As some who worked at ktvu for years you are spot on about Haener. She just wants to be a celebrity. She could care less about the stories. Same with save Clark and gasia. They are all totally fake. And anyone who has worked at t Ktvu knows I’m telling the truth.
I really appreciate your calm, measured commentary, which is so unlike the ranting, emotional diatribes we hear from other media sources. Your pieces are so cogent and concise, never rambling or redundant. Bravo!
Good rant but it would’ve been even better if you had mentioned Mike Mibock’s strange hair style and pants so short they might as well be cargo shorts.
Broke Ass Stuart is the clown of all clowns. Attention seeking asshat extraordinaire. Douche canoe on steroids. He might as well be called Bitch Ass Stuart. And now apparently he wants to run for mayor. You can’t make this shit up.
Speaking of the mouse they keep saying Disney is the apparent company of ABC 7 like they are lecturing kids please remember every word of it. I don’t hear NBC 11 Universal is the apparent company of NBC 11. I don’t know why Frank still want to get attention, should he move on, honestly most people don’t care
I don’t see it. Did he take it down? Even after the “show”, I am not clear on when Somerville got drunk at or before the initial visit with his daughter there (did she travel with him?) and the second early morning visit after being held in jail. Not sure how plausible on line flirting only with the intern is either. Would love to hear from the brother and intern. Enough with the F you rants Lieberman. So classless and pissing off people who gave you advice to boot.
Stories about Chinatown during Chinese New Year is understandable and somewhat forgivable, but all the other 'talk show' pieces everyday is de-legitimizing news networks.
re: lamestream media’s obsession with chinese new year and their ridiculous 'best' restaurants list, right on cue ktvu managed to combine both tonight when they aired a full-length segment about Amber Lee's favorite restaurants in Chinatown. Apparently there’s no news to report so they just ask their asian reporter to talk about her favorite Chinese food on the company dime. It's official: TV news is officially down the toilet.
Kpix aired a story about “Golden Gate Bakery” and their custard tarts twice in a day and at least once the next day. Way overated and overpriced at 3.75 each.
Every time I have gone to buy something at Golden Gate Bakery, they were closed. It looks like it has been shuttered for years. Too bad they do not post their hours…
"And worse yet, if it's the same 'Amber Lee's favorite food in Chinatown' story, they actually aired it earlier this year."
Yes and yes.
And I doubt KTVU picked up the tab. I remember, even back in the "good" old days (relatively-speaking) a long-time crew member retired and the assignment desk "splurged" and bought him a 15-dollar Safeway cake. The news director at the time, Andrew Finlayson, hit the ceiling that they paid for it.
More retread garbage at ktvu. They aired this exact segment around Thanksgiving. When we went to the city during the holidays we made it a point to try the steamed pork buns Amber Lee spent 2+ minutes of airtime ranting and raving about. They were beyond awful. Drier than the Mojave Desert with only a few pieces of meat, which were nothing more than overcooked fat and gristle. Total waste of money.
Rich, I could not agree with you more. As someone who worked their way up through the minor leagues of broadcasting before getting a chance to spend nearly 4 decades on-air here in the Bay Area, it pains me to see so many rank amateurs who sound as if they’re still doing college radio or small market TV. Broadcasting has gone into the toilet. Young people, ( and older people,) are too mesmerized by the info they’re getting on their tiny screens to listen to the radio, actually read the now-rarely printed newspaper or magazine. They’re too busy texting, tweeting, , facebooking or taking ridiculous selfies, (“hey, look at me!”) to actually have a conversation with another human being, or even glimpse at the world around them. It should come as no surprise then, that IQs have dropped precipitously in this country, and that a traitorous narcissist is the favorite to win back the WH.

ReplyDeleteKtvu knows I’m telling the truth.
OMG HOLY F$#@ Rich, that was the BEST segment you have ever done!!!
ReplyDeleteRich next time you do a show like this please don’t hold back and instead tell us what you really think!
ReplyDeleteCalm down, nothing's that serious. You'll give yourself a heart attack.
ReplyDeleteI really appreciate your calm, measured commentary, which is so unlike the ranting, emotional diatribes we hear from other media sources. Your pieces are so cogent and concise, never rambling or redundant. Bravo!
ReplyDeleteRich reminds me a lot of Mike Wallace.
DeleteRich, I wish you would stop holding back.
ReplyDeleteLOL
DeleteMy blood pressure shot up just listening to this.
ReplyDeleteRich just channeled his inner Wally George.

ReplyDelete“pants so short they might as well be cargo shorts.”
DeleteLOL!
Is Mibach still anchoring from his mancave with a bunch of sports memorabilias from his younger days in the background?
DeleteYou seem strangely obsessed with Mibach's pants.
Delete8:31, no, that ended when covid ended.

ReplyDeleteFrank Somerville on a rant on Facebook publicly accusing his brother and father of racism towards his adopted daughter

ReplyDeleteWorse yet, this was a rerun. They ran that same story about a week ago.
DeleteAnd worse yet, if it's the same 'Amber Lee's favorite food in Chinatown' story, they actually aired it earlier this year.

Howard Beal.
ReplyDeleteHoward Beale.
ReplyDeleteMibach combs his hair with a pork chop. (Borrowing a line that John Madden said about Steve Young)
