Armstrong and Getty, a bunch of human excrement poops from Sacramento on the radio began chortling over the death of Maya Angelou this morning on their show. The lead moron referred to the iconic figure as a "pretentious old broad." Here's the idiocy proof at the podcast beginning at 20: 22 --Unbelievable.
This is a cliche but these assholes began laughing and giggling before the body was cold. And in between, some jokes too.
Evil fiends wouldn't resort to this. Serial killers have more savvy. What were these schmucks thinking? Wait, that would require a brain.
I only wish these guys get some karma back.
I hope through the mechanisms of human decency and outrage people call out these disgusting sick lizards and let their bosses know how tacky and revolting their brand of humor is--clearly, these penis-heads possess no tact.

I usually don't agree with Lieberman, but he's right on this time....let's give these guys the boot, just like Donald Sterling. Any market in the USA, no matter how small, shouldn't tolerate this kind of disgrace.
ReplyDeleteHonestly curious -- who here as gone onlline or to either KGO or the theater in San Jose and actually purchased an $8.10 ticket to the All Star Debate?
DeleteHow many people have received "free tickets" in an effort for KGO to "paper" the veitnue?
Lastly, it's ok -- but why are you going? Thank you.
See you there!

I have listened to A&G for years, and think they can be very funny, they tend to insult both sides of the aisle, although they seem to have gotten more right wing in the past few years (since Obama was elected? I don't think they are racist as such, but they seem to push the envelope more than they use to). If what Rich is writing is true, and I have no reason to believe it is not, they went way over the edge and I have lost a lot of respect for them. Problem is there are not really a good morning show available, Sussman and Katie Green, just as bad, and not funny what so ever, Glenn Beck, can be interesting, but just as he comes of as reasonable he says something, that totally dispelled that notion. I switched back and forth between the three, as soon as Sussman starts in on Joe Biden I try Glenn Beck or A&G, whoever is most reasonable and perhaps funny wins out.
DeleteDNC shills all up in this thread. Fire them for calling someone a pretentious old broad on their grave.
DeleteMaybe she was, or not. I dunno, what's it matter? I can think for myself and as a musician I do recognize she was a talented poet, which is rare art form these days. At the same time, she was a leftist tool used to expand the political ignorance of the marxist wanne-be's. Calling her a pretentious broad doesn't quite cover it all, but, you might get the gist.
They shouldn't even be getting attention on this blog. IGNORE THEIR IGNORANCE!
ReplyDeleteWhy, then, do you tolerate the same or worse disgust from "life isn't fair and I deserve better" Karel Bouhley? You know, "It's all about" - the red carpet entertainer" who really believes we shouldn't honor our war dead on Memorial Day, or have Jews to memoialize the Holocaust with "buildings that should be bulldoze an a park be built." No 9/11 museum. "It's too expensive. People won't go." And pity "the poor kid who shot those stuents in Santa Barbara because if we didn't take the guns away, he and the others would still be alive if the police had done their job."
DeleteYou know, the gay flamer who believes that his way of thinking on gay marriage is the only way to think and "i had the marriage with my late husband Andrew to prove it, honey."
Where are the bags full of mail, emails, and phone calls in revolt to that piece of shit who only thinks "all things progressivelly left"?
I can't wait till that douche is removed. Maybe it will happen if he gets pissed again for Cumulus not buying him a plane ticket to San Jose on June 8 for the "debate" in all it's flaunted glory.
It's bad on both sides of the talk radio dial. Hate talk spoken here.
2:48, Sorry it's far, far worse on the Republican Hate Radio Dial!
DeleteAre you aware of who is supporting RightWing Talk Radio? It's not the ratings, friends.....
Without the Koch Brothers created Tea Party (AMERICANS FOR PROPERTY) and other big-money groups who want to rabble rouse the people with twisted lies....there would be no Right Wing Propaganda Radio whatsoever.
Don't believe me?

*****Please Rich last time you did not let me post this.
People don't know, everywhere I read posts saying, 'Well Rightwing Radio is more successful because people want this message'.
That's bunk! It's Big money who wants to screw America, pay less taxes, pollute our skies, Frack America's fresh water tables!
It must exhausting living life as an hysterical ninny. Lighten up.
Deleteso what, 3:52? Tea Partiers bit the big kielbasa in a half dozen primaries last week, Koch Bros. or not. Big time.
