Dereliction of Duty: Greg Papa is a Failure on 49ers Media

  1. Until the 9ers can get over the hump and beat the Eagles I don't see any super bowl; Kyle is predicable and no innovation to make the game interesting, the abyss continues

    1. The 9ers were literally in the Superbowl this year.

    2. ! 1:45 Ya, and kyle lost it again, 3rd time

    3. 1:45 - but that's not what the OP said. "I don't see any super bowl" Getting over the hump to win the Super Bowl would be something different entirely.

    4. From @ 11:28 A thousand pardons, meant to say Vikings, not Eagles, still say kyle sucks, ala dusty baker, always close but no cigar due to bad decisions then a million years later finally win a world series with another team , sense same with kyle

I agree with you 100% - Shanahan is just good enough to finish in second place every time. He’s had 3 shots, and he finished in the 2nd spot. I predict he’ll have a few so-so years and move on. Seems like a decent coach but one has to think even the players are expecting to get to the big dance and proceed to choke

  2. The recent Niners game had Kevin Harlan doing the TV call. No Contest: Harlan over pompous Pappa every time. Harlan 72 Pappa 0.

  3. I agree with you on Greg. I would add that the 49ers, Giants and Warriors won't win until "Jinx Greg" is gone (My nick name for him) He would "jinx" them saying that they should win it all. It is better to take Marty's even approach with it comes to the Giants. Marty would say that it is along season. He only turned a few weeks ago. Ray from Sunnyvale

  4. If you're an infrequent listener of Papa's show, then "Dereliction of Duty" is accurate. If you've followed his career for awhile, then all his nicknames and ego-boosting is just part of what he is, and it's not as noticeable to the frequent listener. His football knowledge is just about the only thing that has me listening to KNBR.

  5. Rich, you struck a nerve. Papa is always going down the “ Jet Sweep right”, which sounds like bullshit to me.
He wants to be the Wisest guy on the Mic, but he sounds like an arrogant asshole who hides behind excessive verbiage.
    “ Aiyuk ! Aiyuk ! Aiyuk is on FIRE!”Puhleeze. Grow up !!
Give it a rest Greg, or head for Vegas with hat in hand.

  6. Papa's son who works at KNBR looks like a like crazy 5150 unkept slob who lives in his parents basement. Oh ya, he actually does live there. No way that guy gets hired without Papa's nepotism.

  7. I have jumped off the Papa bandwagon. Used to think he called a great game. He made Warriors games POP. Traitors games usually needed juicing, so he gets a pass for his enthusiasm. On the Niners he sounds like he got jacked up on crank before chugging a half gal of Hills Brothers.
    Give it a rest Pops

  8. Papa is a lightweight disguising himself as a middleweight. Greg, you are livelier than Robinson, but more like Darya Folsom than Elizabeth Cook.
Ditzy comes to mind. The infantile names, the jock-speak, the fan-boy act around the pros, I feel embarrassed for you. Not sure why Jed & Co keep you around. Do you cup the balls?

  9. Is Papa upping his game at the Watering Holes of Danville, Wallet Creek? Haven’t heard about his boorish behavior in months. Was there a DUI involved? Inquiring Minds want to Know
