Almost a Done Deal: Cumulus set to buy Citadel

I haven't talked much about this, but the full ramifications are simply too weighted and delicious to muse.

All I will say, at the moment, is to expect a TON of layoffs at both properties here, KNBR and KGO Radio, (plus a few FM outlets), which means to some of the little people and even the "bigger people", I'd be updating that resume very soon...just in case.

We'll be on this as soon as its official and report what we know.

    Would this mean more non-local, nationally syndicated shows?

    Any chance KGO's former GM, Mickey Luckoff, will buy and start a new talk radio format on another local station? Maybe cherry pick Ronn Owens and Dr. Dean Edell to jump start the venture?

    Wow, this must be a fantasy for you Rich, the 2
    stations you love 2 hate merging...You know less about this than the employees who work there do..But why not yell FIRE in a theater to get things started...as usual, You are beneath contempt.

    well they can get rid of the whole morning show on KNBR - would make me happy to see mac and cheese show hit the road and dribley too. also would be fantastic to see barbieri shown the door but i guess that won't happen yet.

    as far as KGO is concerned i'll bet christine is salivating over the potential for new opportunities.

    Rich I hope you are right about layoffs. First on my list at KGO would be Playwright, Life Coach, Career Counselor, know-it-all and all-around pain-in-the-ass to listen to:
    Dr. Marty Nemko AWFUL radio.