DeleteDon't forget, your side has that lovable old vote buyer billionaire George Soros who buys elections in whole. Soros can chew the Koch Bros. up --- and spit them out.
Extreme left radical hate radio is so popular, right? So why is everyone killing it off, including Clear Channel, Cumulus and anyone with any sense? Let's see, no Randi Rhodes, Miller is in the toilet, no Bill Press at a decent hour, Alan Colmes is still smarting from the asswhipping Hannity gave him and that leave Thom Hartmann. Can't make any money that way. Go take your "logic" about radio left and right and shove it up your ass.
George Soros called. He wants his money back unless the TV and cable networks push that left wing agenda more.
DeleteThere's is nobody pushing the Left Wing Agenda!
DeleteNo Liberal Radio whatsoever now. No TV Station 24/7 "Hate The Democrats...Hate The President".
It's all happening quite naturally as people see the viciousness of Republican actions. Suppressing The Vote: Six Hours standing in line to Vote in Florida...HORRIBLE! Here in CA it takes 10 Minutes to vote and you're out of there, Republican's hating Gays and Women's Rights!
The GOP is doing themselves in quite well all by themselves!
Wise people have always told us of the perils of hatred: That it is all-consuming, like a wolf inside the Hater, gnawing away from the interior. "Wrath," says Shakespeare, makes one "Deaf."
For decades, Republicans have preached Hatred -- of government, of bureaucrats, of the indigent as "moochers" (they save their great love for the wealthy), and now Hatred of President Barack Obama and his signature health care law. The Tea Party, while more radical than mainstream Republicans, shares with them the party's Signature Motive Force: HATRED!
So keep it RightWing Hater's.
As we watch annihilation of The Republican Party....
Right before our very eyes!
Agreed, Rich. They look like a couple of zeroes. I normally wouldn't say this, but I hope these nobodies end up losing their jobs over this. Serves them right.
ReplyDeleteNational show Hardly a couple zeros. And you want them to lose their careers over this? Typical lefty totalitarian.
DeleteThey won't. Much today about jjust juvenile pin-head bad humor from two "pretentious" know-nothing bad morning guys who only think they're hot excrement. Their ratings prove it.
Delete"National Show"...LOL. That's funnier than anything they've ever said/done. Seriously.
DeleteA&G are not a national show, they are on in Sacramento and one San Francisco station, that is not national. And good god, what happened to Joe Getty he use to be decent looking, I guess they are getting older, as we all are, but he looks like a wild man.
DeleteFuck you, liberal white cunt.
DeleteHillary Clinton would be asking, "what difference does it make?"
ReplyDeleteInterestingly enough, Richard Clark thinks George Bush should be tried for war crimes. I say let's hold Hillary's feet to the fire after Bush is led away in handcuffs.

@3:34, what difference does it make?
Delete@3:34 selling our country out to non citizens for votes doesn't compare to the "Reign of terror"?. Or your savior Clinton taking food and gas out of the way they calculate inflation to screw millions of seniors out of cost of living increases all these years while pandering to non citizens and dumping money into programs to support them. Do those count?
DeleteGive it a rest 3:19.
DeleteClinton had 8-10 shots at OBL and didn't take them. Bush had to clean up the mess Wild Bill left behind.
To be fair, it was just Armstrong.
ReplyDeleteFor those of us who don't listen to Talk910, what did they say exactly?
ReplyDeleteWhat EXACTLY did they say when they were laughing? This doesn't make any sense.
ReplyDeleteI've heard OF them ... but, I've never heard them. I guess it's just as well.
ReplyDeleteAside from the wonderful, and legendary "Bob and Ray", I can't think of a radio twosome that was worth the listening time.
Does anyone have a link to actual audio? This sounds like another Rich Lieberman imaginary story.

DeleteThe clip is at 20:24 into hour #1 (6:00 am). I listen to their show more than I would like to admit. Sometimes funny and interesting to hear other views, especially on mass shootings. Also, Clear Channel fired the producer, Domnick Brascia, yesterday. He was doing a podcast in addition to his regular duties. He must have stepped on some big toes. Ken Charles is the program manager and sometimes fills in on air at KFBK in Sacramento. He is also a big time exec. with CC.
DeleteArmstrong and Getty should sue Lieberman for slander.
ReplyDeleteLieberman has shown no proof they said anything.

