I Rip Everybody Because Everybody's Worth Ripping; Tuesday Liners

*Sports Radio 95.7 had some interesting Facebook comments: looks like a lot of energetic KNBR interns, local schleps and general misfits have begun weighing in with opinions. Hey, they've been on the air for about the length of a Lee Hammer sound drop. Wait a month and then start the bitching and moaning.

*Then there's that lovely Comcast Insider, Ray Ratto: Uncle Fester with a sweater.

*Speaking of posting comments on Facebook, a bit of advice: If you publicly rip local stations and you happen to report traffic and sports for local Metro stations, you may want to be a tad 'diplomatic' since you may never know that the entity you're ripping may be your future employer.

*Yo, KQED-TV: Why is it with untold millions of dollars in pledge breaks, corporate donations, fundraisers and the like, do you NOT have a LOCAL evening newscast? That's irresponsible at best and a travesty at worst.

*To those readers here complaining that this has turned into a sports site, it isn't....it's a combo of everything---news, commentary, and yes, sports too, although my sporting media interest has waned considerably since the evaporation and marginalization of the sports media market in this town. The once-mighty voices and faces have either retired, dropped dead, or begun a career at Comcast with an audience of pissed-off pipers and Jim Nance wannabees.

*Mystery and misery combined: KRON's Darya Folsom

*Damon Andrews thinks he's Bryant Gumbel, but in actuality he's a more leaner Spencer Christian.

*Speaking of Damons: KNBR's gift-to-God, Damon Bruce is subbing for Jim Rome on Wednesday. Bruce is so, so, so excited about this "huge" gig, he managed to tweet Ann Killion, Jaymee Sire, Bonnie Jill Laughlin, Rita Shannon, Pam Moore, Zelda, the Hawthorne St. elevator operator and every SF Hooters waitress simultaneously while still doing a nooner.

*Karel on KGO Radio after three weeks: The only time I'd ever root for 'Joe the Plumber.'

*Speaking of KGO Radio, it was just de-friended on Facebook by Farid Suleman.

*KGO giving away tickets to Usher is like the Disney Channel offering up ducats to see Don Rickles.

*KRON4 Update: The dynamic trifecta has been in serious seclusion. Not one hotel suite on Van Ness has been reserved. What? Saving up for new, fresh weather interns?

*I said that Greg Papa is good and would provide for a big name at the new sports radio station, but he's not God. The last God to grace the 415 was Bill King.

*Memo to Lee Hammer and Deidre Lieberman, (no relation): The Dickey brothers are known for fiscal thriftiness, so I assume you all know that, yes, even in SF, they need only ONE market mgr. to run ALL the stations. Translation: Keep those resumes updated.

*Just when I was beginning to think KCBS could do no wrong: Kristy Siefkin.

*Comcast new local sitcom: Where's Gary

*KTVU still leads the entire Bay Area ratings, but their numbers are significantly down. I do mean, down and management is aware as are several of KTVU's past and present personnel.

*You know the old saying when a certain guy is a baseball/basketball team's best player, that team is in trouble? Well, when Eric Byrnes is your best performer, you damn well know you're in trouble.

*This week on '7Live', audience members will twitter Brian Copeland about the fallout effects from the imminent departure of 'All My Children.' Copeland, then, will analyse the results while interviewing Erkel in front of the ABC Broadcast Center cafeteria. (Whu, whu!)

*KSFO's 'SussMAN' in a nutshell: 'Dems are evil, libs too...Tea-Partiers, Sarah Palin, Newsmax, Sean Hannity are GREAT, great, GREAT Americans!' Just great!

  2. I wish you would explain the mystery and misery you refer to regarding Darya. I enjoy watching her "skills" on KRON. Any clarity would be appreciated.

  10. Sussman is a very poor man's Rush Limbaugh. Why doesn't anyone of the right wing gas bags borrow from Michael Savage? Bashing Obama 24/7 makes for very boring radio. It is just as boring as when Sussman defended every single policy of the Bush administration the previous 8 years. Very predictable and very boring.
