. THAT'S the real Gary's World.
Stan!
DeleteWelcome back
To that same old place that you laughed about
Well the names have all changed since you hung around
But those dreams have remained and they've turned around
Who'd have thought they'd lead ya
(Who'd have thought they'd lead ya)
Back here where we need ya
(Back here where we need ya)
Yeah. we tease him a lot 'cause we got him on the spot
Welcome back
Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back
Welcome back, welcome back
Welcome back
We always could spot a friend
Welcome back
And I smile when I think how you must have been
And I know what a scene you were learning in
Was there something that made you come back again
And what could ever lead ya
(What could ever lead ya)
Back here where we need ya
(Back here where we need ya)
Yeah, we tease him a lot 'cause we got him on the spot
Welcome back
Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back
Welcome back, welcome back

Good point-in the video he clearly is saying 'how dare you, stay out of my (meager) domain' while Catherine is saying "I'm only reading what they're giving me, brah'. But how do you expect an insecure, over-the-hill and clearly unchiseled sports non-entity to react? Yes, like a 2 year old!
DeleteI could have sworn I heard Kelly call him Radnit.
ReplyDeleteI doubt "The Five" spent the entirety of a show on this.
ReplyDelete"The Five" spent only a short segment of the show talking about KRON, but for a local story it didn't look good to be called out on a national show. Embarrassing. These things usually happen on TV stations you've never heard of.
DeleteJust a hunch: They're starting to look for someone.
ReplyDeleteThat would require effort. You have no idea how inert and brain-dead KRON management is. That's why Pero is still employed there. Unless Heenan threatens to sue (and she won't), he's fine.
DeleteLittle Aaron Pero. Boy Broadcaster.
Delete"They" in this case is Media General. Again, just a hunch.
DeleteIf the corporate office has to step in and do a job that should be done on the local level, that can't be good.
DeleteThe Fox News Channel also showed the clip on "The Greg Gutfeld Show" on Sunday night. They also spent a lot of time ridiculing old Raddy and making him look foolish.
ReplyDeleteHow do yo find out about all this hot red meat?
ReplyDeleteAre insiders in need of a Father Confessor figure?
Do they wish to 'warn' any newcommers?
Why are they telling YOU all this good gossip?
....Oh, and keep it coming, Bro.!
I want an drum head court martial with immediate execution of sentence including banishment to Good Day Sacramento...
ReplyDeleteWhy did Media General finally speak up? Well,I see Black Bear Diner and Lexus have dropped sponsoring Raddy like a hot potato.
ReplyDeleteWhen Radnich starts costing the company money...
Who are you all kidding, this has been great publicity for KRON whom nobody watches, but now.........
ReplyDeleteWho is this Radnich guy? Lived here my whole life and never heard of him. He must live in his own world.
ReplyDeleteGary is a great guy. I thought it was a funny bit. I find Gary's good-natured teasing of his coworkers is endearing, not offensive. Gary talks on the air like a real person, not like a plastic milk toast anchor.
ReplyDeleteThanks Gary....
DeleteDoes he really do sports? I thought he was the old guy on TMZ
DeleteI see that KRON has Radnich quarantined in the neighboring zip code during his segment. Repeated warnings not to harass the on-air talent went unheeded, so banishment to the other side of the studio is the result and he still doesn't get it.
ReplyDeleteA ban to Good Day Sac?? Good Day deserves better..
ReplyDeleteGuttfeld is from the area. Went to Cal, and is familiar with Radnich.
ReplyDeleteYeah, he's a Serra guy and grew up in San Mateo.
DeleteRadnich is a bloviating blowhard, insufferably full of himself, and lazy-ass to boot.
ReplyDeleteHe hasn't had an original sports take in 25 years
DeleteRadnich's Ears are getting HUGE
ReplyDeleteThe Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon did a bit on it during the opening monolog. Made Radnich look silly. His failure to advise the other segment producers/writers on what he is including in his segment is his fault. He has used this tactic before. Being sarcastic with a bit of biting humor to get his point across. Appears to be wearing thing with co-workers.
