KSFO, what used to be "The World's Greatest Radio Station" about 967 years ago, used a substitute for weekend host, Ethan Bearman, (4-7 PM)--a guy named Leigh Wolf.
Wolf is a board op who has never been on the radio.
Never.
Here's some audio buffet if you care to listen. I don't listen to KSFO anymore for health reasons.
This is all courtesy of Renee Bakos, the programmer at the station. Pure comedy gold. Bonus SweetJack coupons too!

No offense, but a board op with no air experience is better than that sanctimonious right wing hack and retread from KSCO Ethan Bearman. Unless the board op elongaaaaaaaated eveeeery woooord and taaaaalked doooown too the audieeeeeeence like we aaaaare a buuunch retaaaards who neeeeed enlightenmeeeeeeent froooom the curly haireeeed oooneeeeee
ReplyDeleteYeah I agree. Bearman is terrible. I'll take the board op I've never heard
ReplyDeleteYou are sooooo right about Ethan Bearman, I heard Leigh Wolf for about 5 minutes, so can't say what he is like, but he did not sound any worse than Sussman or Bearman. Both annoys the hell of me, for different reasons, none of them belong on a major San Francisco radio station.
ReplyDeleteNot bad, especially for a first show.
ReplyDeleteEnough shows about investing money I will never have. Does any station want to consider a Pet-Shop hour? I would tune in, especially if they allowed local questions. They could even use twenty minutes for infomercials on super-duper dog or cat food.
ReplyDeleteAny hope that an FM station might do something this simple and appealing? Needless to say, I'm not holding my breath.
I listened and thought he was pretty good considering the talent out there. AND he finished a sentence before going off on some oblique thought.
ReplyDelete"Chicago Eddie" Schwartz pulled records out of the stacks for DJs until one night when the overnight guy failed to show up. That soon became his permanent gig. Later he became the most popular overnight guy in Chicago, after leaving WIND for WGN.
