The pithy Tim Montemayor; Larry Krueger solo; Ralph Barbieri on Lieberman Live Dec 30

Tim Montemayor isn't a bad guy really. It's just too bad that he doesn't do a particularly good radio show on KGO, (weekends, 10 AM- 1 PM).

The "Monty Show" is a bevy full of pregnant pauses--that's radio talk for dead air on purpose; two-three seconds of silence the host intentionally utilizes because he wants you to think about what he said, only the Monty here doesn't say much and when he does say it, it doesn't sound authentic.

Why does KGO have Montemayor on? (He also does occasionally fill in for Ronn) The Monty man is KGO, namely management guys Paul Hosely and Jared Hart, trying to appeal to the young demo even though the young demo at KGO is probably a pair of interns on furlough from the SF State broadcasting dept.

*Larry Krueger, KNBR sports tonsil, solo: an X's and O's radio guy that alone, works better at night when the sun sets and women aren't near the radio and are out with their girlfriends.

*Former KNBR vet talk-host, Ralph Barbieri, is scheduled to appear on my radio show from 8-10 PM on Sunday, Dec 30. Appointment radio? Well, damn! Yes.

*Follow me on Twitter and support the well-being of my stalkers.

  1. Didn't like the job he did filling in for the KNBR morning show folks today. He didn't follow the drive-time formula.

  2. Have to agree with Rich about Krueger. Alone in the morning Krueger is having a hard time keeping the show interesting. The banter with Kate doesn't work and I end up changing the station or turning the radio off.

One more point about Krueger. When he first joined Radnich, he was obviously happy to be on the air and on his best behavior. I've noticed lately that he's becoming more belligerent and more of a know-it-all.

I don't mind these guys having a strong opinion, that's their job, but Krueger is starting to come across as kind of an angry, belligerent guy.

  3. I don't think Monty is very good and don't really know anyone who listens to his show. No one has ever mentioned him to me and if I ever do bring up his name people have no idea who he is. That says enough when you consider KGO from a historical perspective. I just don't understand why then he is the subject of this post, or any other? He is what he is and he is not going to get better.

    1. I tried with this guy. I really did. But there is no getting around his real problem >Monty is just not very smart< He is without question the LEAST intelligent host in the history of KGO radio.

There is no fixing stupid. And it appears there's no fixing KGO

  4. Agree with 10:06 about Monty on KNBR. Weird to hear him on both KGO and KNBR. One day he's talking about Connecticut school killings...the next he's talking about 49ers chances in Seattle.

  5. It will be interesting to here Ralph and find out what he's doing. Annoying as he was Tom nor any of his new sidekicks are better than both as a team..

  6. After a segment on the north pole and the fat man,Marla Tellez cooed "Give Santa a big hug for me"...then Christina Loren in a very sultry way said " And don't tell me you haven't been on his naughty list"..ooooh. Then, the studio lights went out.
My guess?,the sexual tension caused the fuses to trip in the heat.
    I'm still breathing hard...

  7. Monty and Kozimor should do a show to see who could be more unctuous, more phony and kiss the most ass in three hours... I bet even Eddie Haskell couldn't take it.
Ralph, huh? Could be very entertaining; hard to believe his attorney is letting him do the show. Let's see how much vitriol, vanity, surliness and two dollar words he can spew; all in the name of "passion".

  8. Monty has ZERO credibility talking about either sports or politics in this area. He's not from here, he washed out of several other stations, and his loud-mouth, 'I know it all' attitude is annoying and immature to say the least. I mentioned his name and asked a friend of mine if that had heard his show, and the response was: "one word, unlistenable!" But I guess it's indicative of the quality of talent that Cumulus media is hiring these days!

    1. Most of the 'talent' on the radio is from out of market hacks. Sad that Bay Area radio has lost credibility

      Delete
  9. Ralph is still pissed off about the way Cumulus so rudely showed him the door. That will be an interesting show to hear when you get him on Rich.

Make sure you get him to talk about the folks at Cumulus. As you know, Ralph is suing Cumulus for wrongful termination, and I think that the Dickhead brothers will settle out of court by paying him a nice chunk of change. They don't want any more noise or nonsense in the media about this sad little tale.

