KPIX/CBS 5 has hired Elizabeth Cook to co-anchor the 5 PM news with Allen Martin. She'll also do some reporting. Cook will begin working at PIX following the February sweeps.
Cook has worked at KMIR-TV in Palm Springs the past five years as the primary news anchor for that station. She grew up in nearby Pasadena and earned a bachelor's degree at USC.

Isn't this what helped to make Fox News successful? Lots of pretty people, good graphics, not much content. I'll stick to the New York Times delivered every morning to my Kindle.

I think Rich is pointing out female anchors HAVE to be beautiful-at any age. Male anchors can look like dorks and get away with it.

I saw your many faults and I want you to remember Gino as ,, you acted like you did! Sorry!! she really wasn't that good here in the desert.. how do you think she will be in a real city metro. In Palm Springs we had a big earthquake and Elizabeth Cook just went on the air and laughed and smiled, joked, rather than report. She giggled rather thought on her feet and reported. Don't think she'll make in SF long.

ReplyDeleteI'm so happy Elizabeth Cook is in the bay area!!! I recently moved from the desert and watched she and Gino daily for over 4 years! It was so cool to see her here!She's a great newscaster and has a beautiful spirit about her. You people who have made these disparaging remarks need to get a life! Just because it's anonymous, doesn't mean you have to be jealous and hateful!

I think she should be doing the 6 pm news because she is a very capable & intelligent woman, & by the way, she is also very beautiful. Its like a breath of fresh air watching her do the news.
