Bruno issues apology over 'Illegal Alien' remark posted on Twitter; still rips fans

I did remove my post and apologize for my comments regarding illegal aliens. I was angry and on the air and I stand behind my comments that Bruce Bochy is a coward, as are all managers who order pitchers to throw at guys just because their pitchers can't get a guy out. All of you people resorting to name calling are more classless and vile.

  1. It's been a bad week for Team Bruno. KNBR gig gone. "Friend" Gary Radnich throws him under the bus. His 401K gets shelled and his Venice property value heads even further south.

And the indignity of it all: an SF Giant pitcher throws a pitch at the back of one of his favorite Phillies....

I think his complete frustration with everything that is SF boiled over in that unfortunate tweet. But just apologize, Tony. No need to condemn those who are rightfully calling you out. "Illegal Alien?" Who says that? "Who has time?"

  2. You apologize? oh well, that makes it ok then. Like you never said it. Or,think that way...right Mel and Michael Richards?.

  3. Bruno has always been hanging on someone else's coat tails...

Calling another man a coward is weak especially when Bruno has never played the game that Bochy manages.

Ramirez (with Whitesides blessing) hit Victorino oh his own...

  5. And calling critics classless and name callers after you unapologetically name called Bochy as a coward (A coward of what??) is a bit ironic and hypocritical ain't it?

  6. Well said Tony. Don't be bullied by some hypocritical fans. Who would (privately) agree with you if a Philly pitcher had thrown the pitch to a Giant player.

Frisco fans live with losing. There is a new dog on the block.

  7. I expected much more from Bruno in terms of his politics that triggered this, and then the lamest of apologies that followed.

It's hard for me to believe that a seasoned veteran would not have seen the immediate problem with what he said, and would not have crushed the fall-out with a well written apology.

Instead of the "counter attack" that Bruno offered, let me rewrite what Tony SHOULD have said:

"I did remove my post and apologize for my comments regarding illegal aliens. My comments were simply stupid, ill-timed, and had no place in the dialogue. I have no idea what I was thinking, but there is really no excuse for what I wrote.

Most importantly, these comments do not reflect who I am or how I truly feel. I understand the dissapointment from my fans, and am ashamed that my name was attached to such ridiculous comments. My sincerest apology."

  8. You would think Bruno would also apologize for letting a common as dirt in Baseball act of a hit batter make him unbalanced,-in public no less. That's pathetic.