  10. Krueger needs to let his guests give their opinion. He spends so much time trying to show his knowledge that the expert guest time is cut short.

  11. Tim Montemayor affectionately also known as Montemanure (pile of dung) and Monteminor (pile of nothing) is the most sophomoric and annoying talk show host I've ever heard on KGO on so many levels. 1) Big loud ass voice yelling into the mic 2) EIGHTY EIGHTY EIGHT TEN 3) Before going to a break he uses music and a prerecorded announcer to make an over dramatic ”tease” of the topic at hand 4) He really thinks he is a deep thinker. I gave the guy 4 shows to grab me but he is just not good enough. The most infuriating part is that his show is geared towards a nonexistent demographic while it insults the intelligence of the over 30 crowd. To borrow a Willie Brown quote: Montemanure and that idiot self serving chef Ryan ”I know how to caramalize deez nuts” Scott are a disgrace to humanity.

    ReplyDelete
  12. KGO scraped the bottom of the barrel and got Monty and Karel.

The true talk show hosts are all gone.

Ronn could be good if it were not for his handler

    ReplyDelete
  13. Why all this talk about 'Montemanure?' He's not even worth the time to mention. Hacks like him are a dim a dozen!

    ReplyDelete
  14. Larry Krueger kicks ass in all day parts. At last... No mindless babbling about the Grateful Dead or Springsteen. He sure beats those 2 homers who are normally on.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Montemayor is absolutely horrible!!! You're correct too many pregnant pauses, he uses the telephone number as a friggin crutch and why does everything have to be breaking news? I didn't think I was watching Fox News!!! He is barely a step up from college radio. I guess he licks management in the right places to keep him on the air. I don't have an opinion on KNBR because I don't listen to that station at all.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Hey Rich...quick question: Why is the local media so full of no talent blowhards these days such as Tim Montemayer? Why do people like Hosley and Hart, who would seem to know better, hire these kind of people?

    ReplyDelete
  17. I still think Katie Scott is the prettiest tomboy in the Bay Area.

  18. Ask Ralph, that we don't miss his lousy pizza and that we think he is a lazy phony who stop following sports 10 years ago

    ReplyDelete
  19. If you want to ask Ralph what nobody asks..ask "What does the management say about the white skin talkers only slant at KNBR?" Ralph is suing because of disability discrimination..but in my life, any company that does that also discriminates at everything more often then not. It's a mindset from the company President/ CEO on down.
And ask about Bruce's banning by Baer,Gary Plummer's firing..all the dirt. Why Dibs left..
And Raddy and Bob?,I hear none have sent Ralph any get well cards. Ralph might have some feeling about that.
    Me.

  20. I am not able to judge Monte as far as sports, but it seemed odd to me that he was in Hawaii on vacation during the World Series when San Francisco was playing. Isn't he one of the sports guys on KGO?
I agree that he just isn't very good on his show. He does think that he is a deep thinker, but he is a shallow thinker. I do agree with many of his points of view, but he repeats himself constantly, he doesn't go deeper into a subject and he doesn't have a discussion with his callers. They call, they speak, he thanks them for the call and then he goes right back to the exact comments that he made before as if he is Mr. Wisdom. It's awful. That said, I don't hate him as a person like I do Limbaugh, but he is awful to listen to.

  21. Timmy M is a nut case who claimed that he has done blue collar work. If you think about it, he is so full of shit. Timmy M. should learn how to do a show by studying Rich or Savage or Wattenberg on how to do a radio show. This guy can't do it due to the fact that he does not know much. Say. Timmy M, are you feed enough crap to Jared H. and Paul H., to tell them that you are worth your paycheck?

  22. This is on an unrelated topic. I was enjoying Jackie Bennett's luscious weather forecast at 11pm on Friday, then Pam Moore came on to give unemployment news and next to her head there was an ad that read: Sponsored by Cash N Call! 24. Christine Craft is filling in for big mouth Montemanure. She is providing us with information as to why she is an aspergers expert and why she is gung ho over guns...

