Michael Savage has invited me to appear on his nationally-syndicated talk-show this evening, (you can hear it live, via streaming audio at KSTE at app. 5: 30 PM PST). This is my fourth appearance on his show.
We'll talk radio, politics, the current state of culture and why I get slammed by my fellow liberals in SF because I dare appear on the second most popular radio show in the country, (behind only Rush Limbaugh).
Why? Savage makes me laugh and offers me a forum to air it out...as opposed to some of the peons here who don't like to hear me tell IT LIKE IT IS. How refreshing.
And another thing? Why isn't Savage's show on SF radio? Even some of the most strident liberals agree his show is rather funny and entertaining, but that's another story. We'll explore that too tonight.

btw-I hadnt heard Ron Owens in years and years...and just a minute ago,I thought THAT must be the Karel guy Rich rips..sounded that way. THEN,he says "I'm Ron Owens".
What a surprise to me. The guy sounds beaten down by life. The future of no more giant contracts must weigh him down is all I can guess.
I will tune in. I just hope it is not a repeat of your last appearance. All you did was kiss the guy's ass during that pre-recorded interview.
ReplyDeleteI really wish that Savage's 3rd hour was an actual live 3rd hour. The 4 segments are pre-recorded. The 1st has him reading off his Web site, the 2nd and 4th are excerpts from previous shows and the 3rd is a pre-taped / edited interview.
DeleteI heard both times you were featured recently including yesterday, and really would have liked the entire hour to be live, especially so both of you could comment on current happenings.
Most of all, I would have found the exchange between you 2 about Bay Area radio interesting. Savage himself has talked about KGO's happenings and Gene Burns' food program (though not by name) when he speaks of how radio evolves. If Savage thinks it's relevant to speak of to a national audience, why not local, especially when he tells Bay Area listeners to catch him on KSTE?
Not to split hairs, but I was curious about Savage's ratings compared to Hannity.. As of Spring 2011, Talkers Magazine says Rush is king at 15-million; Hannity is 2nd with 14-million listeners; Savage is a distant 3rd with 9-million.

Rich, why do you make a point of calling Ronn, Owens/Lowenstein, but not Michael Savage/Weiner? What's good for the goose is good for the gander. I don't find Michael Savage to be at all entertaining. He's a hate-filled, loud-mouth, insecure asshole. Nothing entertaining. I do, however, believe in live and let live, so he should say what he wants but I won't be listening today.
