Sort of 'Headless Body In Topless Bar''; SFGate goes NY Post

FLASHBACK: The Post's front page on Charles Dingle's spree of decapitation, rape and robbery in '83.

This story is one for the ages. Unintended Laughter.

Remember the scene in "All the President's Men"? A PR guy pitches a sordid tale and Ben Bradley, (Jason Robards), tells the guy: "Why don't you give (it) to the SF Chronicle!"

Really a sad post.

Not quite the infamous NY Post "Headless Body In Topless Bar", but close.

Be sure to read the comments.

  1. Red eye radio has come to KSFO and coast to coast seems to be no more? Is that worthy of a Lieberman post? At least coast to coast offered something unique and entertaining for people into that sort of thing. Rich's prophecy seems to be coming true...

    1. Thanks for the heads up. No more Coast to Coast? I'll tune into 910AM tonight (12am-2am) instead for "The Twilight Zone.

      Bye bye KSFO!

    2. Indeed bye bye KSFO! I used to go to bed with coast to coast on KSFO and listen to the newscast from 3 to 5am and then catch some of Melanie and weatherman Suckssman's show. No more! They lost the paranormal audience with this move. I'll tune in to KSCO instead. I just wish they'd stop with the shitty infomercials overnight. Nothing worse than waking up to some huckster selling vitamins. Get with it Zwerling broadcasting! Dammit

  2. Good product placement for Old Navy, too.

I think that All the Presidents Men scene not about a sordid tale, but some feature like yesterday's weather for drunks who slept through it, or some such...

  3. A couple of years ago I had an acquaintance murdered, and it was covered by the Chronicle. The comments on SF Gate were extraordinarily offensive and hurtful to her friends and family. It was one snarky remark followed by another. Sorry Rich, I don't find the humor in this at all.

    1. Rich is not making light of the victim or the situation. He is pointing out the ineptitude of the once proud SF Chronicle. I am not a journalist but if that headline came across my desk I would veto it in a millisecond. This is what happens when interns are editorial decision makers

    2. Actually I'm referring to Rich's last line - "Be sure to read the comments". The comments on SF Gate can be snide and snarky. Trust me, if an article is written about your friend or family member, you'll know what it feels like (and it's not pleasant). Just my $.02 worth.
