Sacramento Clear Channel Radio Idiots, 'Armstrong and Getty', Giggle/Laugh Over Death of Maya Angelou; Lead Moron Calls African-American Poet 'Pretentious Old Broad'

Armstrong and Getty, a bunch of human excrement poops from Sacramento on the radio began chortling over the death of Maya Angelou this morning on their show. The lead moron referred to the iconic figure as a "pretentious old broad." Here's the idiocy proof at the podcast beginning at 20: 22 --Unbelievable.

This is a cliche but these assholes began laughing and giggling before the body was cold. And in between, some jokes too.

Evil fiends wouldn't resort to this. Serial killers have more savvy. What were these schmucks thinking? Wait, that would require a brain.

I only wish these guys get some karma back.

I hope through the mechanisms of human decency and outrage people call out these disgusting sick lizards and let their bosses know how tacky and revolting their brand of humor is--clearly, these penis-heads possess no tact.

How many people have received "free tickets" in an effort for KGO to "paper" the veitnue?

    2. I have listened to A&G for years, and think they can be very funny, they tend to insult both sides of the aisle, although they seem to have gotten more right wing in the past few years (since Obama was elected? I don't think they are racist as such, but they seem to push the envelope more than they use to). If what Rich is writing is true, and I have no reason to believe it is not, they went way over the edge and I have lost a lot of respect for them. Problem is there are not really a good morning show available, Sussman and Katie Green, just as bad, and not funny what so ever, Glenn Beck, can be interesting, but just as he comes of as reasonable he says something, that totally dispelled that notion. I switched back and forth between the three, as soon as Sussman starts in on Joe Biden I try Glenn Beck or A&G, whoever is most reasonable and perhaps funny wins out.

    3. DNC shills all up in this thread. Fire them for calling someone a pretentious old broad on their grave.

Maybe she was, or not. I dunno, what's it matter? I can think for myself and as a musician I do recognize she was a talented poet, which is rare art form these days. At the same time, she was a leftist tool used to expand the political ignorance of the marxist wanne-be's. Calling her a pretentious broad doesn't quite cover it all, but, you might get the gist.

    1. Why, then, do you tolerate the same or worse disgust from "life isn't fair and I deserve better" Karel Bouhley? You know, "It's all about" - the red carpet entertainer" who really believes we shouldn't honor our war dead on Memorial Day, or have Jews to memoialize the Holocaust with "buildings that should be bulldoze an a park be built." No 9/11 museum. "It's too expensive. People won't go." And pity "the poor kid who shot those stuents in Santa Barbara because if we didn't take the guns away, he and the others would still be alive if the police had done their job."

You know, the gay flamer who believes that his way of thinking on gay marriage is the only way to think and "i had the marriage with my late husband Andrew to prove it, honey."

Where are the bags full of mail, emails, and phone calls in revolt to that piece of shit who only thinks "all things progressivelly left"?

I can't wait till that douche is removed. Maybe it will happen if he gets pissed again for Cumulus not buying him a plane ticket to San Jose on June 8 for the "debate" in all it's flaunted glory.

Extreme left radical hate radio is so popular, right? So why is everyone killing it off, including Clear Channel, Cumulus and anyone with any sense? The GOP is doing themselves in quite well all by themselves!

Wise people have always told us of the perils of hatred: That it is all-consuming, like a wolf inside the Hater, gnawing away from the interior. "Wrath," says Shakespeare, makes one "Deaf."

For decades, Republicans have preached Hatred -- of government, of bureaucrats, of the indigent as "moochers" (they save their great love for the wealthy), and now Hatred of President Barack Obama and his signature health care law. The Tea Party, while more radical than mainstream Republicans, shares with them the party's Signature Motive Force: HATRED!

      So keep it RightWing Hater's.

I didn't agree with Margaret Thatcher on much, but that didn't mean I couldn't admire her for her accomplishment, and feel a little sad when she died. It is so sad that we have come to a point where you have to agree with someone on almost everything to admire them or feel sad when they died. I feel very strongly many Americans have forgotten to think for themselves. Everything has to be divided republicans or democrats, black or white, not much in between for someone as independent as American's (although I have lived here for many years I was born and raised in Denmark) they seem to have trouble having truly independent thoughts. Although I'm not a fan of Spencer Hughes (heard 9 a.m. to noon on KSFO) he was very graceful when Pete Seeger died, said he didn't agree with his politics, but he was an amazing talent and had an amazing life, many could learn a little from that.

  16. The reason that fools such as Armstrong and Getty are hired in the first place, is that most of the people who run radio today have zero clue about what they're doing. They depend on 'consultants' who are usually failed broadcasters, and they take their cues from bean counters, who could care less about quality broascasting and responsibility to the public. Our once prestigious radio business has unfortunately been co-opted by a bunch of corporate weasels who's only interest is the bottom line and fattening their own flaccid bodies. It is a sad state of affairs and I feel badly for anyone who hopes to make a living in this industry today.

