Rich, as a Jewish man of a certain age, I likely share many of the same sentiments as you regarding the situation in the Middle East. I have relatives in Israel whom I visit every 2-3 years. I've spent a great deal of time in Israel and the surrounding region throughout my life. I lost family in the Holocaust and, after decades of contemplating a visit to Auschwitz, finally brought myself to do so in 2018. Jewish history and the broader Palestinian-Israeli dynamic are complex topics that I won't attempt to delve into here, nor will I express my own personal opinions about the current conflict.
There is one thing, however, that I can't help but mention in the spirit of caring and brotherly advice. In your video, while questioning the mainstream reporting that 20,000+ Palestinians have been killed in this current conflict, you said that you "are sure that some Palestinians have died." I would strongly caution against verbiage like this, as it echoes the rhetoric and talking point very often employed by "Holocaust deniers" who question the number of Jews who died, adding "I'm sure some did die."
In my own conversations, I've realized that one can absolutely be pro-Israeli and supportive of the Jewish state while still speaking respectfully and avoiding tropes and verbiage perpetuated by those who seek to demonize us as a culture.
I hope you accept this comment in the spirit in which it's intended, and I wish you a great weekend.
Of course many thousands of innocent civilians have been killed. Way too many. But Hamas uses its own people in Gaza as human shiels knowing Israel planned to attack following the Oct.7th assault. They place military targets in hospitals and govt. buildings. What's Israel supposed to do? They warned the populace to leave and shelter before their attack.
Keep up the great work Rich and keep on with YouTube. I wouldn’t worry about people withdrawing from listening to you because of your opinions regarding current events, you don’t need these people.
All the fighting and unrest around the world is heartbreaking to watch, but the US needs to put a limit on how much support they're willing to provide. We have far too many issues here that need immediate attention.
Not to mention inflation is still very real, despite what some politicians are saying. Eggs were once a cheap source of protein, but they're up over $4/dozen again. Shades of 2023.
If you love the genocide Israel is committing then why don’t you move there? Stop bitching when the resistance is out in force. Heads up a big resistance act in Berkeley coming up on Wednesday let’s hope KCBS covers it
2:00pm, i thought of you the past couple nights…mibach’s constipation face has been off the charts and unlike anything I’ve ever seen. Even by his standards it’s really, really bad. He looks so uncomfortable that I actually feel bad for him. I hope he gets the help he needs to deal with his apparently severe gastrointestinal issues.
i’m waiting for the day mibach walks off the set during the middle of a newscast to relieve himself. either that or he should wear a diaper just in case.

DeleteWhat a weird morning. Glen Kuiper talking Giants baseball to Marty Lurie on a day where the A's play the Giants.
ReplyDeleteYep, it was like stepping in a time machine and going back 15 years. Looks like Marty is back on his regular pre-game gig.
DeletePalestinians voted Hamas in to power. This what happens when you have a terrorist organization run your government.
