I like Justine Waldman on the KRON morning show, but how's this for a newby:
"Herman Cain Plaza," (Justin Herman), and "Embarcadero Street," (The Embarcadero). Could have been the teleprompter person, who knows?
Maybe she needs a cold one at Mort's near Doyle Avenue.

Oh, not good for credibility. I;m sure she wants to be knowledgeable but someone, maybe the teleprompter copywriter, needs to be cognizant of local street and locale names.
ReplyDeleteOtherwise, we might as well have some "regional" newscast, like Comcast channels do with sports. A big yawn, in my mind.
Having said that, I also like Waldman...MUCH more than the other KRON morning alternative.

ReplyDeleteYou're a fine one to skewer someone else's fleeting verbal mistakes. You have the ability to proofread what you write before you post it, and yet you can't type out a paragraph without screwing the pooch with your own bizarre variation on the English language. (And claiming you're "only a blogger" doesn't cut it anymore, when you're also claiming a fast-growing readership.)
ReplyDeleteCut the lady some slack. She's on the air at 4 AM, for six f-ing hours, working for idiots. It's admirable she can get any coherent thoughts out of her mouth under those circumstances. What's even more amazing is that she hasn't yet packed up the car and headed back to New England.
At first,I thought she was going to be the "serious one"..a news journalist. She's as light and ditzy as any turns out.

KRON is a joke. The traffic coverage is horrible with Kato who only does bridges and ignores everything else.
I'd much rather watch KRON traffic and see cameras than hear Sal stumble through a report, or see that fat chick on kpix show me a stall at 4am on the shoulder.. that affects who again?
ReplyDeleteAnd atleast KRON's newsteam posts news stories. All the other channels entirely ignored the Cupertino shooting, and recent quakes.
The other channels are shiny, but I need info and I need it fast.