    1. Have you ever operated and run a radio station? Do you think it's free? Do you think the government pays businesses to run them? The answer is no. Also, if you owned a radio station, where do you think the funding comes from to pay people, keep the transmitter running, and all that comes from? Just by people who have deep pockets and nothing else to do with their money? No.

As for "Public Responsibility" there are no such rules. Broadcasting in the "public need, interest and trust" is not "responsibility". You buy a station, provide an FCC Public Files showing what you do to "serve the public interest" and that's it. If you don't make it, tough luck. If you do make it with advertisers to support you, great!

The FCC or the "free market" could care less what you do as an owner, that's up to you -- not the listener. If what you do isn't good enough to make money, you're out of business.

In a market with 50+ rado stations, they all can't be the same. So, companies look for "niches" that don't exist, or do it better than the next guy and this creates a "diversity." Sometimes it works, sometime not.

According to Neilsen, KKSF has a 1.2 (percent) "share" of the total audience and just over 204,000 people listening. KGO, bad as it is, has twice that audience and only a 2.0 share.

Among 50+ stations, KKSF is rated way lower (making no money) and KGO is stuck in the mud and sinking. Not many advertisers believe in it anymore. A&G are pitiful to KKSF in the morning.

    1. Plus, Clear Channel, Cumulus, Entercom an most all of the "big boys" carry what's called "E & O" comprehensive liability insurance. "E" for Errors and and "O" for "Ommissions."

Though pricey, news and talk stations can ill afford to be without it

If your business is a radio station and one of your DJs or personalities expresses a slanderous opinion, your business can be held liable for their actions. The lawsuit that follows can easily end up costing you six figures, and what's more, it can pin your business with a bad reputation. General Liability Insurance can pay your legal bills and let you focus on repairing your business's reputation. E&O coverage, in addition to General Liability, prevents those legal suits from sponsors, listeners, politicians and others while permitting the jocks or personalities "say what they want ... within reason." It protects against losses of revenues.

Back in the day, Imus In The Morning on 66 W-ENNNNN-Bee-Cee lost a multi-million dollar acount for Air Lingus Airlines of Ireland. He said "Fly Air Lingus to Dublin, London and other cities from New York. Catholics must fly coach."

The agency cancelled the account and the station did not have E&O insurance, which, back in the 70s, was usually reserved for print, newspapers and television. Then came Stern and so many others, right through to today's crop of "entertainers."

It's the liberal agenda giving these affirmative action "artists" any undeserved credibility. Lowering the bar doesn't make society any better and shouldn't that be the goal - to better ones self and make a better world for the next generation? 24. To 12:02 am...guess what? Stations are assigned bands on Am and FM, and companies use them to make money. 'Responsibility to the public?' That is something that has virtually disappeared with the deregulation of the media and the passing of the Communications Act of 1995 which allowed the mega-companies to buy more than one or two radio or TV stations per market. They've been dumbing down the 'product' ever since.

Small market and medium market radio, where young broadcasters used to start to get their experience and make their mistakes is nearly a thing of the past. Stations in smaller towns have consolidated and it's rare, unless they're owned by a smaller, 'botique' company, for them to have on-air staff of more than a handful of announcers.

Well into the 1990s, and for over 4 decades, this was not the case. Stations did what they could to serve the public, do community programs, get involved with what was going on, have their broadcasters out in the community.

Listen to some of the programming now that's on the radio and you'll hear more syndicated programs coming out of Dallas, NYC, Bristol Conn, etc with upwards of 25 minutes of commercials an hour.

Don't give me any bull carp about how stations have to be 'fiscally responsible.' They are making a killing by selling massive amounts of air time and cutting staff and giving the public a steady stream of virtually nothing but noise and nonsense.

The only real place where you can get any in depth information anymore for local or national news is NPR.

  26. I have to say, that though 9:42 was venting a little of his/her spleen, I can't entirely disagree with them. Yes, they were venting, but the right wing in this country, especially the tea party is so deluded and really quite out of step with mainstream America. The GOP has been in tatters for nearly 8 years now, and yet all you hear on Fox TV and on corporate talk radio are the same tired talking points. Intelligent talk shows have been co opted by the likes of Limbaugh, Hannity, and dysfunctional egomaniacs such as Michael Savage, (not his real name by the way.)

The fact is that a lot of people are tired of being squeezed dry by big-time corporate America, which has weakened our once great country by doing its best to destroy the middle class. When CEOs are making 400 times more than their employees, (and most of the worker-bees are just getting by), something is seriously wrong.

But Limbaugh and Hannity always talk about how the "market will take care of itself," and that the idea of any kind of financial aid to the less fortunate is tantamount to '"socialism."

I think those guys should take a little history test. From 1900 through the 1920s, the Socialists in this country polled pretty respectably in the national and regional elections. I'm not promoting Socialism here, but a little more leveling of the playing field wouldn't be such a bad idea if we as a country, want to survive and stay healthy.

After all, you're only as strong as your weakest link, and right now America's one-time strength has been bled white.
