KGO's Walcoff newstalk Saturday proves entertaining and informative

Rich Walcoff--KGO radio's veteran sports director, (he's been at 900 Front for 26 years) hosted a new newstalk show, (1-4 PM Saturday) and hit a home run in the non-toy dept. as he swiftly anchored three hours on topics ranging from Oakland news to an author dealing with one of the Watergate burglars.

Walcoff occasionally hosts the travel show on Saturday morning, but Saturday's "matinee voyage" was his first newstalk venture and he proved to be quite capable, informative, and most importantly, entertaining.

Most impressively was Walcoff's interviewing--its a wonder why he hasn't subbed for any of KGO's regulars, but maybe Saturday's three-hour program will get him more time on the KGO ledger.
