Caught a little bit of KNBR's replay of the 1982 Super Bowl. Don Klein (I think) was/is so much better than Papa. I noticed Klein would finish every play with the yard line (tackled at the 42, out of bounds at the 30, etc.). With Papa, he usually delays until the next play (the Niners line up at the 17) so your guessing how far a pass or run went. He paints a terrible picture for the listener.

Kyle did it again, loses big game, should've gone for it on 4th down, 19 - 19 at that point, needed a TD instead of FG, 9ers needs a new kicker and overhaul the defense, just like last 3 games, opponents moves up and down the field easily; Kyle almost always makes bad decisions..sad...slump continues, #3 SB losses now....
The KPIX weekday anchors have been working overtime. And I’m not talking about those who went to Las Vegas.
Ryan, Sara, and Liz were working overtime in the evening from the virtual studio of sports. Sara filled in for the 11PM Late News for Andrea Nakano (cough, it was almost at midnight). But we still had our friend Darren and as I said before now the virtual weather has now expanded to Sundays only for the weekends. It’s a possibility maybe it will be 100% virtual weather in the future but who knows?
Saturday we saw Max Darrow live in Vegas and surprisingly no Paul Heggen pre-recorded; Darren was live working the double shift. No virtual weather on Saturday morning; it was nice to see Darren showing live views while talking about the weather both in Vegas and here (similar daytime temps).
I’d like to see Sara be a coanchor with Andrea Nakano on weekends and eventually they should have a better anchor for 11PM weeknights. Question is who…can’t do Brian Hackney because there is a slim chance he will ever return. Anne Makovec would be a great anchor for weeknights instead at 11PM, I’ve seen her sub at 11pm once and she did a fantastic job!
As long as Anne is a ‘ton of fun’ she’s not getting within 300 zip codes of a permament spot at 11. You think KPIX would boot the Donkey for Anne? Lol And let’s be honest, Anne has settled into her role and perception has become reality after all these years. Even if she slimmed down, she’s not getting promoted into anything of note at KPIX. She’d have to lose the weight and leave the market to advance in her career.
