KTVU is spiraling down the toilet so fast, it’s impossible to keep up with the mess. There’s the holiday card debacle, their bizarre story that falsely asserted that Black Friday was created as a way to support Black-owned businesses, and the endless parade of female reporters and anchors stuck alongside the insufferable Mike Mibach—while Heather Holmes remains a non-factor. And then there’s Dave Clark, stumbling through every newscast, racking up gaffes like it’s a competition. It’s chaos wrapped in incompetence, broadcast live for all to see.
Add Bill Martin to the bumbling. God that guy should have retired ten years ago. When KTVU occasionally gets a competent body (Heather Holmes, Christine Rendon and once upon a time Kyla Grogan) they don't know what to do with them. Their managers fear talent and nurture incompetence so that they don't look bad.
4:56. Females in management positions, will go out of their way to make life a living Hell for other females. Women will undermine other women at every turn. FACT. Some of the shittiest and most reprehensible behavior I ever witnessed, was an inter office cat fight.
KTVU is an absolute joke. I stopped watching a couple years ago and haven't missed them for a second. Reading the comments on this site about all their latest follies and missteps is just further proof that I made the choice to leave them in the dust. Good riddance!
8:15, and as expected, rich is completely silent on ktvu saying Black Friday was created to support black buisnesses yet he's posted yet more videos about knbr and kcbs
I awaken early and hear the same damned news on the half hour from 6-9. All stations. I tune in after 5pm, hear most of the same damned stories on the half hour 5-8. Yes It is tragic that a college kid killed his friends in Piedmont but do I need to hear it rehashed every day for 8 straight days? That’s lousy and lazy reporting. Similarly, some kids had their car stolen with all the stuff they needed for the new baby. I just hope the baby grows up to be smarter than its parents. 7 days later, still hustling money via go fund me (8% off the top for the privilege).
1:20 PM, I couldn’t agree more. Just one day before the Piedmont crash that killed three wealthy, white residents in a Cybertruck, a fatal DUI crash in San Francisco claimed the lives of two women of color in a lower socioeconomic neighborhood. KTVU didn’t bother to report it, not even a mention on their website.
Eight days of coverage for one tragedy, total silence for the other. The difference? Wealth, race, and social status. Coincidence? I don’t think so.
@ 7:50 Totally agree, wealth and skin color has its privileges, I too was tired of over coverage of the tragedy, yes any lives lost is tragic but not reporting certain incidents due to less influential area is unconscionable
@7:50pm Thank you for illuminating the strange attitude of KTVU/FOX. Still reporting it as if something changed, except of course, now statements by folks in the neighborhood. The poor folks in SF don’t rate a story because they lack ca$h and an $85000 cybertruck (whatever that means?).
As Jack Webb opined, “just the facts Mam”. No new facts? Stop pretending there’s something new to report.
I just checked KTVU's website, and 7:50’s comment checks out. Every other local news outlet (TV and online) has coverage of the DUI crash that killed two women in SF the day before the Piedmont crash. What’s crazy is the SF driver was 21, practically the same age as the Piedmont driver and victims. Clearly, whoever was handling press releases at KTVU on that day was asleep at the wheel. Further proof KTVU can't even be considered real journalism anymore.
“Yes It is tragic that a college kid killed his friends in Piedmont but do I need to hear it rehashed every day for 8 straight days? That’s lousy and lazy reporting.”
Wrong, it’s not lazy reporting. It’s no budget. See that thing in your hand. (That other thing…) That’s stealing all the advertising dollars from TV and radio. So they have to stretch 20 minutes worth of news into four hours, and then fill in the rest with Like It Or Not. And the Piedmont accident was not a tragedy. It was sine kids of rich parents who thingy they were immoral. Parents are to blame, not Piedmont and not anyone else. I’m just glad they didn’t take any innocents with them. So often that’s the case. The parents should learn something from this but they won’t. They’ll just lay the blame elsewhere and continue to avoid any self-reflection.
“Eight days of coverage for one tragedy, total silence for the other. The difference? Wealth, race, and social status. Coincidence? I don’t think so.”
They cover what they get on the wires and police reports. There isn’t some grand conspiracy where they check everyone’s socioeconomic status before sending out a reporter.
If this other story really happened (and I can’t find any proof of it—you sure you’re just not making it up?) it’s not getting any coverage anywhere. That could be the family’s wishes. My wealthy eye-doctor’s child was caught in the cross fire in a shooting incident on 580 and the only reason I knew about it was through insider info at the office when my next appointment kept getting pushed further and further back. No big conspiracy The family just didn’t want it reported and didn’t sit for any interviews.
It’s not my job to educate the ignorant. If you choose to be oblivious then that’s your choice. However, since you asked, and questioned the accuracy of the dui crash that killed two people in SF, simply Google ‘san francisco dui crash novemver 26’ and you will see coverage from all outlets except KTVU. Facts.

DeleteKyla Grogan left because Bill Martin wouldn’t retire. Kron stole her. We all miss her here
DeleteHeather Holmes has always been a non-factor. Ain't no there there.

DeleteI've had male managers. I've had female managers. Females are far worse, both to males and to other women. Brittle and incredible insecure.
Delete@ 3:17 Dave Clark's whistling is driving me crazy, can't wait for Andre Senior @ 8am

Delete11:38, No one is making it up. I watch NBC11 and they had a story about it last week. It was also on SFGate.
