KPIX pulls Singletary/O'Donnell interview from their website

KPIX/CBS 5 has pulled the Mike Singletary/Dennis O'Donnell interview off its website.

Fact: KPIX is a partner with the 49ers--the station televises their pre-season games and does a weekly highlight show.

Humn.

And now the interview suddenly is taken down. Coincidence? You be the judge.

  1. Just a crappy organization. Jed York, just like his dad, has Rabbit Ears.

  2. This will be like the Streisand Effect. The fact they're trying to hide it will make people who otherwise weren't interested seek out a video or transcript, and then even more people will see that Singletary has completely lost it and needs to be fired.

  3. Comcast at 5,never mentioned it.The biggest story of the day and Greg Papa and the hard hitting staff of Comcast@5 didnt see any story there.Fixed!
Ray Ratto did do a column on amateur soccer.

  4. KPIX,never mentioned the interview on it's sports segment and Dennis O'Donnell was MIA. I find the total lack of a journalistic backbone by O'Donnell and mainly KPIX news,as a total sellout by a man who remembers Woodward and Bernstein's heyday. A major CBS affiliate censoring to make an unstable football coach satisfied. Incredible.

  6. It's still easy to find the video. I googled "Mike Singletary Dennis O'Donnell interview" and got several video links.

I don't think Singletary became unhinged. He just made it clear that there were certain things he wasn't going to discuss anymore.

I'm not sure I'd want to work for a boss like Singletary, though.

  7. Dennis is off on Fridays. Kim Coyle anchors on Friday normally.

  8. The 49ers didnt deny they had anything to do with the clip being taken down. ch5 is mum. When a lousy football coach gets a CBS news team to back down, what a black eye for local media.
I guess if 60 Minutes does a story on Singletary,ch5 will go off the air for 15 minutes?..what shame on KPIX.

  9. I am tired of his act so Jed "the kid" York better fire him asap or he will punch a reporter sooner or later and I bet on the sooner.

  10. it's a shame when a local sports team can dictate what a "news station" can air. It would be one thing if the team were great. kpix drops the ball here

  11. It's painfully evident that hiring a head coach without proper experience can cause problems (see Singletary, J.Zorn). It's also evident that the organization has problems with damage control when there is a problem, either real or perceived, with the press. It's probably incorrect, but the public perception is one of dysfunction. Talk less and coach football.

  12. The problem with the Yorks 49er Ownership is, that they are "Control Freaks." The Yorks want to Own the team, be the President of the team, the GM of the team, control the message, Spin like crazy, Hype the team up, and spread Propaganda. This Rich is a recipe for failure, and so it has occurred, and will continue to occur. Until the Yorks sell the 49ers, and go back to Youngstown Ohio, were they are already located at.

Dennis O'Donnell is a Shill for the Yorks, he will not say ANYTHING related to the truth about the disarray the 49er organization is in. Thats why Singletary's behavior during the interview with O'Donnell puzzles me.