    ReplyDelete

    1. You got that right. I really used to like Christine Craft, but something has changed her into an angry, bitter woman. She wants teachers to have guns (if they are trained to shoot) in classrooms. Yeah, that is a really bright idea--a gun in every classroom. Somewhere along the line, this country is going to have to make some changes to reduce the number of guns and to stop glorifying violence.

    2. what experience directly do you have with autism? I worked at Devereaux school in Santa Barbara counselling such patients for two years and then later in life, as a lawyer helping their parents get special needs trusts andother support. That means I have an informed point of view that you think I shouldn't express. Tough. And since you are sure that it is a bad idea to fight back when you are being shot and people are being shot..that doesn't make me either angry or bitter, just more protected than you are. Your choice. I think it would be a great idea to arm well-trained by law enforcement teachers who are then, after qualifying and desirous of having a permit to carry, are DEPUTIZED, that those teachers have weapons..then at least there is a chance to save their lives and the lives of kidlets. You don't think so. I think those teachers who are adept as described should get additional pay for the additional responsibility. We can't afford armed cops in every school, this would deal with that problem. Apparently you think that crazy shooters should have no such impediment. No gun regs that come out of this recent situation will stop a single similar incident, but that's okay by you. Apparently you agreed with me about the "glorification of violence " part, but still thought I was angry and bitter. funny, that.

    3. Agree with 11:19 about Craft. I used to like her too. Now she seems unhinged, very angry and bitter.

The Newtown tragedy has brought out the worst in Christine. It's all belligerent boasting about her gun knowledge, her personal trauma with guns, and her nutty asperger's theories.

    4. Christine,
Your 1:13 comment that appeared after my 1:16 simply confirms everything that has been said about you.

Only true gun fetishists (Christine, Wayne Lapierre) would suggest the solution to the the overarming of the United States population (owning 50% of the world's guns) would be to put guns in more peoples hands. Wayne Lapierre, as the head of the NRA, is at least paid by the gun industry to increase gun sales, so has an excuse for pushing this idiotic idea.

The best proof of the stupidity of arming oneself for safety is Nancy Lanza, the mother of crazy killer, Adam Lanza. Just like Christine Craft, Nancy Lanza believed that the best way to keep herself and family safe was to be well armed. As a result, Nancy Lanza is dead, her son (alleged asperger's suffer) Adam Lanza is dead, and twenty five other innocent young children and their teachers were viciously killed.

Christine, if you seriously believe that arming everyone else to protect the public from people with guns makes more sense than controlling distribution of horrendous killing machines, I seriously question your sanity.

Congratulations on your knowledge of guns and aperger's. You still sound angry, bitter, and unhinged.

      Delete
    5. Agreed. Christine sounds like one of those hags in suburbia who is scared of her own shadow. She's ready to honker down in her panic room with her gun arsenal for protection because ”by golly the world is a crazy place”.

    6. And 300 pm and the like...She also has Pitt Bulls. One step from hosting a KSFO show!

    7. I've never seen anyone "honker" down. How does one do that?
Wayne and I are snug as bugs in rugs in our little cabin, america's cutest new couple. I don't think it'll last though. Wayne is high on hunting, which disgusts me. The conflation of religion and guns leaves me totally cold, as well.

One question though, you anonymous and fair and balanced types who accuse me of bitter, ancient, haggish insistence on self-protection, did you want to give us your names, so the bad guys would know you refuse to defend yourselves? I don't think so. I also think the majority of people reading and posting on this blog own semi-automatic weapons.

      Delete
    8. Christine has neglected to mention she was a big loser in the law suit she bought claiming she was dismissed from her last significant job in broadcasting because of age and gender discrimination.

That's at least as relevant to this discussion as her persistent nonsense about asberger's and autism. Perhaps that explains the chip on her shoulder, all the anger and bitterness.

      Delete
  25. Christine, the problem with arming someone at a school is that it will not end there. Those predisposed to a mass attack will then move to Karate schools or Boy/Girl Scout meetings or Soccer fields or Little League games or Dance schools. The idea has merit but will not end the madness. The madness will just move to the next defenseless venue.

