Rich, thanks for opening up about your mother. It sounds like she was a lovely person and she undoubtedly went her resting place in peace knowing how much you loved her and how much she meant to you.
And what’s worse is that many of the ads on KCBS are actually pulled from CBS TELEVISION News (not radio), with reporters are showing and describing video element to look at….which of course you can’t see on the radio. These long format, multi-minute extended pieces take up a full ‘news blocks’ then they go take more commercials.
Rich, I just wanted to say when I first start covering sports you were one of the first people I met back in 1983 you and many of the other people who were there were very special they don't make reporters like you and those guys any more. It was more like a family back then working with you guys. Just want to say thanks for all the laughs from those days and thanks for sharing about your mom always touching.
I grew up listening to KCBS and the only competition at the time was KGO. Now, KCBS is the only show in town, and it really is good enough for what I need (the top stories at the top of the hour)
I think if I listened to KCBS for the entirety of my daily commute, I would be just as annoyed as Rich, especially with all the glitches, mostly from the KGO transplants. Since I limit myself to about 10 minutes each weekday, everything is A-OK.

ReplyDeleteLosing a mother is not easy, but it gets better with time. The key is to stay busy. Keep you head up, Rich.
