Michael Savage: 'Why Do Liberal Jews Hate Israel?'

MICHAEL SAVAGE didn't mince words: He asked on his syndicated radio show: "Why do liberal Jews hate Israel?"

Fair question.

This as the Israeli-Gaza crisis deepens.

I have my own opinions.

    1. Uh, you're wrong.

I'm a strong supporter of Israel. Especially in this latest Gaza conflict --I'll talk about it on my radio show today.

    2. Make sure you talk about this:

  2. Because they understand the reality that the creation of that state involved the forced displacement of almost a million people? Perhaps?

    1. Displacement, you say? You forget Tunisia, Morocco, Libiya, Egypt and I can keep going are the place's where Jews were expelled and all their property as well taken. Try a better argument.

  3. Simple. It's because liberalism is a stronger religion than Judaism.

  4. I am liberal and vehemently support the State of Israel. I truly sympathize with the moderates in the Palestinian territories who are caught in this conflict. However, it is the extremists, Hamas and others before, that are causing the suffering of their own people. This whole thing would be over tomorrow if the Palestinian leadership would recognize Israel's right to exist and agree to live in peace.

But instead they antagonize Israel and terrorize the Israeli population. When Israel defends itself with the weaponry at their disposal, the Palestinians claim to be the victims. What other sovereign nation does not have the right to protect themselves and is under such scrutiny? Israel has always been held to a higher standard.

Israel was created by the United Nations and is a recognized, legitimate, sovereign nation and by the way, a democratic nation. For those who question the legitimacy of Israel's right to exist, I ask you where you live and whether you plan to give your home and property back to the Native Americans who once called this continent theirs. I didn't think so.

      What part don't they recognize?

    2. I'm just guessing here, but if you were a Palestinian in Gaza, living in the open prison which is Gaza, and every thing you did was dictated by the law of the oppressor, you'd be unwilling to bow to that oppressor and kiss its ass. Sovereign nations aren't required to profess undying loyalty to other sovereign nations, are they? Everything that is happening in Gaza now, makes Hamas stronger, which is not a good thing for Israel, for the US, or for peace.

    3. Christine. Don't know if you have spent much time in that region. I have traveled there. Gaza is not "an open prison." Sadly, looked like some pretty nice buildings being destroyed in the last couple of weeks. While I am sure that it is no paradise, there is commerce, banks, beaches, etc. because they have been described in this latest round of clashes. "The oppressor" provides infrastructure such as water and power (because technically it is still Israel). If you recall your recent history in the past 30 years, Israel closed Gaza and the West Bank to Israel because its people were being randomly targeted by Palestinians who would walk into stores, onto buses and other crowed venues and blow themselves up. Israel had enough and this is the result. People want to believe that Israel has taken unilateral action "oppressing" the Palestinians but this simply is untrue.

    4. So if Nazis had provided concentration camp "settlers" with commerce and banks everything would have been okay?

    5. 10:34 AM why does every argument end up going to the "Nazi" supposed common denominator. Jews in 1930's Germany, Austria etc. never swore death to those countries, they never randomly killed German/Austria fellow citizens. They never blew up innocents on buses or discos. The Jews in 1930's Germany/Austria just wanted to live their lives and were singled out and made scapegoats. If this was the case for the extremist Palestinians of today, this conflict would have been over a long time ago. Unfortunately the moderate Palestinians have little say. So please don't compare the two. They have nothing in common.

      I mean Jon Stewart

    2. yes, be sure you google Jon Stewart Gaza and Naomi Wolf Gaza..two very brave Jewish Americans who know genocide when they see it. The munitions killing 80% civilians in Gaza are stamped "made in usa", just in case you wonder why the next generation will feel less than kindly towards us. No, they don't hate us for our "freedom".

  7. That's a stupid question. Liberal Jews don't hate Israel, they hate some of the policies of the Israeli government.
It's like saying those americans who are against some of the policies of the U.S. government hate America.