  26. Monte is far, far more fascinated with his own opinions than those in his listening audience. Christine at least is very intelligent, interesting, and knows how to have a discussion with callers, at least most of the time. I have listened to her for years and I either love her or hate her. I disagree with her take on this gun issue by a million miles. Guns and pit bulls, I don't agree with her opinions, especially guns and magazines that allow mass killing in a short period of time. Having armed security at every school is impossible. The same people, for the most part, that agree with this, also want limited government and very low taxes so who would be paying for the security and the weaponry? It's just a stupid idea for most schools. There are too many entries to get into schools. What about theaters and shopping malls? I would have liked to have heard her show on Aspergers, but I thought Monte was on, so I didn't listen to the radio.

    1. Pitbulls AND full bore, intense, protective German Shepherds..
I urge everyone with a good heart to consider adopting one of the magnificent shelter dogs facing certain execution. These dogs , often from foreclosure situations, can at least alert you someone is trying to break into your house. This can give you valuable time to seek a defensive weapon, be it semi-automatic or Louisville Slugger(always effective). All the doggies want in return is some affection, a warm place to sleep and good food and water. Take back the shoot-em-up " call to duty " and " kindergarten killers" video games . Instead, consider rescuing a best friend for Christmas, one who could save your life. What do you say?

      Delete
    2. It is wonderful to rescue a dog and provide a good home. Less aggressive dogs will also bark and you don't have to worry about them going on a sudden, violent attack against a neighbor dog or child. However, if you want a Pitbull be sure you know how to control and train the dog and that you are the kind of person who doesn't get lax with gates and leaving the front door open forgetting that you have that "type" of dog. I know Pitbulls can be really sweet, but these dogs are not for just anybody. Christine you are kind of freaking me out with the gun stuff, but do agree about the shoot-em-up videos. But, yeah people, adopt a dog that needs a home and pick one you can handle. I personally don't worry about dogs for security. I choose them strictly for love and laughs. To each their own, I suppose.

      Delete
    3. yes, I too have dogs I love..I've had many, including a chipuggle and I loved every one of them. As you expand your own knowledge of the noble pit bull, please note that I have triple fenced, redundant, segregated acreage.I got my first of many pit bull terriers when I was anchoring tv news in Sacramento in 1985. He approached me in the parking lot of the station late at night. He was hungry, covered in bad mange, and gentle and well-mannered. I told him if he needed a home, to be at my car when I got off the late news. He was.
I adopted a dog on the air on KGO eight years ago, a pit bull who had been riddled with bullets in a target practice exercise. She was left with one eye, and several distorted limbs. I have kissed the darling mug of Hector, one of the surviving vick pits. I don't inflict my dogs on anyone, nor anyone unwanted on them.If you are freaked out about me owning a semi-automatic weapon, you'd probably be really freaked knowing how many people all around you choose to exercise their rights thusly.

As for adopting shelter dogs, set to be killed tomorrow or the next day at your local shelter of choice, adopt every type and age and appearance. There is nothing wrong with understanding the security aspect of dogs as well as the love they bring and deserve. It's not and either/or proposition.

      Delete
    4. Surrounded by her pit bulls, her automatic weapons, and kissing the "darling mug" of Hector - a pit bull - Christine is probably the least qualified person in the world to give advice about living safely and happily.

At least with Hector, there's some romance in her life!

      Delete
    5. Hey there 10:10...how about making a comment and skipping the mean spirited part. Whether or not there is romance in your life or in Christine's, it doesn't have anything to do with the discussion. If you stoop to that level, it makes you look bad. I have no problem with Christine owning Pitbulls because she knows what she is doing. It's all the people who are lazy with their dog training and are looking for an "image" dog, as in a tough image that I think should not have these type of dogs, or any dogs actually. It's the underground breeders of these dogs that sell them to just anyone that I think should be stopped.
Also, Christine about your comment about neighbors and guns, I live in a somewhat rural neighborhood where people are very friendly and we talk about guns. The only one out of 12 that has a gun that is usuable (not great grandpas rifle in the attack) is my next door neighbor and he does shoot gophers now and then with his hand gun.
Big question: why the need for magazines with more shots than the police have on their semi's?

