Kosir didn't 'quit on SF'; Warriors media day gets derailed by 49ers; Tuesday rundown

You're hearing that KRON's 'weather rapper'-hire, Nick Kosir, "quit on SF" and tried to maneuver his wife into a gig at the SF independent; not so, according to a reliable local insider who told me that Kosir simply wasn't "impressed" with KRON's plans and jolted at the last minute.

Gotta chuckle at this doozy:

"KRON's general manager, Brian Greif, is seething, charging Kosir with pulling off "the most unprofessional thing I've seen in 28 years in the business."

Touche, Greif, maybe you're not aware of your very own "unprofessional things" that are routinely played out on a daily basis? Maybe you outta mind the store over there before accusing others of acting unprofessional.

**The Warriors held their annual media day, Monday, at the team's swank headquarters and practice facility in Downtown Oakland. Despite all the news emanating from Santa Clara with the 49ers/Jimmy Raye/Singletary la-affair, a rather large contingent was on hand, (I'm guessing the free buffet had absolutely nothing to do with it) Love the new logo and Keith Smart !

**Giants Prez, Larry Baer, was reportedly scheduled to appear on Smurph and Krap, this morning, to inform fans that his baseball team was involved in a pennant race and that, hopefully, KNBR, would pause from the 49ers news. Give it one more day, Larry, and I'm sure you'll be back on the front page.

**KGO Radio's AM-drive newser, Ed Baxter, had knee-replacement surgery and is expected to be out a few weeks.

**About time for a massive "team coverage" from Walnut Creek and Livermore for the heat wave currently invading the Bay region. I tried to personally "team coverage" my latest date, but she managed to get away and flee back to Berkeley.

**113 in LA: OK, now THAT'S worthy of team coverage.

**Dear Dan Rosenheim: "Can't we all just get along?" (Until the next time you guys manage to make yourselves look pretty weak--paging Yahoo!)

**A lovely business indeed: while the local lemmings concentrated mightily on the overblown "Folsom St. Fair", (Zzz), other news went largely unreported, but that seems to be the norm lately.

**A new KQED docudrama: Deconstructing Jimmy Raye? Nope, but it could get a few more viewers from the latest pledge break.

  1. Any chance you might actually talk to the guy? I never heard of anybody being hired..looks around when he get's here, and just quits an on air job. Or, maybe he saw Radnich's persona and his hip hopping @60 act,saw himself doing the same at that age..and it changed his life's plan to end up like that. Sort of,but for the grace of God go I in my elderly years too..
