Ross is a highly respected and well regarded member of Bay Area tv history and it’s my opinion you completely missed the opportunity to lead a great interview that people would have looked back on for years to come. Some questions you should have asked: -Highlights of working at KPIX and KTVU -How tv media has changed since he left the biz -What he thinks of KPIX and KTVU now -Which local newscasts does he watch and why? -What does he think local news will look like in the coming years? -Who from his tv days does he keep in touch with? -why does he believe People are Talking did so well and lasted so long? Does he think such a show would work today, and if not, why?
Hey Rich I enjoy the nostalgia of tv and radio in the bay area. Here is a headline. People are talking about the absolute destruction of the bay area by progressive policies that Ross had to flee and seek refuge in wine country. I guess all is well as he still has a tingle up his right leg for Obama. Heres to you Ross. Make the bay area great again.
It's cool to hear from Ross. I was still in school when the show aired, but this recent story about the show sparked a few memories https://www.cbsnews.com/sanfrancisco/news/kpix75-people-are-talking-kpix-daytime-talk-show-ann-fraser-ross-mcgowan/

The background is awesome Rich.
ReplyDeleteI agree. Almost like a green screen except it's blue.
DeleteLet's keep the old background. It was real. Keep it real.

Ross sounds good. He always sounds and looks happy.
ReplyDeleteRoss was most impressed by Obama. I got to meet Obama before he became president and he was such an engaging person.
ReplyDeleteFun interview going down memory lane. Maybe a little too intrusive questioning about Ann, but otherwise the interviews are getting better.
ReplyDeleteThe new background makes Rich look like the Heaven's Gate leader.