Delete"Pretentious old broad"? These pricks are "pretentious old fucks." This is what we get, 910 listeners, when radio -- especially Clear Channel -- tries way too hard to "out edge" the edgy for them younger kids. You can't go over the top if you don't try. The problem with Armstrong & Getty is they're are trying to be Sussman in drag and don't do it at all. These guys suck. There comments weren't funny and they make no sense. Big deal. How's that 2.1 share holdin' ya, asswipes? In Sacto, too and San Diego? ON AM IN SF? You've got to be kidding.
DeleteClear channel is not only trying to figure out whether to fire Bob Pittman as CEO, finding some debt money revenue from somewhere or ust giving up trying. Lazy radio.
I'm going to listen more just to see what they say next. This is shocking!
DeleteYou can't legislate ignorance or stupidity
DeleteA&G suck and Sussman does not, are you serious. Sussman is the worst, A&G actually manage to be funny once in awhile, and I have heard them do some decent interviews, and they are a little unpredictable, I have heard them interview Chris Matthews, and other left leaning personalities, Sussman is soo predictable, his personality is boring and nerdy. He says Listen Folks this is serious, and he is totally preoccupied with Joe Biden.
DeleteOh it wasn't THAT bad. But the show itself is beyond awful.
ReplyDeleteBye, Bye, Armstrong & Getty!
ReplyDeleteshe was a pretentious old broad. So what.
DeleteMay you 5:47 never ever be anywhere near as old as Maya Angelou. There, feel better?
DeleteSo Christine wishes early death on those who don't share her reverence for an old leftist hack. Nice friends you have here, Rich. Good job Christine, it's always nice when you liberal loons speak as nasty as you think. You are adorable when you get self-righteous.
DeleteChristine, the title of pretentious old broad is right there of the taking. I suggest you run with it.
DeleteChristine is a pretentious, not quite as old broad.
DeleteGod, I hope I never get to be THAT old.
DeleteAmen Christine, first of all Maya Angelou had an amazing life, she was an amazing women, why does one have to agree with her politics to honor her as the amazing person she was. I didn't agree with Margaret Thatcher on much, but that didn't mean I couldn't admire her for her accomplishment, and feel a little sad when she died. It is so sad that we have come to a point where you have to agree with someone on almost everything to admire them or feel sad when they died. I feel very strongly many Americans have forgotten to think for themselves. Everything has to be divided republicans or democrats, black or white, not much in between for someone as independent as American's (although I have lived here for many years I was born and raised in Denmark) they seem to have trouble having truly independent thoughts. Although I'm not a fan of Spencer Hughes (heard 9 a.m. to noon on KSFO) he was very graceful when Pete Seeger died, said he didn't agree with his politics, but he was an amazing talent and had an amazing life, many could learn a little from that.
DeleteThey are Ass Clowns
ReplyDeleteShe was a far left whackjob. What does the fact that she is African American have to do with anything Rich? She is black so therefore beyond reproach? Lame. Faux outrage. I least I hope it is.
ReplyDeleteYou're over thinking this a bit too much. Rich didn't say or imply that AA folks are beyond reproach (this time). It's simply bad manners to speak ill of the dead.
DeleteWhat IS interesting is that Rich has willfully posted reader comments in very poor taste on his own blog about news folks recently passed.
She's the only poet I'm aware of, so let me put it this way...I'm not a fan of poetry.
5:57 is obviously a pea-brained, low-life nit-wit who knows nothing about Maya Angelou. The woman was a fine poet, actress and activist. A 'far-left whackjob?' From what kind of lame brained, bigoted fool did you spring from anyway? What do you even really know about America? It sounds as if you belong back in the 19th century, when bigots were the norm. You really need to either grow up or climb back into your miserable little rat-hole. You're a sad excuse for a human being, if that's the way you really feel. I pity you Mr or Ms Pathetic!
ReplyDeleteThe reason that fools such as Armstrong and Getty are hired in the first place, is that most of the people who run radio today have zero clue about what they're doing. They depend on 'consultants' who are usually failed broadcasters, and they take their cues from bean counters, who could care less about quality broascasting and responsibility to the public. Our once prestigious radio business has unfortunately been co-opted by a bunch of corporate weasels who's only interest is the bottom line and fattening their own flaccid bodies. It is a sad state of affairs and I feel badly for anyone who hopes to make a living in this industry today.
