KRON: Dr. Phil Show

  1. Sounds like KRON has it right. Plenty of other stations will carry hours of minimum information plus maximum speculation. People who would rather watch something else deserve choices, even if one of them is Dr. Phil.

    1. That is stupidest thing I've ever heard. This is a huge story. Just shows a complete lack of news judgment.

    2. 12:14 Soooo.....Maybe they should dispatch Stanley Roberts to Ukraine to do a Very Special Episode of "Russian Separatists Behaving Badly?"

    1. Like them or, as most do, hate them, KRON is right on this one. They have no network, no news credibility outside of SF (and that is suspect) and the pay thousands a week to air Dr. Phil (which is stupid for them to do. The show sucks.) However that's what they do. Of course CBS would kick in with "Breaking News." NBC, too. KGO 7 / ABC as well. No one cares that FOX doesn't even do news outside of cable. It's an international story, led by the 24 hour cable news cycles. What would you expect? Dr. Phil, creepy as he is, doesn't come cheap on a daily or weekly basis. No need to carry what others in the market have ad nauseum. Radio is all speculation and no wall to wall, either.

  3. Let's see:

If KRON jumped on the bandwagon, then there will be complaints on what time station started airing.

If all stations started airing it at or near the same time, there will be complaints on who was on the air doing the reporting...

    sheesh

  4. Who's feed is KRON allowed to use, and didn't? They're a small-budget independent, right? What were they supposed to do?

    1. Maybe they could have gone to CNN, as they are an affiliate, but why duplicate coverage? KTVU gong to FAUX Noise was a joke They aren't a breaking news channel for affiliates and their news programming widely distributed here.

    2. There's no such thing as an affiliate to CNN. CNN is a subscription service and no, you can't just go to their signal.

    3. As 5:59 noted, they are an affiliate of CNN. It would not be duplicate coverage, as CNN is not available over-the-air.

    4. 1:12, I am confused? I get CNN, don't you?

  5. Capt. Sully says why were they flying over a war zone? The USA forbids all planes leaving the US from flying over these zones. It's the airlines fault, they took a short cut and paid the price. Sorry, you lose.

    1. riddle me this..If there were no US passengers(perhaps that has changed), and it wasn't a US airline carrier, why the hell does the US(our tax money) spend lots of resources to track down those responsible? Clearly it's most likely the result of the clash between two brutish countries..russia and ukraine..Why our uber involvement?