      Delete
    6. I don't have any 30 round clips. The problem with banning legitimate ones, is that they are easy to fab up in a workshop. Clips larger than 30 rounds are more likely to jam, like the aurora shooter, because of the configuration. They'll probably be successful with a law on big clips, survive the constitutional issues at great expense. etc. But it won't mean anyone is safer. For more on Hector, the pit abused by that charmer Michael Vick, see www.badrap.org. He's a great kisser. I didn't kiss him, surrounded by either my dogs or any weapons. He and Leslie Nuccio of badrap.org were my guests on KGO . The whole affectionate session between us was covered on Ch. 7 t.v. I'm sorry you don't and will never know the love of a good pup. I've never had a romantic relationship with a guy who doesn't love dogs, and that includes my husband.

    7. Anon - interesting that you think Monte is more interesting in hearing himself.

I called him once. He had said that 96% of gun crimes in New York City were committed by blakc or brown men. Something I never thought about, or thought a Liberal on KGO would say!!

When I then called him up and mentioned several problems with Obama, how he was no Pres. L Johnson and was sometimes lazy, he cut me off all butt hurt. But it was Obama himself who said his worst trait was sometimes being "lazy". And we know he plays a lot of golf, watches basketball, and doesn't like to arm-twist for votes in Congress.

Personally, I miss Gene Burns, Rothman, and Dr. Bill.

  27. There are already far too many guns out there. Gun apologists like Christine, who want to arm everyone else have it exactly backwards. The idea of arming school teachers to protect students is insane.

    1. I don't want to arm "everyone". Did you pull that from your nether regions?

      Delete
    2. Yes, you could say I pulled it from my nether regions because I was reading nonsense that you wrote, "I think it would be a great idea to arm well-trained by law enforcement teachers". And of course from there we would arm child care workers, nurses, doctors, bus drivers, clergy, movie theatre ushers, etc...

BTW, your friend, Nancy Lanza, followed your idiotic advice and armed herself for her own protection. Now she's dead, her son is dead, and 25 others are dead.

Your other idiotic claim, that those who disagree you are afraid to defend themselves, is equally misguided. The best way to defend ourselves is to reduce the proliferation of guns in this country. The most obvious fact that you are unable to digest (too busy with your idiotic autism/asberger's crap) is that the US far and away leads the world in access to guns and occurrence of mass shootings. Do you have a learning disability that prevents you from connecting the dots?

    5. Christine was fired for not being any good. The fact she's now bats**t crazy isn't helping her anytime soon.

      Delete
    6. Actually, I wasn't fired at all. I was demoted from anchor to reporter, which I already was. Two weeks after I was demoted, the ratings came out. KMBC had been number two or three in a three market station for three years. The ratings taken when I was co-anchor brought the station to number one. For the clueless, that's a good thing. It wasn't an issue for litigation under Title VII, but it sure helped give me some oomph before taking on a very difficult battle in federal court, a case which we won twice in front of juries. Are your views about the second amendment and guns based on the same sort of false information? That wouldn't make you batshit crazy, just a sloppy thinker.

      Delete
    7. Dear Jason, being all versed in radio and stuff as you think you are, how exactly do I hang up on anyone? I do my shows on KGO and elsewhere usually via ISDN. I have no control over hanging up on anyone. I would have thought you'd know that. I have had two full time"gigs" as you say in radio one at KFBK in the era where it led the market with Rush in the morning and me in the aftenoon(different points of view in contrast makes good radio). That was when I was in law school . I also had my own full-time show on a little station KSAC for a few years while my dad was with me and his care needs meant I couldn't practice law. When he died at age 92, I was able to practice full time for a great firm. I have never asked KGO for a full time job. It wouldn't make much sense. I live in Sacramento, not San Francisco any more. Capice? I wouldn't hire me to do a full time gig in San Francisco.

    8. Christine @10:00,
You brought a federal lawsuit and ultimately lost, end of story. The fact you won a couple of rounds along the way is no more significant than the Raiders leading at halftime in a game they eventually lost.

The only false information here is your misleading statement about your unsuccessful lawsuit.