ReplyDeleteHave you ever operated and run a radio station? Do you think it's free? Do you think the government pays businesses to run them? The answer is no. Also, if you owned a radio station, where do you think the funding comes from to pay people, keep the transmitter running, and all that comes from? Just by people who have deep pockets and nothing else to do with their money? No.
DeleteAs for "Public Responsibility" there are no such rules. Broadcasting in the "public need, interest and trust" is not "responsibility". You buy a station, provide an FCC Public Files showing what you do to "serve the public interest" and that's it. If you don't make it, tough luck. If you do make it with advertisers to support you, great!
The FCC or the "free market" could care less what you do as an owner, that's up to you -- not the listener. If what you do isn't good enough to make money, you're out of business.
In a market with 50+ rado stations, they all can't be the same. So, companies look for "niches" that don't exist, or do it better than the next guy and this creates a "diversity." Sometimes it works, sometime not.
According to Neilsen, KKSF has a 1.2 (percent) "share" of the total audience and just over 204,000 people listening. KGO, bad as it is, has twice that audience and only a 2.0 share.
Among 50+ stations, KKSF is rated way lower (making no money) and KGO is stuck in the mud and sinking. Not many advertisers believe in it anymore. A&G are pitiful to KKSF in the morning.
Love you, A & G! Call 'em like you see 'em. At least you ain't no "poser" as someone on this blog constantly rails against.
ReplyDeleteAnd, in fact, she was pretentious.
ReplyDeleteWould you read poems by Marge Johnson, I think not. And neither did 'Maya Angelou'.
You've heard her; that voice and its delivery, Pretentious? I think so.
So this is the reason not to listen to them? Does anyone still?
ReplyDeleteIf people didn't tune in to stations that have morons like this on there wouldn't be morons like this on. When they do, they get what they evidently want.
This is all about Lieberman telling the world what a caring sensitive guy he is.
ReplyDeleteEither Armstrong or Getty, which ever one it was, comment was tasteless but hardly merits Lieberman's self-righteous indignation.
Plus, Clear Channel, Cumulus, Entercom an most all of the "big boys" carry what's called "E & O" comprehensive liability insurance. "E" for Errors and and "O" for "Ommissions."
DeleteThough pricey, news and talk stations can ill afford to be without it
If your business is a radio station and one of your DJs or personalities expresses a slanderous opinion, your business can be held liable for their actions. The lawsuit that follows can easily end up costing you six figures, and what's more, it can pin your business with a bad reputation. General Liability Insurance can pay your legal bills and let you focus on repairing your business's reputation. E&O coverage, in addition to General Liability, prevents those legal suits from sponsors, listeners, politicians and others while permitting the jocks or personalities "say what they want ... within reason." It protects against losses of revenues.
Back in the day, Imus In The Morning on 66 W-ENNNNN-Bee-Cee lost a multi-million dollar acount for Air Lingus Airlines of Ireland. He said "Fly Air Lingus to Dublin, London and other cities from New York. Catholics must fly coach."
The agency cancelled the account and the station did not have E&O insurance, which, back in the 70s, was usually reserved for print, newspapers and television. Then came Stern and so many others, right through to today's crop of "entertainers."
.
Rich, you leave My Boys alone!!. They are completely correct! I enjoyed some aspects of Maya, in fact I met her some thirty years ago in Detroit, but seriously, she was no deity or ball of light. Maya was a good psychologist of people and a good storyteller. Maya was Oprah before Oprah was Oprah.
ReplyDeletePretentious is being KIND. Let's face it many so called "poets" who are "voices" of their communities are really talentless hacks. The same goes for calling "rap" music. It's the liberal agenda giving these affirmative action "artists" any undeserved credibility. Lowering the bar doesn't make society any better and shouldn't that be the goal - to better ones self and make a better world for the next generation? I don't think the drive-by hip hop thug culture with it's "culture ambassadors" like Angelou is contributing anything.
ReplyDeleteRight on!
DeleteThese guys look like a couple douche bags.
ReplyDeleteAre they both Prop. 8?
To 12:02 am...guess what? Stations are assigned bands on Am and FM, and companies use them to make money. 'Responsibility to the public?' That is something that has virtually disappeared with the deregulation of the media and the passing of the Communications Act of 1995 which allowed the mega-companies to buy more than one or two radio or TV stations per market. They've been dumbing down the 'product' ever since.