  8. Oh, Michael Savage, the guy with no ratings that they can't sell on KSFO?

Yeah, I've heard of him. I didn't know he was Jewish though. He's always defending Conservative Christians who believes Jews need to accept Jesus when he returns, or die. And the same guy who supports the Conservatives who also wear white hoods on the weekend.

Yeah, I don't think I'll listen to that guy.

  9. If Savage is correct, that is a lot of Jews. Several polls I have read indicate that 70-80+% of the Jewish voters in this country are liberal. I have known a few Jewish people, and have had several Jewish friends, over the years. Almost all of them were/are liberal, and they all seemed to love Israel. Go figure?!

  10. I’m neither a liberal nor a Jew. As for having Palestinian blood running through my veins I do not know since I never had a DNA test to reveal what sanguine fluid pumps within me to give me life. But do I really care? All that really matters is that I’m alive. And how could I possibly answer such an ambiguous question about one’s philosophical belief about why or who they hate. Am I my brother’s keeper?

But with all that being said the mark is clear, hands are stained, the crow frantically scratches the earth more and more. It appears that man’s destiny is to wander forever east of Eden. To be left always searching and asking why, forever and ever and ever and ever.

    Yours truly,

  11. Yesterday Michael read an insightful letter on-air that you, Rich, had forwarded from an Israeli woman.

Any chance that at least excerpts could be published here?

    1. Thank you, Rich, for reading this letter today on KSCO.

Please publish a print version or link to same online.

  12. Rich, you've made it abundantly clear on your show (even way back to the first broadcast) that political talk is lazy and boring radio, example: gun control, abortion, dem vs repub.
    Please add Israel vs Palestinian.
Most of us don't give a hoot about them. As Dr. Bill Wattenberg has been saying for years: let's just ignore them and let them fight it out. I think most Americans are sick and tired of these folks fighting over "holy" land and we would rather take care of things at home. Let the Weinerim, Leibowitzim, Lowensteinsim, Levinsim, Rothmansim, Liebermansim, Grossim worry about The Land. (For the uninitiated in Hebrew the "im" at the end of the word signifies the plural".
Oh and another thing. Most of us critical of Israel are sick and tired of being called antisemite every time we fairly criticize Israel. You Israel supporters sound like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton crying racism about everything. Shame on you!

  13. Savage has some interesting perspectives on health issues. Looking at that picture, I take it that dental hygiene is not one of his priorities.

  14. I'm a slightly liberal, not very religious Jew. I used to be proud of Israel, but for a long time I've been embarrassed by much of what goes on over there. While I can't stand Netanyahu and believe Likud does things to invite hated and violence toward Israel, I do believe he's justified going into Gaza to stop the rockets.

  15. by liberal jew, he of course means jews who are liberals

he cant mean jews who are not observant, for that would include himself

i am a liberal jew and i support israel

alan dershowitz is a liberal jew, and he supports israel

there is a difference between liberals and leftists

leftists, like the far right wing....hate the jew and israel

why ask why...its just a fact

    ReplyDelete
  16. Why should any Jew support Israel's policies, if they feel Israel's policies are wrong? Should all Jews think the same, simply because they're Jewish? How stupid.

  17. Michael is a Jew of convenience. When he wants the moral authority on something he uses, but then he's immediately in bed with right wing Christians who truly don't care for Jews. He changed his name because he's embarrassed about who he is. And as far as the idea of fighting for something, judging by his age, he managed to avoid the US military by staying in school, or doing whatever else he had to do, like leaving America, which he often touts. Of course he is into guns too. I'm told he carries one on him. Sounds like a tough guy.

Guy is a joke at this point, which the ratings are proving. His show is the same nonsense every single day with little to no diversity at all. Arguing against other hosts who also have no audience is truly boring.

    1. Wholeheartedly agree with your assessment. Weiner is a tired old act like a clown at Barnum and Bailey circus. I picture Weiner in clown makeup and outfit driving home in his old Jaguar with the full knowledge he's past his prime and there's no turning back time. Saying all liberal Jews hate Israel is like saying all conservatives are racist pigs who hate blacks. Generalizations are for the simple minded which is why I'm shocked Rich Lieberman embraces Weiner's dogma.
