ReplyDeleteLast night's ITN package from the Gaza hospital was picked up by CNN and others. It was horrific and a well orchestrated coordinated photo-op. Why does Hamas let media with dirty cameras, equipment, etc into sterile emergency rooms if the patient's comfort is supposedly a top priority? The ITN package succeeded in making the Israelis look bad. Score one for Hamas. It also says little has changed since reporting from that region several years ago. Individual human respect, dignity, and privacy in a hospital is not an option in Gaza. Will Hamas allow cameras to videotape executions when women are stoned to death for adultery? Just wondering.

DeleteYou are right, 11:46. The nerve of those greedy bastards, wanting non-essential items like a TV set, telephone, chairs/couches/beds/blankets, hardcopy reading material, or heaven forbid a computer. We mustn't expose them to communication media, or general comfort.
DeleteEmpower them with information, and a somewhat pleasant living environment, and it might embolden them to act in audacious ways that are not commensurate with their stature. Nutritious food should also be impossible for them to obtain, as it is rightfully too expensive and has too many positive effects on health, well-being, and their ability to think, grow, and heal. That money would be better spent on Learjets, Maybachs, yachts, shiny rocks, Botox, and 8 figure estates for the more deserving.
Why isn't anyone in the entire Bay Area Media telling us what's going on at the California , Mexico Border. Or, if and how many immigrants are being housed in California?

I heard the perfect replacement name for "Cumulus" on Norman Goldman's web stream the other day. Given their miserable ratings, the term that someone suggested was to begin calling them "Cume-less." I love that one! And it can't be more fitting.
DeleteDave Clark on KTVU - is every story he reports on a surprise to him? He acts like he can't believe what he's reporting on. Sorry, but I prefer my serious news delivered in a serious tone of voice. His delivery is too "cutesy". Can't stand him.

ReplyDeleteTiim Kawakami is a weird-o! He looks like he is talking to himself on TV because he's always staring at the floor and never seems to look at or listen to the other people on the show. I think it would be really hard to have a normal conversation with him. To make matters worse, I can't figure out which direction his hair is combed and he wears shirts that look like pajama tops that are two sizes too big for him. He is freaking me out!

ReplyDeleteWhat is with local news? It is really, really bad. Special shout out to Channel 2. Your 10 PM news is atrocious. What do you do, send out interns to the various police stations along the 880 corridor and Richmond to find the worst crime stories and put them on the air night after night? Or do you just have a scanner in the newsroom and roll a truck, camera and reporter to the "scene?"
ReplyDeleteReal news is occasionally intertwined between the crime stories. What is real news? Stories about the community: Transportation news, state government news, economic news. News that 90% of the people actually care about. I want to be informed but you people almost want me to change the channel to Naked Dating. Oh, and thanks for putting the weather on every 15 minutes while its dark! Truth be told, I have given up on local news and am getting a little more sleep. Even Summerville and Haener look bored these days with their newscast. Best of luck when Faux News takes over.

It was a rough week. They were showing the shorter version of The Game's current TV ad w/o my trifling mug at the beginning. I had to rattle some cages and now you can see me rattle off that insipid barf about the Lombardi trophy. ENJOY!
