  1. Rich, I am a loyal viewer of your site and now your YouTube channel. I watch each of your videos when I’m able. I've been wanting to contribute to you, but I haven't done so only because I don't see a way to do it without revealing my identity to you (I work in Bay Area media and because I have a name that you and many of your viewers might recognize, I prefer to remain 100% anonymous for obvious reasons).

With that said, in my personal opinion, I believe your coverage of Betty Yu became a bit excessive. While I respect your focus on her situation, I believe there were other, more significant angles to explore. Firstly, the broader picture at KPIX, exploring why many of their prominent on-air talent disappear under dramatic, tumultuous, or unknown circumstances. Secondly, investigating the credibility and veracity of the narrative that Yu took a ‘medical leave’ could have shed light on the situation and led to some explosive reporting if you could have gotten to the truth.

I don’t work at KPIX and certainly don’t claim to know the real story, but, as you know, Bay Area broadcast media is a small world. Word spreads quickly from station to station. I have heard that there were serious questions by many at KPIX, both on and off the air, about the true reason for Yu’s leave and the circumstances in the weeks and months leading up to her disappearance from the airwaves in January. Because of this, hearing that Yu's three-month leave for alleged medical issues didn't culminate in a return to KPIX, but rather an announcement of her departure, did not surprise any of the people at my station who I've heard comment on this. It simply doesn’t pass the smell test if you think of this situation objectively and without emotion or bias. Unraveling the truth behind her leave and departure from KPIX is the real story, in my humble opinion.

But, at the end of the day, this is your channel and you're covering the subjects and angles that resonate with you. Keep doing what you're doing, but remain open to accepting constructive feedback from those who genuinely appreciate your work.

  2. River Islands must have a humongous advertising budget. Marty Lurie can't go more than five minutes without shilling for them and now Bret Burkhart and Patti Reising are apparently pedaling that swampland dump in the middle of nowhere.

  3. Listen to KNBR next week for the NFL Draft preview show with Papa and Lund. Other than that and maybe Marty Lurie, the station is unlistenable.

  4. Dopey Copes has been at KNBR for many years now. When he started, he had some interesting insights and was worth listening to, but now he's turned into the laugh factory. Sometimes he begins a show with a laugh when there's no dialog whatsoever to laugh about. It's very peculiar.

  5. Rich, thanks for the updates on Betty Yu. She's probably 'top 3' reporters in the Bay Area....definitely qualified and definitely beautiful, but you've basically given us the same update multiple times. People come and go all the time, and they owe us nothing. If she wants to share more info, great. If she doesn't want to share, please just leave her alone and respect her space and her privacy.

  7. Think Copes at heart wants to be a comedian. His Soup De Jour (weird, gross news of the day) and "Harmony" a sex robot who does betting predictions--both segments are God awful! Tolbert who's pushing 60 acts like a 15 yr old--don't know how he does that every day.

    1. The NBA “grab bag” annoys me a lot. Paying this stupid German or Dutch accordion like music non-stop during the long whole segment.

    2. “Harmony” is just a time filler for unskilled sports talkers. TT and AC can yuck it up without suffering the embarrassment of letting a silly robot steal the lame show.
