With Carolyn Johnson now gone? Hmmmmmm...Griego, Mathai...
I can think of 2 names, And they have long since left the airwaves: Dave McElhatton and Van Amburg
None. Lawrence O'Donnell
Captain Cosmic and 2T2
Frank Somerville, Gasia Mikaelian, Ken Wayne and Dan Ashley. All high quality anchors who simply read the news and don't dumb down their viewers with silly chit-chat. An added plus is that they have the ability to read the news without repeatedly dipping their heads to emphasize every sentence.
> Frank Somerville, Gasia Mikaelian, Ken Wayne and Dan Ashley> ... don't dumb down their viewers with silly chit-chat.What are you talking about? Frank chit-chats all the time, plus he gives us that sad voice with a slight catch in his throat for the really sad stories, like a four-year-old killed in Oakland because he was run over while attending a sideshow.
@10:33You're far too obvious.
"What are you talking about? Frank chit-chats all the time..."Reading comprehension eludes you. Try again.
Bastida and Notarangelo.
Charlie and Humphrey are it. The end.

Ken Bastida; so solid. Frank Somerville; total pro. Carolyn Johnson; why KGO let her go I will never know. Future advertising revenue in her slots cannot be the same without her.
Juliette GoodrichFrank SomervilleKristen Sze
Anchor Steam Porter. Hard to find on tap but really good!!
Ken Bastida and Juliette Goodrich - two genuinely nice people who are comfortable with their jobs, selves and each other. RAH!Management, goldarnit, ARE YOU LISTENING?
X 2Listening? If they did, Gonzalez would be looong gone.
Goodrich rocks ! I remember when Bastida and Goodrich were a team. Solid professionals and easy on the eyes. I think she is out in the field too reporting on real life stuff ! She has brains !
Gotta go with Charley Horse and Humphrey Hambone.
Glue! I need GLUE!!!Oat McCormick, where are you?
Brian Flores and Gasia Mikaelian. Especially when they co-anchor together. Excellent.
I don't watch nightly news but do mornings. I used to watch KGO but I thought Kristen Sze was too contrived and acted like she thought an anchor should act. I don't like female anchors who nod in deferential agreement with the male anchor, which she does. The weather reporter and traffic reporter for KGO are good. I usually watch KPIX and Michelle Griego and Frank Mallicoat are the ones I watch most. Mallicoat has a Ron Burgundy air about him sometimes. Their fill ins are good too. Their weather and traffic not so good. I'd watch KRON in the morning if it weren't for Darya Folsom. I think the two male anchors, Mark Danon and James Fletcher. Anny Hong is much better than Darya and I wish she was permanent.
I second it. Anny Hong is much better that D Folsom. I don't understand what she brings to the party.
Anny Hong can anchor my ding dong anytime.
Or lack there of!
Love Michelle Griego on PIX at noon. Mallicoat is decent. Only down side of the show is when Roberta Gonzalez comes on. Prior to the Belgium/USA World Cup match, she was on location at a sports bar in San Leandro. Before she got to her interviews and the weather, she had to tell us what a big soccer fan she was -- "I worked for a professional soccer team in San Diego and I attended the World Cup in Italy." Who gives a rat's ass?? Same old self promoting from Roberta.
My wife was a communications director for a local food bank. Of course, during the winter holidays, local stations partner in food drives. She said Roberta Gonzalez is a nasty piece of work until she gets in front of the camera. Then she's everybody's friend. I get that you have to be business - but I think that most newspeople, or anybody in the media, for that matter, can get an over-inflated view of themselves. Pond and fish, ya know.
Ken Bastida is the best.
What ever happened to Pat Mc Cormack? Not sure how to spell his last mane....
Always liked Darya Folsom
Initially I had some reservations about Raj Mathei moving from Sports to News but he's made a seamless transition and now is among My Favorite Bay Area TV Anchors along with Ken Bastida, Dan Ashley and Pam Moore.
Darya reminds me of the MILFs we see pub crawling on Friday and Saturday nights in Danville: too much makeup, too much jewelry and too many structural add ons to their physique, thinking it will make them look younger.
But does the carpet match the drapes?
I like the ones with nice T & A and a smile!
I just saw Cheryl Jennings call a tortoise a "turtle"!KGO is as bad as KTVU!!
Jessica AguirreDan Ashley
@2:00.. Hopefully there is no carpet
The bay areas two power house news anchors are Claudine Wong and Ama Datez.
Bastida needs a wake-up call. He has stopped working. It may be nothing that cannot be fixed but he is the one who must make the repairs. Listen to him read copy. His emphasis is often wildly off, the mark of someone seeing the words for the first time as they scroll down the prompter. Late scripts are not an excuse. An anchor should be conversant in at least the small number of stories assigned to others to write and for him to read. All he has to do is to pay attention for just a little while before each show.
In no particular order...Dan AshleyFrank SommervilleKen BastidaBrian HackneyCheryl JenningsJessica AguirrePam MooreJulie Haener
Yer' all wrong: It's Julie Haener at KTVU - - hands down...
Jessica AguirreAnd I love me some Laura Garcia-Cannon in the morning. (Wouldn't we all?)Sommerville and Bastida are solid too.
Terrilyn Joe! I kid, I kid..Gasia (follow her on Twitter, she's very nice and interacts a lot), Somerville and Heather Holmes.
Don Hayward - my all-time favorite. Was a great guy, too.
Come on, Veronica De La Cruz beats them all
