Media General, the owner of KRON, was concerned enough about the fallout from the Gary Radnich on-air meltdown with Catherine Heenan that they contacted KRON big suits themselves.What did they want?
415 Media has learned that MG talked to KRON powers-that-be and propose an on-air apology --quick and simple from Radnich himself to Heenan.
The idea was to clear the air and put the whole matter in the rear-view mirror. It was not presented as an ultimatum to Radnich but the veteran KRON sports anchor refused to go along with the directive.
"I have nothing to apologize for," Radnich supposedly told KRON higher-ups and a local broadcast source confirmed to 415 Media.
KRON has pulled the video of the Radnich dust-up with Heenan over a copyright claim.
We will continue to monitor the situation.

ReplyDeleteFirst of all, 3:28, learn to spell. It's not "stick." Look up the proper word--it will do you good. Second of all, IT DOESN'T MATTER if Gary thought it was a joke. If he called Pam the n-word in a joking way, would that be acceptable? Ever hear of coworkers making the work environment uncomfortable? Now try that ON AIR, with thousands watching. Okay, it's KRON, so only about ten people were watching, but the video has gone around the world on the internet, and contrary to what some idiots think, they do NOT want this negative publicity. And yes, the fat lard was asked to apologize. It's all everyone's talking about (under their breath) in the newsroom today.

ReplyDeleteThere are those who contaminate the work environment and spread the contamination to the people who they work with! I have assigned him the call sign, "The Contaminator." It is not this one incident...but hundreds!!
ReplyDeleteIt seems the "contaminator" is more powerful than the people who are "responsible" for controlling him. If management hasn't any power, they in part are just as responsible for the contamination! Weak management equals no management! I have zero respect for weak managers!!
Sometimes, in instances like this where this is an expensive, loose cannon, management seems to be laying back but, in reality, they're keeping a watchful eye for a singular instance to terminate him. This may be such an instance.

I dont watch KRON anymore due to all of Raddy's childish actions and smugness. Catherine should be upset at him. The whole team is compromised because of his moronic attitude and it indirectly transfers to others who don't want it or need it in a very negative work environment there.

Everybody who watches KRON and Gary regularly got the bit. If Gary apologized, it would imply he did something wrong. He did nothing wrong. It was a funny bit.

KRON should get rid of that aging bloated bullfrog. Until then, viewers should boycott watching his "my sh.. don't stink" sports segment and should boycott listening to his show on KNBR. It is always hearing the same ole schtick. Old geezers who were once successful will say something so outlandish that will ruin their career and reputation. Hope that it happens real fast.

Wilmore was especially funny on the Nightly Report. He asked what Radnich would do if the news anchor reported that Kevin Durant was staring in Kazaam II.
