Beautiful words about your dad. We all are going to lose our parents some day and sometimes sooner than we want. Your parents knew you loved them. Never apologize for being emotional. Those are your parents and showing love is what we need to do for them even when they drive us crazy!
My parents were around a LONG time….94 years each! Both had such rich, fulfilling lives and were absolutely wonderful parents. A boy couldn’t have had a better childhood. Losing them within a couple of years if each other was tough, but I was in my 60s when they finally checked out so I got to have them on my life a lot longer than most people do. Like you, I also lost an older brother to an early death, ( he passed away at age 37 after half a lifetime of drug abuse.) Life is precious and we need to honor and appreciate our parents and siblings. Our parents for bringing us into this world snd our siblings for sharing the early years of our lives together. Rich, your raw emotions and your willingness to share your unvarnished grief for your loved ones is touching. All of your followers, especially me, appreciate your passion and openness about deeply personal feelings.
