KGO Radio's Karel, the weekend, (Sat-Sun 7-10 PM), was one of the recently departed Jack Swanson's final hire.
Karel, (real name: Charles Bouley) who's openly gay and talks about it frequently, (yet also mimics it and routinely chastises those who bring it up) has been a critical dud since he re-emerged at the struggling station last March.
His first rodeo at KGO ended when he made his now infamous threat against "Joe the Plumber." One could only hope that that fiasco was as exciting as a typical Karel show.
I could care less that Karel is gay. Good for him. Too bad his show is boring. It's the usual tried and forced material: Karel's house is about to be foreclosed, Karel is crying, (again) because he had to put his old dog down, (no need to e-mail--I love pets), Karel is pissed at Obama and the world, (again).
There's an endless repetition to his show--yes, it's lousy and whether the host is gay, straight, bi, black, yellow, green or blue, who gives a shit. Maybe Karel should look up the word, "variety" in the dictionary.
**Speaking of Swanson, I'm hearing he got a very sweet settlement check from the Cumulus boys. That should enable him to pay off the mortgage at his Marin home. (He's married to ex-KSFO right-wing hottie, Melanie Morgan.)
**KSFO's Brian Sussman is at it again: He called Dr. Cornell West "Buckwheat." Several times, I may add. Guess what? At one time, I enjoyed listening to Sussman although his politics are to the right of Attila the Hun. No more. Quite simply he's out of control.
Speaking of discord-Radnich is getting fed up with 'Negative Larry' You can see that by the day on Comcast. What a mess-Larry even took a poke at his other co host Damon Bruce..just a bunch of guys who think they are alpha thrown together. But Radnich almost looks disgusted at Kreuger's take the opposite views to the extreme knee jerk answers. Its just a no brainer for example, that Palmer has to play now for the Raiders-even Radnich knows that..but there he is listening to Larry say stupid things like the QB should sit for six weeks to learn the system..crazy talk.

Krueger's slimy gambler,salesmen, nature endears him to the Dickhead bros,and Bunghole,but is wearing Raddy down. And Kate Scott is getting quieter and quieter to Larry. She figures if she cant say something nice about him...

ReplyDeleteMan, what the hell happened to Brian Sussman. Has this guy always been a right-wing jack-off? Back in the day, when he was the weather dude at KPIX he was excellent, the consummate professional and well liked by his colleagues. Now he has turned into a mini-Rush Limbaugh. And while I am no fan of Dr. West, to call him "Buckwheat" is totally unprofessional and uncalled for (not to mention insanely racist). What a shame. Moreover, what a downward spiral.

ReplyDeleteSussman has been out of control for a while. He steals material from Rush and Savage, even the delivery in some segments comes out of the Savage mold. The difference is that Savage's wit, delivery and brilliance can not be replicated, especially by a dim wit weatherman. How he got this gig is beyond me. I hope the Dickey boys ax his ass of the air. Even though I disagree with 95% of what Savage says I listen because he is funny and is a great entertainer. Sussman is neither. What a mean-spirited jack ass.

ReplyDeleteI really don't like syndicated programming but if they start on weekends please start with Karel he's turning into an infomercial for himself...stop the whining...newstalk radio...remember...this issue , that issue...etc. Thank You.
