Cumulus/KNBR thinks you listeners are idiots--Do you care?

They really don't give a flying fuck about you. All of 'em, Raddy included. Hammer is such a tool.

If they did, they'd have canned Fitz and Brooks long ago. They have no merit. All you mean to them is revenue streams. Beer, boobs and sports.

They really regard you as morons.

Can you tell? They're so full of themselves that they told the 9-Noon assholes not even to mention the latest absurdity.

This isn't something new or groundbreaking, it's rather SOP.

If you feel like you've been jacked around, let 'em know. E-mail is good. Phone calls too.

And if they still fuck with you, tell them where the sun don't shine. And sure, tell 'em I told you to call and write.

  1. WRONG. They DO care because listeners MEAN revenue. Just because YOU don't like it does not mean it is not right. Changes are made to increase an audience. They don't makes changes to reduce the size. Yes, changes are made to reduce the bottom line but only if it can still bring in enough money to make it worth while. BTW...get off this subject. Weak.

  2. You're right again Rich. They don't care and haven't cared about anything but money since they took over what was once a respectable radio property. Cumulus Media...a joke!

  3. Way too many sports stories... yawn.

  5. Rich, What are you so angry about?

KNBR just did what everyone wanted them to do and you're furious?

You're telling us that KNBR "doesn't give a flying fuck about [us]" Oh, that's a big surprise. You're a grownup, you really think a radio station is supposed to care about you?

What are you so angry about?

  6. The only person who tells storys of how well Raddy treats the public..is Raddy. It's a running joke that callers always tell of Radnich blowing them off.
Kreuger of anti Latino sayings and Raddy...thats a big middle finger to half the bay area.
I would guess minus the Giants ratings...the KNBR hosts have almost no pull. Their ratings can't go any lower then down. No wonder they dont bother with new talent.
Bungerhole and nazi Hammer -what a team.

  7. Cumulus/KNBR thinks you listeners are idiots--Do you care?

Nope....not one little bit! I don't listen that much...don't patronize the advertisers (Amicis Pizza.....please?!). Other than that they provide programming some that I don't mind (Marty Lurie and Giants related programming, Tolbert by himself and when he works with guest hosts, and oddly enough Fitz and Brooks) some that I couldn't be forced to listen to at gunpoint (Radnich, Barbieri, Byrnes, Bruce until yesterday etc.).

Why do you care what KNBR management thinks?

  8. I agree with you except for the 9 to noon and ralph and tom, everything else is caca.

  9. I dunno... who cares, really. It's all amusing. Do they care about ME? I mean should they? It's a business, their purpose is to wrap some entertainment around GEICO and BUD commercials. Enjoy the ride, the ebb and flo, the talent, the drama, the hirings and firings... c'mon, this isn't life and death, this isn't cancer research. This is guys talking about millionaire ball players. What would you suggest we 'complain' about?

I actually really enjoy all this... it's highly amusing. KNBR is hillarious. Pauly Mac, yeah a bit of a empty chair, but so what. Damon B ripping the 'Franchise', incredible... I can't believe it took him this long to be canned. Kruger? He speaks his mind, not that different than Damon B, but maybe less flamboyant. 'Uncle' Gary? who cares...

Look, it's entertainment, both the content and the talent, the change of said talent and the Deama...

Rick, sometimes I wanna tell you to not be so snarky, don't take all this so seriously... but do what you like.

  10. Honestly, I don't care enough about the station to do any of that. They've sucked hard for years. Not only do they ignore teams in the Bay Area, they ignore almost anything that isn't Halloween orange. It's 95.7 for me.

  11. Or just don't listen...

  12. Has anyone heard the 95.7 ad, ripping Lee Hammer about the 9-Noon slot? It's pretty funny.

  13. I heard a few minutes of Gary today and he just sounded like a pathetic old man in his early 60s trying to scream and shout to be the loudest guy in the room to keep a job. Really pathetic.

And then the little bit between him and Fleming with Flem saying "we have a lot to talk about". Disgusting. I wish they left the mic on for that one and we can hear how "professional" these clowns are off the air. Better not do anymore ESPN gigs, Flem, cause the rest of the markets aren't this soft and bow down to Baer.

