My Mom took a pretty bad fall --we thought she was OK until the pain began to worsen today and I took her to ER at Summit Hospital in Oakland.
She broke 5 ribs and nearly a 6th.
She's in pain, (understandably), but in 4-6 weeks, God willing, she should be OK provided she follows instructions. She's walking and her vitals are good, but the ribs are a sensitive area for anyone, let alone a 90-year old lady, but a real trooper, my Mom, she will make her way out of this.
I'm going to take a few days off.
Thank you all for understanding.
A special thanks to all the ER doctors and nurses at Summit/Alta Bates Hospital in Oakland, especially, Sarah, who attended to my mom and comforted here.
Nurses are the greatest.

ReplyDeleteRich I am glad you are helping your mom out. My dad is 93 and mom is 90 and every day is an adventure for them! Luckily, they have 24/7 live in care, but my sister and I try to get over and help and visit as much as possible. Hope your mom feels better!
