He owned houses worth several millions of dollars that he sold and moved to Arizona. He had union insurance. I don't know the ins and outs of that or whether he still has it. But I imagine that if he doesn't, Medicare and a supplement would take care of most or all of his medical expenses.
Here's where I'm going to get kicked by some: Ronn used to talk about horse racing and going to Golden Gate Fields (maybe Bay Meadows too, I don't remember). There was some scuttlebutt (that he admitted to) that maybe he had a gambling problem. I hate to mention it because it seems insensitive. But he's the one who first mentioned it. I'd rather not enable gamblers with the gofundme donations. And KGO becoming a gambling station (a terrible idea) helps no one. (I haven't listened to it since that day 3 years ago or so.)
The bottom line though is I wish him, and everyone frankly, peace and the easiest exit from this life that we can get. No one deserves years of suffering.

We don't know his insurance history. Perhaps he tried to switch to traditional medicare from an advantage plan and got hit with underwriting. Long Term care is not covered in traditional medicare. If you try to get it later in life it can be very expensive and dry up quickly depending. If you go on Medicaid you can't have extra income. His current income may be the threshold. Maybe he is worried about having his wife be left penniless once he is out of the picture. Lots of things we don't know

Where is that money now? Where did she get it? She doesn’t work. She’s under criminal investigation now. This is a very odd time for Ronn to beg the community for money.
4:42 PM the situation with his daughter definitely casts a different light on all of this. She is apparently lawsuit-happy and most seem without merit.

The family still owns the horse farm Quartet Farms in Ocala FL. They could certainly use that to offset their expenses, be it the land, horses or leases. I find it so suspect that this is coming to fruition when their daughter has to pay $150,000 in the next 30 to 45 days for a judgment levied against her for a fraudulent case where she was found guilty, referred to the State attorney’s office for possible prosecution and has to payfor opposing councils legal fees. Most of the donors to this go fund me are people of advanced age, on retirement incomes with limited resources that they cannot replenish. I pray they do the right thing and they are using this money for the right purposes and not to pay for their daughters legal matters.
I know firsthand that they have bought at least a few AIRBNB in the last year. They have also spent over $100,000 for lawyers for their 30+ year old daughter who still lives at home (they still financially support cause she doesn’t work) The daughter has been a problem financially for at least last five years. There are a few things going around that I rather not repeat but appears things are starting to come to a head. Tell the daughter to get a job and stop supporting her financially or sell your AIRBNB properties. I have a feeling he might not even be aware of his wife and daughter’s spending. There are people that have no resources or insurance. He had MILLIONS a few years ago. Seems irresponsible from someone.