      Delete
    9. I won twice in front of juries. You are free to disparage juries. Those folks spent lots of time(sequestered in Joplin ..second jury) weighing the evidence before they both awarded me unanimous victories. At the Supreme Court of the United States,in 1986, on a writ of certiorari, only Justice O'Connor said she wanted to hear my case. The brethren didn't. The results of my Title VII action have meant longer careers for many female and male television anchors and they have told me so. It also positively affected the general workplace, similarly and I still get notes of thanks for that. Perhaps you hadn't noticed that the most successful television anchor in the United States is at ABC NEWS. We are the same age. She is a woman. We have had a conversation about the positive effects of my case on that situation. I have no regrets about that litigation, whatsoever. Your assertion that I'm hiding the result of that case is absurd. It's all in my book, including the results.

      Delete
    10. You won a couple of innings but lost the game.

You're boundless ability to rationalize is stunning. You lost, the other side prevailed. The Supreme Court DID NOT HEAR YOUR CASE. What part of that can't you understand?

      Delete
    11. I'm the lawyer and you are schooling me on what a writ is? How about this, may you and your spawn never benefit from any Title VII landmark, societal changing litigation. You don't deserve it.

      Delete
    12. You can argue till you're blue in the face BUT YOU LOST. You brought a case AND LOST. Any plaintiff who loses their case understands what that means.

Perhaps in your fantasy world the Supreme Court would have heard your case and decided in your favor. BUT THEY DIDN'T.

      Delete
    13. You're kidding? Who knew? When I wrote that last chapter in my book, published shortly after the SCUS denial of writ, with Justice O'Connor's hand written annotation, "I would have heard that case", I must have only imagined how the legal process had ended. God, I had it so right. At the Supremes, the issue had nothing to do with sex discrimination, but rather two juries in federal district courts, in two separate trials who found unanimously in my favor, whether their findings should be honored. The Supreme Court only takes justiciable issues where there is a clear constitutional question such as whether an appellate court(8th circuit) has the right to toss out double jury verdicts . They take only a tiny(2%) cases that come up to them on writs. It is extremely rare for any Justice to say anything about a case when cert is denied. Justice O'Connor said it anyway.

      Delete
    14. Christine, that's great that you wrote a book, blah, blah, blah...

But the irrefutable facts remain (1) the US Supreme Court declined the hear your case (2) there is no reason whatsoever to believe that had they heard your case the outcome would have been any different, and (3) the final verdict of the Eighth Circuit Court stands: " [we] instruct the district court to enter judgment for Metromedia.

Translation: Judgment for the defendant, Metromedia, plaintiff Christine Craft loses.

  28. I think we should thank Christine for giving us an opportunity to argue our point with a gun extremist (and I do like a lot of what Christine says in other venues, just this gun crap that I dislike). The NRA have been bullying us not allowing this conversation for years. They have many members that provide them with big bucks which they use to bully politicians. What is encouraging this past week is that those of us who had thrown up our hands regarding getting anywhere on the issue of better control of gun owners, availability of military gun types, big ass gun magazines, and quantity of guns are now speaking up, writing and engaging in the argument about guns in America. It's time for us to practice having some backbone on this issue. One of the reasons the gun owners had so much power in addition to the NRA bullying is that these owners spoke up with great intensity about the issue. The way I see it, is that there are more of us who want to see reasonable controls there are of "them" so it's time for us to get intense (thank you Piers Morgan) and hang in there with our points of view instead of just shrugging and calling them crazy.
Now of course the problem involves our violent entertainment culture and mental illness, but guns are a big issue that needs to be addressed.

  29. Christine Craft, with all her guns and pit bulls sounds like a frightened little person pretending to be brave.

  30. No, Christine is, in her advanced age, is struggling to keep her progressive "shock" alive with a schtick not uncommon in progressive lib radio today. One that is failing miserably in market after market. Christine needs to give it up and regard the retirement she rightly deserves. She needs to prove nothing and doesn't fit the mold any longer. Her "shock" value has waned and she is not a player anymore. She is a fill in now for Karel on his little radio show in Long Beach. The once entertaining have fallen.