But hey, the Giants got rid of Tejada and Rowan! But...but...I thought these guys were Gamers? Good in the Club House? And probably had more Tip of the Caps than anyone?? The cancer runs deeper, Boch! Better call up the kids tomorrow and play them and hope for the best in September. The pitching is still ripe while they are here but the hitting needs to grow around the panda. I love last year's win but it really was a fluke.

  14. Rich, let it go, you'll live longer.
Of course they care about the listeners and some of them are dumb for listening to washed up hosts and hangers-on. Now that they have some competition I'll bet they fire the bad ones and hire more good ones, young and old (e.g.Lurie) But no one can fire Brooks; in the bay area that is suicidal. He's the Raytal of knbr.

  15. Krueger for Bruce is a good trade. I'm not unhappy at all.
So they screwed up with the Bruce experiment... but at least they had the balls to make a change now rather than dragging it out and making us suffer months of Bruce.
Now a 'Player to be named later' for Fitz trade...that'd have me ecstatic!

  16. KNBR is loving all this attention Rich. Everytime you mention their call letters, that means that you're helping to steer more people in their direction....these folks will talk about them and possibly even tune their radio dials to 680 to hear the latest soap opera. Is this what you really want Rich? Do you perhaps get some sort of honorarium for mentioning them virtually everyday in your blog? If you hate them so much, stop listening to them and stop mentioning them.

  17. I've been listening to KNBR since the early 90's. I've been through a bunch of talking heads and this is no different. Remember Scott Furall? How about the "not just sports" show? I like Damon Bruce but many of the other comments have it right - he and Gary were doomed if they spent another second together. I don't understand why Larry Kreuger would do it except it's a gig. I'll keep listening - if for nothing else because it's never dull.

  18. I only know that one time I bumped into Radnich waiting to do his Buster Brown routine before a game and I dunno if he was bored, but he shot the shit with me until he went live, and even then, he paused, "Sorry, I've got to earn a buck," and then after they cut away, he resumed the conversation right where we left off. We traded baseball trivia questions, talked about how the game had changed in the last decade, lots of stuff. Thought he treated me like an old friend, even though I would've been happy just to shake his hand.

  19. KNBR care about us? How could they Murph and Mac and Fitz and Brooks still employed! And the Giants talk about torture!

    ReplyDelete
  20. If The Game's content was as good as their promos, we'd have something here. This one is cold-blooded.

  21. 5:26 brought up a possible keypoint - Is Radnich actually burned out with his work? At both Knibber and KRON? The 9-Nooner probably has too much pride/ego to admit burnout, but it wouldn't surprise me that his "Sorry, I've got to earn a buck" comment is a sign that all of the accumulated Cumulus crap is catching up to Raddy. Too bad none of his cronies have taken Hammer to task for his White House foolishness.

  22. I met Gary Radnich before a Giants game too. He talked to me on the way to the set for pregame. We did the same, I mentioned a funny moment from his show that day and we both cracked up. Pretty cool guy to meet.

  23. Way, way too much sports. Who gives a rat's ass about KNBR?

    ReplyDelete
  24. I will not listen to KNBR any more. Gary has put on one face for many years, and yesterday I decided the image is phony. I may be naive, but his behavior in this fiasco was bitterly disappointing to me. For everyone on the station refusing to acknowledge or mention it is absolutely laughable.

  25. Seriously, GR makes the show and the 9-noon slot.

Next, please get rid of Ralph the mouth. He's a major ass kisser, always interrupting a guest's response or trying to prove he was right all along. Tom deserves better.

  26. Other then Larry Krueger, all of them sucked, the morning show is horrible, don't care about the Greatful Dead, Radnich is just a blow hole that is quite insecure, Fitz is a tool and Rob Brooks what a bore, Tolbert sucks, he can't ask a question under two million words, Ralph was once good and ask the tough questions but the show has been diluted with Tolbert.

  28. Sounds like that idiot marine 'P-Con' who sleeps in the control room at KNBR and takes meds so that he doesn't go into a maniac mode is angry again with you Rich. Watch out!