ReplyDeleteSmall market and medium market radio, where young broadcasters used to start to get their experience and make their mistakes is nearly a thing of the past. Stations in smaller towns have consolidated and it's rare, unless they're owned by a smaller, 'botique' company, for them to have on-air staff of more than a handful of announcers.
Well into the 1990s, and for over 4 decades, this was not the case. Stations did what they could to serve the public, do community programs, get involved with what was going on, have their broadcasters out in the community.
Listen to some of the programming now that's on the radio and you'll hear more syndicated programs coming out of Dallas, NYC, Bristol Conn, etc with upwards of 25 minutes of commercials an hour.
Don't give me any bull carp about how stations have to be 'fiscally responsible.' They are making a killing by selling massive amounts of air time and cutting staff and giving the public a steady stream of virtually nothing but noise and nonsense.
The only real place where you can get any in depth information anymore for local or national news is NPR.
12:02 am has obviously never worked in the on-air side of the business, else he or she wouldn't make such misinformed remarks.
> The only real place where you can get any in depth information anymore for
Delete> local or national news is NPR.
Err, no it's not. NPR is as commercialized and homogenized as anything. They lie and lie incessantly.
The best place to learn about what America is doing is to read foreign newspapers and websites, particularly Al Jazeera. You'd be amazed about the things going on in the world that everyone but us, in the "freest country on earth," knows about.
It's amazing how the bigots and the right wing haters come out when something like Maya Angelou's death is in the news. I think it's a reaction from folks who hate, yes, HATE affirmative action, people of different stripes, and strong women, because they (the folks writing this bile), are seeing that that caucasian men are losing their toehold and don't have the power they once had.
ReplyDeleteWell guess what you pathetic, nit-picking little fools! It's going to get worse for you. You don't like Obama? Guess what, the next President of the US might be a woman! Oh woe....that would just be too much for these insecure, pompous cretins to handle.
Keep pumping out the tripe though. It makes for entertaining reading!
9:42 am is an example of the voter who chooses their leaders based on the candidates' "Lady Parts" or based on how dark the candidates skin is. For voters like 9.42, voting is not about getting the right leaders and fiscal caretakers, voting primarily to earn Brownie Points that show what a good little Progressive Drone they are. Faulty data goes in and faulty data comes out, they don't discern, and they never learn. Doubling down on stupidity if it brings more Brownie Points.
DeleteIt must be exhausting living in paranoid fantasy world like 9:42am does. Sweeping generalizations and abject hatred of people who just don't think exactly like you. Funny.
DeleteI have to say, that though 9:42 was venting a little of his/her spleen, I can't entirely disagree with them. Yes, they were venting, but the right wing in this country, especially the tea party is so deluded and really quite out of step with mainstream America. The GOP has been in tatters for nearly 8 years now, and yet all you hear on Fox TV and on corporate talk radio are the same tired talking points. Intelligent talk shows have been co opted by the likes of Limbaugh, Hannity, and dysfunctional egomaniacs such as Michael Savage, (not his real name by the way.)
ReplyDeleteThe fact is that a lot of people are tired of being squeezed dry by big-time corporate America, which has weakened our once great country by doing its best to destroy the middle class. When CEOs are making 400 times more than their employees, (and most of the worker-bees are just getting by), something is seriously wrong.
But Limbaugh and Hannity always talk about how the "market will take care of itself," and that the idea of any kind of financial aid to the less fortunate is tantamount to '"socialism."
I think those guys should take a little history test. From 1900 through the 1920s, the Socialists in this country polled pretty respectably in the national and regional elections. I'm not promoting Socialism here, but a little more leveling of the playing field wouldn't be such a bad idea if we as a country, want to survive and stay healthy.
After all, you're only as strong as your weakest link, and right now America's one-time strength has been bled white.
> Limbaugh and Hannity always talk about how the "market will take care of itself,"
ReplyDelete> and that the idea of any kind of financial aid to the less fortunate is tantamount
> to '"socialism."
When you look at the countries that have the highest standard of living in the world, the lowest poverty, the highest achievements in education, the most Nobel prizes, the lowest crime, etc., the top eight or so are always socialist countries.
These "socialist" countries often have less regulation and more economic freedom that America has today.
DeleteWhat does it matter at this point?
DeleteThose countries also have populations less than most states, homogeneous population of all whites, most one religion, and few own homes, but all live in tiny apartments or rental homes. Europe isn't the swell place you socialist Nazis think it is.
Delete