    1. I'm not a "progressive". I have this other profession which I can practice until I drop. I'm the same age as Diane Sawyer and Hillary Clinton. Karel's show airs inew York,New Jersey, Atlanta, Decatur, eureka, Reno...etc. and I salute him for putting together this network of stations all over the country. It's really fun to do and I expect to do more, similar radio. As for my other colleague, Pat thurston who was once in the army and learned how to shoot an M-16 in basic training, joined the NRA and had a permit to carry a revolver because of a death threat and then went on to be a secretary for the Secret Service, she believes strongly that she doesn't want her kids in a school where there is a deputized, handgun carrying teacher. That one point of view, and if I had triplets in school, I might feel similarly. Karel wants to gut the bill of rights by eliminating the second amendment. We all have different views on this stuff and they are genuine views. I think it makes for great talk radio, actually. I don't think any of it is contrived or false.

    2. Hence, while major groups and smaller stations are dropping "lib" talk like cow dung all over the nation. Maybe why you're not on as much, too. Hillary Clinton has resigned her position. Diane Sawyer isn't setting the world on fire on ABC. Maybe you should stop and small the roses now, Christine, instead of the smell of gun residue. Go write a nice book. Your lack of justified position is outdated and outmoded. It wouldn't fly in a real forum. Karel is equally an idiot for his stupidity. You can legislate stupid.

  31. I listen to Montemayor, although I don't care for him a lot, he is not a bad person, I often agree with him, although not always, but he is an intellectual lightweight. How I miss Gene Burns and John Rothman. Just went on KGO's website to see who would be on after Karel, thought perhaps Maureen the comdiean (who is worse and Montemayor) would take some time off here at the Holidays, and was hoping for a really intelligent fill in like Stacy Tayloor, or Peter B Collins, however from looking at the schedule, it looks like Maureen has been replaced with Bloomberg news. Really on the week-end, I will listen to some jazz instead, also when I looked for a way to contact KGO, like listeners feedback I didn't find it.
Is it possible they got tired of all the negative mail and just eliminated that feature? On a different subject, I heard Ronn say that the Thanksgiving Charities had raised $43.000 dollars, $45.000 dollars, didn't Bernie Ward use to raise $250.000 and more?
How embarrasing, no wonder they don't want listeners comments, at least not from us old time listeners that remember how good KGO use to be. Interested in comments from other visitors to this blog.

    1. Now waiting for a reply from Ms. Christine Craft in 3 - 2 - 1. Oops, no, she doesn't opine on a radio station that hardly uses or needs her services much anymore. That's why she is subbing for that sorry dickweek Karel to keep in practice this week while he's out being Karel.

    2. Hey Christine - maybe instead of drinking the Karel Kool Aid, look at what he does. He stations don't carry him live or in decent times. Most of the six stations don't carry him fully. the "Decatur" station is a 10 watt station, while another is an internet only station. The reno station has no ratings and no coverage. You have too much time on your hands.

  32. Here's my prediction on what will happen with gun control..All sorts of sanctimonious types will propose bills, some will pass, many won't. All will be challenged in the courts on the constitutionality issues. Millions will be spent. Lawyers will be enriched. Bills will be declared unconstitutional. The availability of so called "assault weapons" will continue unabated. School and malls shootings will continue , unabated. The money spent will propel some politicians to higher office. The money spent could have been used to provide better school security. ...like deputized and certified and carrying teachers, administrators and the like. pity. This is actually not a new story.

    2. Christine Craft has has said more than enough already.

Like Wayne LaPierre, she keeps digging herself deeper into the idiotic hole of advocating more and more guns to remedy the ever increasing epidemic of senseless gun violence.

Who cares about her predictions which are nothing more than feeble rationalizations for her paranoid life, surrounded by attack dogs and semi-automatic weapons.

      Delete
    3. So when I predict that all the gun fury will result in constitutional challenges and lots of money spent paying lawyers to litigate those federal issues, you say I'm wrong? really?
I always take death threats seriously and I've had a few. I've been held at gunpoint with a sawed off shotgun in my own driveway.
Does that make me aware of my rights to self-defense? You bet it does.
Nowhere have I advocated that "more and more guns" are necessary to remedy blah blah blah. I haven't advocated that everyone have guns, even if that's what you say I have advocated. That's not true. There are already more guns than people in the US. You don't need to buy more guns for deputized, trained, certified, carrying individuals at schools. Government armories already have a vast oversupply of such weaponry, which could be issued for such a government purpose. I never said I had attack dogs..but if you want to believe that,go right ahead. You've not let real knowledge stop you in the past.

