KPIX Night Beat Is Still 'Turrible'

 NIGHT BEAT:

*Take cutesy selfies that draw attention away from shitty newscast.

*Sing 'GAAAAAME ON!" and mock your own shitty newscast.

*Concede to 415 Media rant about the shameless "Facebook" and "Twitter" references by 86ing them , (sorry, but the show still sucks).

*Veronica De La Cruz: I respected the hell out of you considering your pithy news background but what the hell are you doing on a POS show like this?

*Tie Update: So, the weather guy is tie-less but the sports guy is wearing a tie. So much for sticking to the script. (It looks weird, make up your mind).

Ken Bastida: Serious newsmen do NOT take selfies. Be careful.

Dennis O'Donnell: Keep your eyes off VDLC.

RATINGS: As Charles Barkley would say, "turrible!"

GAME OFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF!

  1. Millennials don't watch local news. In fact what KPIX should do is online only 'Nightbeat' segments if they're that concerned about the 18-49 demographic

  2. I've watched the show twice. First time, awful, I turned it off. Second time, things were a little more polished, but I did get a sense that it was dumbed down slightly. Just....something about it. Hard to pin down. The young people in the opening montage probably had something to do with that. If they were serious, they'd hire actual 20-something reporters instead of sending out KPIX retreads who are already too old and behave like old people trying to talk like the kids talk today, dig it? Or maybe I should say instead....you feel me? Don't kids say "you feel me?" a lot?

  3. Im sorry but anything is better than watching princess Cook try to read. Thank God she has her daddy Ken by her side helping her out. Its unbearable and I've switched channels.

  4. Has Lieberman forgotten that he's already written this same opinion, over and over again?

  6. The best time for KPIX to pull the plug on this disaster will be in December. With Miss Schertz in New York for the holidays they can simply claim that they are building a new set - back to the old set - and that there will be a new program in January. Meanwhile KPIX can have Ken or Juliette anchor and in January either bring VD back as a weekend and fill in anchor or not. Either way it's been an abysmal failure and embarrassment - Dave McElhatton is doing somersaults.

  7. Ditto about Ms. Cook. This is a top 10 market and she belongs in a middle sized market for atleast a few years if not longer. I'm sure her father (not her Kenny boy) can work something out.

  8. This whole phenomenon of taking 'selfies' is typical of an American public that is increasingly self-absorbed, ignorant, and held in the thrall of 21st century media. Whenever I'm driving through downtown SF on my way to work, I am astonished at how many people I see, (and not just millennials), who totally absorbed with their i-phones and smart-phones as they walk along, oblivious to everything around them. Their fingers are dancing silently across their tiny key boards as they tweet, blog, instagram, and Facebook. I wonder what would happen to these twits if their devices suddenly didn't work anymore and they actually had to have conversations and interact with people!

  9. I watched the show for the first time last night, well at least the last 15 minutes. I was channel surfing and knew this forum was anti-show and wanted to see for myself. I actually liked it. It was more relaxed on the format and delivery, It is condensed by default based on 30 minutes.I would watch it periodically, maybe not everyday
