My Two Cents: Gasia and Heather Both KTVU Lightweights

35 comments:

  1. I'm all for Heather, Gasia, Allie, Cristina, and Alex - Any combination of those as primetime anchors any night of the week, and I'd watch all the time. (Have yet to Gasia anchor any evening shows as of lately.)

    3. 10:48 PM, LOL!!! I saw a guy at a Sharks game wearing a hat that said that. He looked exactly like what you'd expect.

  2. Rich, have you ever watched Heather on the 4 and the 730? You cannot say that she is not great on those programs, can you? She is a pros-pro.

    1. She's the best live interviewer at KTVU, period.

    2. Heather is awesome.

    3. Seems like every time Holmes is mentioned she gets lots of positive mentions here, more than any other anchor. I hardly ever watch KTVU, but I do catch her on 730 if Gutfeld is boring that night. I really do see what people see in her. The Bay Area is not LA or NY but for here she is the best that I have seen here.

  3. Sorry Rich, Totally disagree, they are the reasons we watch KTVU News; they bring back cozy memories of Dennis Richmond, Elaine Corral era

    1. I half agree and half disagree with Rich's take on this one.

Heather is a consummate news professional. She anchors well, interviews well, handles breaking news well, and commands the screen with authority and has chemistry with her co-anchors (except with Mike Mibach, which says everything about him because he has chemistry with no one, as evidenced over the past few months when ktvu has paired ten different anchors with him in an attempt to find a somewhat palatable pairing).
Gasia on the other hand is an over-opinionated, loudmouth dope. A tonta, as they say in Spanish. A yenta as they say in Yiddish. The sooner they give her a one-way ticket to the unemployment line the better.

    2. @ 3:58 Sorry, disagree with you on Gasia, she has chutzpah, radiates positivity and comes across as someone you'll want to have conversation with, to each his/her own

    3. 3:58, when gasia is allowed to ad lib and chit chat then I know what you mean about how she can seem too opinionated and unnecessary outspoken and judgmental. BUT when she sticks with pure anchoring she’s actually really good especially in a breaking news event.

  4. Gasia is someone I wouldn't plan my day around just to watch her, but she also wouldn't be the reason to turn off KTVU.

    1. Yep, she gets the job done, but she's not spectacular.

  5. Gasia's 'reward' for nearly 20 years of service at ktvu is being assigned as a lead anchor on that god awful Like it or Not show. How degrading and embarrassing.

    1. @ 4:22 Shows you how almost all the Bay-Area News stations are run, no directions and no clues on how to retain talent let alone on how to increase the ratings

    2. @4:22 same with KTVU nobody Ally Rasmus who was in the rotation recently. meh like the others

  6. I think Gasia is too ditzy for anything but the morning banter and Heather may not he that sharp if the on-air flubs involving the wrong famous people with same last name and worse maybe her wrongly believed person involved I heard about are true. I realize she is just a news reader but I think even Somerville would get things better. He says she is the hardest working anchor yet how do such things happen then? I recall Frank had to give the station apologize for a KTVU anchor’s breaking news reporting etched in our memory though not due to Heather. Who knows if Frank would have thought twice though if he was the one at the desk reading the same script at the time!

You say Gasia is ditzy and then you write a sentence like that?

  7. Probably the best Fox 2 has at this point.

  8. Many moons ago Rich reported that Mike Mibach would scream in his car after working the morning shows with Gasia. I now have to wonder if management moving Mibach to 10pm was done primarily to separate the two while retaining both.

Yet πŸ’πŸ’© stays, he must know where the bodies are buried and belong to 'catholic white privilege' good ole boys club with (GEORGETOWN graduate) CEO Jack Abernathy of o and o Fox Television News stations because its only plausible explanation as to why MM still around.

  11. There is no competition between Gas & Heath. Both are “meh”. Whether they get “the coveted” 10pm slot is a non-issue. With 90% of us able to learn about local news near instantaneously via cell phone, local TV newscasts are largely rehashing news most of us are already aware of.

  12. Yea, mistyping a “h” instead of a “b” must mean I have a ditzy personality. You make any anchor look bright.

  13. This is ME,Frank Gasia is very professional and should be given rthe 10pm news no questions asked. KTVU will be making a big mistake in not doing so.

    1. Is this the same Frank ready to throw her cell phone across the set while she allegedly per him was doing Facebook live-streaming during the night of a tragic Oakland warehouse fire? I thought he was a big Heather supporter/proponent? Maybe since Heather has no clout there he is looking for another KTVU anchor insider/supporter for his comeback.

    2. That was someone pretending to be me. My opinions on Dave and gasia remain the same. Bums me out that people here continue to pretend they are me.

  15. Gasia is awful. Send her butt packing.

  16. Frank also said Gasia and Dave Clark have no interest in nor care about the news they read. Go figure his change of opinion on Gasia. Is he really still sober?

  17. Heather is pretty, smart and a reliable team player. She would be perfect for the TEN spot as you know there would never be an issue with her or a scandal. Pair with the right person and you are set for years. I just cannot figure out KTVU as you have a winner right in front of your eyes on your payroll. Rich, if not Heather, who is your favorite local woman anchor?