You seem like a hopelessly addicted poster to Rich's blog. Haven't you got anything better to do with your free time than pander you're warped and unpopular opinions about arming teachers? 2. Although I disagree with Christine, I don't agree with those of you who think the way to argue your position on guns/pittbulls is to insult her. This forum is an opportunity for us to sharpen the way we express our points so hopefully we can get somewhere on important issues such as gun control. There are many who agree with Christine and have polished their arguments, but their points can be argued if we just try harder and stopped resulting to insults. Obviously Christine feels strongly about the gun issue and that is why she keeps posting. I have no problem with that. I just totally disagree with her.

  36. What's really vile about people who post anonymously is that they can toss around words like "hag" and "bitter" without any consequences. At least if you call into a talk show you have to say these things with your own voice. Ask yourselves, "Would I say this if I was using my own name?" or "Would I be such a jerk to say this to someone's face?"

I've disagreed with Rich on his blog before and have defended KGO when I felt it needed defending from false information or just plan mean spiritedness. Guess what, I use my full name, as does Christine Craft when we post. Rich to his credit is putting himself out by hosting this blog and now doing his own talk show. If you are actually a fan of his, then I suggest you have the courage to use your real name. Free speech means the right to express your opinion, it was never meant to be done hiding behind a mask.

    2. Hey 10:44...Bah humbug, I say to your post! This blog makes it optional to give our names or to be anonymous. I choose anonymous, but I have to give credit to those who give their names. However, Mel, the rules for this blog make it okay to be anonymous so I wasn't thrilled with your holier than thou comments just because you use your name. Let those of us who appreciate your choice pat you on your back instead of you patting yourself. My gripe with you 10:44 is that you are responding to a poster with name calling and insults along with some very amateur psychology. If you disagree with the poster, make an intelligent comment.

  37. Dear Christine Craft,

You have yet to answer the simple question how your self-help commitment to arming yourself is any different than the that of Nancy Lanza, crazy Adam's mother.

Nancy Lanza followed your advice and as a result, she is dead, her crazy son Adam is dead, and twenty-six other innocent people are dead.

I think the only difference between you and Nancy is she had children.

Please explain how arming herself worked for Nancy Lanza.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I've never met Nancy Lanza, nor given her advice.Ergo, she can't be dead because of my advice. By that same twisted logic of yours, I can't be dead from the ill will of my sons, because my daughter hasn't killed me.
The Bill of rights protections extend to everyone. YOu don't have to avail yourself of them. Being armed does not mean you survive an attack. Nancy Lanza was in her bed, apparently unarmed when her son, an autistic man, shot her to death.(with not a semi-automatic weapon, but rather a pump action 22 all american rifle)He tried to buy a more sophisticated weapon and was blocked from purchase. I"m not sure why.We don't know yet. Perhaps his mother had her more sophisticated weapons in the gun safe, locked. Shehad just returned the night before from a trip. Perhaps he shot her to obtain entry to the gunsafe. We don't know yet...not you..not me.
See today(Sunday , Dec. 23rd) SAcramento Bee. One intruder killed, three injured as homeowner saves his own life, with a semi-automatic weapon. You would have preferred a different outcome, perhaps. I cheer when an 86 year old great grandma, cool as a cucumber shoots an invader into oblivion. You would prefer that she be unable to do that.. such is life.

    1. Lots of words to obfuscate the obvious. Nancy Lanza, surrounded herself with machinery of death, as you repeatedly advocate and now twenty seven people are dead.

Christine Craft's solution is actually the disease itself.

p.s. Christine, if you are only answer is that you never actually met Nancy Lanza, you've got no answer.

    2. fair and balanced.I have never advocated that people "surround themselves with the machinery of death", except in your gunphobic psyche. But ya know, I've gone from young and strong, to middle aged (gasp) and strong, and someday I might need a little protection. And I'm glad that we have that OPTION. The day my folks put metal bars on their windows to protect themselves, was a sad, sad day. I'd have preferred a new big dog, and maybe a piece... but that was their choice after 2 late-night break ins to their garage.
