From my perspective as a listener, KNBR Is a fast sinking ship. Not sure any program director worth their salt would want to take over the rust bucket. BUT NFL is just about 6 weeks away and they could schmooze by the lavish buffet and try getting on with a real media company. One bets whoever takes the job will miraculously vanish after the Stupor Bowl.
Yeah, it will be interesting to see who the next KNBR PD will be. Lee Hammer may be the best pick since he was just the KNBR PD before he was let go last year.
Not sure about Bob Sargent. Would be hard to give up a Niners gig at this point in time when they're on the brink of possibly winning a Super Bowl! Might not want to jump off this train now. If this was back in the Jim Tomsula and Chip Kelly days, yeah, definitely would've been an easier decision to leave a Niners gig back then. Not so much now. I think Sargent stays with the Niners for now.
Interesting point about Don Kollins with a K, as Damon Bruce used to call him. LOL. He does have history here in the Bay Area as you mentioned Rich in that he was the PD at 95.7 before Matt Nahigian. I wonder if KNBR does pick Don Kollins as the next PD, would he make changes and possibly bring back Damon Bruce or maybe hire Rod Brooks or Matt Kolsky full-time, guys who have been with KNBR before, but could help with KNBR's current weekday lineup.
I would rather listen to old men reliving their glory days than listen to two radio pros opining on Brandon Aiyuk’s salary. Their beating of a dead horse is the sawdust in the cornmeal - “filler without nutrients”. Hell to take the analogy even further KNBR hosts are the fiber in the laxative, devoid of nutrition - a lot of shit will come out but none of it fertilizer. And they pay these Asswipes how much???
Who's running MLB? The "gay mafia"? The uniforms have been getting worse and uglier looking with each passing year. This year. Straight up queer crayon looking ugly. Couldn't even focus on the game. I'm sure the players had some thoughts on what appears to be raided wardrobe from La Cage Aux Folles. Here's a thought? How about going back to the traditional uniforms and let each player represent his ballclub in "recognizable attire"? Fanatics must have been taking cues from Lululemon.

Lee Hammer couldn't run a lemonade stand, much less a legacy radio station.
ReplyDeletePeople still listen to KNBR? Kidding, right?
