War at PIX; KNTV Fisticuffs; 'The Game' Reality; Papa/Bruce Hate Factor; White Women Reporters/Anchors Feel Entitled; 415 Media Friday

The picture of the PIX tonsils standing and smiling is only a cover-up to the REAL STORY: they hate each other's guts!

Alan Martin and Ken Bastida are AT WAR! A primal feud has been brewing for months between the two and the others are just fighting to get in, do their job and get the hell out.

855 Battery is a virtual war zone. And don't even think about stepping foot in the bosses office, especially in the morning.

*Key, KNTV man: if you insist on screwing that well-known female reporter who Investigates --at least do your stupping in a better hotel than the San Jose Fairmont. There's a lot of cameras at the bar and 415 Media spies abound.

*Speaking of infidelity, John Lund would give up his entire life of telling penis jokes if he could somehow seduce a certain 95. 7 "The Game" female associate but that's never gonna happen. For one, she's married, you moron.

*The Game has never reached a 2 rating in its five-year existence. Never. It's smarter than KNBR, sure and it makes money. So what. You'd have to be a damn fool and incompetent not to make money in a sports-radio station in a big market; The Game is like a guy with a 790 FICO score with a credit limit of $3000. Just good enough to be relevant; able to buy Marvin's Gardens but can't sniff Park Place.

*Lund: tofu scramble with soy milk infused sprinkles and eggplant ice-cream for desert.

*Radnich roaming West Portal; well, that's better than the Tenderloin.

*By the way, there's no love lost for Greg Papa and Damon Bruce.

*As terrific as Jim Barnett is as a basketball color analyst, behind the friendly demeanor is a much-different "JB."

*Even if PIX's Christin Ayers were to take the CNN gig (and now it's 50-50) there's a very good chance she'd stay in the Bay Area which is a plus. My best guess is that the East Bay beauty keeps it here.

*Someone commented "Rich loves the sistahs."  And so, what's wrong with that? Next.

*Someone I thought would definitely go network: Cheryl Hurd. Brazen, smart, and tough.

*At KGO-TV there's only 3 Black on-air people. Is there something wrong with that? I dunno, ask Nick Smith. Quietly.

*Some, not all, white women reporters and anchors feel like they're entitled to their positions...Women reporters and anchors of color have to WORK to get their gigs.

*Of course you may disagree with the last assessment but you'd be wrong.

*Have a lovely day.

  1. Black women are beautiful! I agree with you, Rich so what? I saw that comment too, and didn't 'get' his point.

Everyone has a type of person they're attracted to. Frankly, the nerdy white guy with hot Asian chick is cliché.

There are beautiful African American women Latina lovelies, etc.

If we were all one color, it would be dull.

Robin Winston is a doll, and a real broadcaster!

    1. Robin Winston, what a joy to watch! She's too perfect. I don't think she is "real." Someone should check her lower back area, there might be an on/off switch back there! She makes traffic congestion interesting! Is she a "humanoid," could be!

True, but be careful or some pinhead will call you a "racist".

  2. Rich, enough race-baiting in your post today?

  3. Nothing wrong with loving the sistahs Rich, you cross the line when you start calling some brothas Uncle Toms.

    1. Absolutely on the Uncle Tom reference. Love this column but the Vern Glenn/Brian Copeland innuendos I can do without. You don't have the "capital" for that. I would also call out another black person for saying the same

  4. KNBR has the more experienced, established hosts, but "The Game" seems to have better content and topics.

    1. It's good to see you're listening 12:31. KNBR has "experience" and "established" hosts, but they lack content and depth. They all follow Radnich, who could alone keep the US Postal Service in the black because he mails everything in. Fitzgerald is the flag bearer for sense of entitlement, and not those tech millennials. Ratto must've been born out of his mother's ass because he's terminally sour. And the morning guys are better off polishing shoes.

That's a subjective opinion. Any time I've tried to listen to the Game, they're a debacle. The morning show is atrocious and just about every show on there regurgitates opinion and conjecture from national shows. The Game is mostly audio plagiarism from what I've heard. For the most part, it's all the same garbage.

  5. Why do we count how many people "of color" are on the airwaves? We never notice how many white men over 50 are. Ahem.

They're the same thing, but one is racism while the other is diversity. Amazing how elastic the English language is.

    1. So who's this royal "we" you're referring to? Don't you mean 'you' never notice? How "elastic" is that?

  6. I certainly hope Alan wins. He's by far the better newsreader (unlike Ken, who can't get over his wry self) and I still can't tell Alan's politics (which used to be considered a good thing). Genuine, is the word I'm searching for.

    1. Yes, Alan is a true professional and has qualities Bastida could learn from. The wise cracks and off hand comments get old after a while.

No, not really. Considering African Americans make up roughly 30% of the population 3/10 is about right. Now I know you're thinking, "That cant be, I see them everywhere". On the news, rioting, yes. In public? Not so much.

    1. African American population is 13% of the U.S. population, 6.5% of California and 7% of the Bay Area population.

    2. You bought into the Jackson/Sharpton propaganda/ 3/10 is not close. they are not even the largest minority anymore.

No shit. Everyone has their racial preferences in a variety of realms.

  8. Rich - really surprised you don't post more on Ros Gold-Onwude. She's a good reporter. Smart, sassy and very attractive. A few have commented on here that she is nothing but another courtside or sideline bimbo. So untrue. She knows the game and was an excellent guard for the Stanford women's BB team. If you google some images of her, you'll see a few hilarious shots of Steve Kerr and an NBA referee oogling her excellent "backside."

  9. I have detected on-air tension, at times, during some of the recent nightly PIX newscasts. More so in the last couple weeks.

  10. I can't for the life of me remember the Young Woman's name, but I sure hope someone else might...Back in the day, around the late 1970's KGO had a beautiful Black Woman who was an Anchor during the evening news. Well being a fashionable Young Woman that she was, she tried a new hairdo that was really catching on. She came to work to anchor with her hair in braids all over her head. KGO did not like this new style of hair dress, and told her that she would not be anchoring the news that evening, they also told her that she would not Anchor again until she took the braids out.

  11. Not sure what you're implying about Jim Barnett, I've encountered him a few times over the years and he's always been very nice, exactly as he is on air - if it wasn't for him I couldn't stand watching Warriors broadcasts with arrogant, pompous Fitzgerald. Frankly, I don't know how Barnett works with the guy...

    ReplyDelete
  12. Had a similar experience as 8:15, ran into Jim Barnett a few years ago, and he couldn't have been nicer.

Sadly , I don't watch local telecasts because, surprise, I despise Fitzgerald.

Fortunately, W's success has meant more national broadcasts.

  13. I'm puzzled why Rich continues to give Lund any pub whatsoever. The only reason he gets any ratings is due to being paired with Papa and KNBR's piss-poor offering in that time slot. Go back and look at the ratings when Lund and Papa were on between 10-2pm. Raddy and crew absolutely demolished Lund and Papa but the numbers went up once that Bob and Rod shit show went live. Why bother mentioning this talentless hack whatsoever?

  14. RE: 95.7 mornings. Lorenzo Neal trying to talk about anything other than football is hilarious. The guy has no clue about other sports. And, it's obvious when he's reading stuff somebody else wrote for him. It's funny for a minute or so, then it's time to turn the dial he's so bad...
