Anchorless TV news in SF?

Could you envision an anchorless TV news station here in SF?

They're trying it out in Houston, albeit a station with low ratings.

Something to ponder on a gray Friday. Go ponder.

  1. If they could show games without play-by-play announcers, that would be more interesting!

  2. I guess I understand this concept. When I was in collge in Oxford, Ohio, we watched the Al Schottelkotte news at 6 & 11 PM on WCPO TV in Cincinnati, Ohio. This was the closest thing to 'anchorless' news I have ever seen. The news was presented in a rapid fire series of tape of various events, with Mr. Schottelkotte providing the voiceover; there were no reporters, and you only saw Mr.Schottelkotte for about 30 seconds at the beginning and end of the broadcast.

  3. The anchors are so unnecessary. Make those people go get their real estate licenses or engage in some other profession where whitened teeth are a necessity.

  4. That's what Newspapers and now the Internet is for. I think people want people for news-heck,If that would work why would weather channel bother to have any anchors?-they could do like those accuweather channels..and get no rateings also.
