  1. Will the last person at KCBS please turn out the lights?

  2. Per Allie Rasmus, Mornings on 2 Weekends is not cancelled and will be back. KTVU chose to run other programming.
    We shall see…

  3. WTF is going on at kcBS

  4. For the 4th largest radio market in the US, it's sad to see the demise of radio in the Bay Area, especially AM radio. Even ballgames are now going to streaming services.

  5. During the early stages of Covid, I thought those "Ask the Expert" segments were very informative. They still have the segments every morning, but now with varying topics. IMO, the "Ask the Expert" segments are some of the best programming on KCBS.

The layoffs are occurring at every Audacity business, not just KCBS.

  8. When I was in the business, every now and then someone from HR, usually a woman, would show up at the door dressed in black. In one hand she had a clipboard, in the other envelopes. The only sound you heard was the hum.of the air conditioning. One by one people would be called into the general manager's office. When the Black Widow ran out of envelopes, the people left behind could breathe again--until the next visit from the Black Widow. That's what those at KQED, KNBR and KCBS are going through.

  10. KCBS was the "Go TO" some time ago, alas, no longer; at present it's unlistenable, lack of quality contents, reporting, live reporters, traffic updates are horrible, used to be excellent, used to cover wide range such as HWY 80 as far as Sacramento and beyond, 580 EB to Tracy, 99 in the central valley, 5 central valley, now...good luck

  11. KPIX is a complete joke and can’t even be considered serious journalism anymore. The latest example was tonight when they reported that Alex Schiff’s vehicle was broken into while in the Bay Area. Throughout the report they referred to it as ‘bipping’ and Schiff having been ‘bipped.’ Even the graphic read ‘Bipped in the Bay.’
I realize that’s the cute term some use to describe this type of criminal behavior but why does an alleged news outlet have to adopt this terminology in what’s supposed to be a serious newscast? Why can’t they refer to it as what it is, a vehicle break-in, instead of using this juvenile term that trivializes the crime? As soon as I heard that I turned the station.

    1. What's next? Will they refer to someone who got murdered as having been 'whacked'? Or someone who was arrested for DUI as having been 'sloshed' or 'wasted' while driving? Or perhaps they'll refer to victims of drug overdoses as 'junkies.'

This is exactly why I've stopped watching local news. As Rich rightfully points out, it's gone down the toilet and into the abyss.

    2. KPIX is a joke station. Don’t get me wrong - Devin Fehely is great but I think the stories that come at 8pm are a repeat at 9pm. Sara Donchey is horrible. Ads for the Morning Edition are cringeworthy.

I don’t know if it will be after a year they stop the Primetime Edition.

  12. I always enjoyed hearing Susan Kennedy on KCBS! With all of the departures recently, she has remained the one constant so it's very sad to see her go. I have always been a fan of her impeccable timing, commanding voice, and professionalism. With her departure, all of the "old guard" anchors at KCBS have departed the station.

  13. 11:14.. You bemoan the lack of "serious journalism" in current TV news, and then go on to talk about a story about "Alex Schiff's" vehicle theft. Seriously? You didn't know his name was "Adam"?

  14. Any updates regarding the future of low rated 1210 am in Philadelphia that you can share ? If you have any info, let me know . I'm getting conflicting info on this station from people. If you have any info about what audacy will do with 1210 AM and the other audacy Philadelphia stations, let me know. thank you.

  15. A few more folks I can think of. How about Liz St. John? I find her a little bit annoying to some degree. When Darren comes in at 4:18pm on Sat/Sun she spends an enormous amount of time talking. Well don’t most folks even if he fills in do the same thing? Except if he fills in during the morning.

  16. Whenever you talk about local radio, it's always KCBS or the sports stations. What about the other ones? For instance, does 96.5 KO IT really make you feel good at work with their updated mix of music that includes N'SYNC?

    1. KO IT is SO much more lite and refreshing than 98.1 The Breeze. Why does no one appreciate this? The Breeze is my Air Supply station! If they only ran Dr. Demento....
