  1. Right on, close them all down. They should have followed Rich’s advice. Lol, actually there is no dumber ass than RL! If revenue doesn’t exceed expenses you need to cut cost. A point lost on momma’s boy Lieberman. BTW, he once had his press pass revoked I’ve heard. LOSER

    1. @ 11:27 Peace, why you're so mean? Life is too short, give RL some love!

  2. Hopefully, the ending of an all-news format at WCBS is a result of it being lower rated than WINS, also owned by Audacy... sad situation, but as you so often note, KCBS is the only all-news outlet here. I doubt, and hope, KCBS is safe from a similar fate.

  3. Speaking of radio, Greg Papa made yet another faux pas on today’s show. While discussing Team USA basketball, Papa repeatedly described head coach Steve Kerr as "whipping" his players. While Papa evidently intended to convey that Kerr was motivating the team and getting the most out of them, referring to a white coach as 'whipping' an almost-entirely black male team isn't the right choice of words.

    1. I heard that, but didn't think of it that way. If you watch the YT version of the show, Papa is at a stage in his career where he just doesn't give a $h** anymore and he can see the writing on the wall. He's very close to retirement and if he leaves KNBR, he could just do 9ers games and be just fine financially.

  6. I doubt that ESPN Radio would move to KCBS 740 like they are going to do in New York WCBS 880. Remember they still have WINS 1010 as a 24/7 news station. As for 95.7 KGMZ if Warriors left the station as a their radio flagship then definitely it could spell doom and gloom for "the Game"

  7. The Shit-Show labeled KNBR isn’t worth 5 minutes of my time. The sooner this abomination gets burned to the ground, the better.

If KNBR had some intelligent on-air talent, I’d probably listen, but they don’t, and I won’t.

  8. There is no need for two local sports stations, ESPN only station would make sense.

  10. Can we also consider KYW, WBBM & also KNX apart from KCBS which may get affected?

  11. I live outside the reach of 106.9 but not 740 AM. It occupies a pre-set on my radio. It’s the only all-news station I can receive. I’m not interested in burning up my cellular data to listen to KCBS’ stream. Finding the stream and selecting it to play is a multi step process. OTOH, finding 740 on my radio is simple - I press one button and there it is.
If the brainiacs running think they can FORCE me to listen to their stream they are mistaken. I will simply stop listening to KCBS period end of story

  12. Paramount CBS just announced a layoff of 15% of the workforce by years end.
This is the Larry Ellison playbook, and has gotten him much derision in the TECH world.

    1. Okay, lib. Acquisitions and mergers.Let's cherry pick and omit the pertinent facts shall we? The new ownership group led by David Ellison packaged an offer for roughly 8 Billion of which the Redstones will walkaway with just under 2 billion. Their film company National Amusements Inc was bleeding money. Skydance Media and Redbird Capital with Larry Ellison are assuming control of the entity. When you are losing half a billion annually, you implement cost cutting measures. Staff reduction, shuttering the non-productive studios. The industry model of old can't compete with the a la carte streaming services. It's not personal. It's business. "You've got to get yourself into a flexible frame!"

    2. You are correct Sir. The Ellison name is lower than Clam Shit in Silly-Con Valley. You can only burn so many people before word gets out, “the guy’s a pile”.
