Why I "Pile On" KCBS: Tuesday Rant

  1. Rich, what is the best bay area am/fm radio stations to listen to for background noise? For me KGO back in the day, now it has been KCBS which is unlistenable anymore. Just tried KQED was not that thrilled. Not sure what music stations are on anymore. Maybe you or one of your many watchers can help...

    1. @4:37 Subscribe to SiriusXM and input 511 into your automobile media for traffic, I did that and loving every minute when driving, I don't depend on KCBS anymore, they suck big time

  2. The first 15 mins or so of every hour is worth listening to on KCBS. I like a blurb about the top stories, followed by traffic/weather, then sports at 15 after. Everything after that is a repeat or filler material.

    1. The theme music at the beginning of the hour is cool,

  3. And what do you expect to gain from your tantrum? KCBS won't change. It may get worse, if that's possible. KCBS will never care as long as they're the only game in town. KCBS should just take the feed from the network and have local news breaks at :05 and :30. "Doing the best they can" is a milquetoast excuse. But what plays in Modesto now plays here.

  4. Swap out kcbs for ktvu and this video would still be accurate.

  5. To 4:37 - Get an internet radio. NYC and LA and other cities have great stations to listen to. Really. I haven’t listened to local radio for years. Look up internet radios at Amazon or CC Crane.

  6. Rich, you are not going to find an Edward R. Murrow in a Taylor Swift world.

    1. Murrow made his last news report from London in March 1946, came back in 47, for a couple of more years.
I guess Swift doesn't compare to the Andrews Sisters either.

  7. KCBS is an easy punching bag. Lots of production errors and glitches, but at this point most of us simply let it slide.
As I drive around the Bay Area, I see all kinds of stupid driving - we all expect safe driving by intelligent drivers. But half of all drivers have an IQ of less than 100, so expecting those drivers to behave/drive somewhat sanely is pure folly.
So it is with TV and radio production, we expect perfection, but are surprised when they “underperform”.

  8. Is Pam Cook from mornings on 2 a transgender? This morning it looked like she was packing a massive Kielbasa.

  9. Rich, do you believe there is talent, I mean true talent willing to work for what KCBS pays. And NO, they given their $ situation will not raise their pay levels. Well, do you believe there is talent out there willing to work for KCBS dough?

  10. If you want to take aim at KCBS and the crap job they do, you also have to point the finger at their newest Assistant News Director and Brand Manager, Nic Palmer. Everyone who's worked there knows the deal.
