KNBR hasn’t the sports bona fides to actually be coherent, so they get cold hard ca$h from betting touts, who sucker the mentally & arithmetically challenged into bets with impossible odds.
As I recall Tolbert in the past let his host sidekicks tout the segments involving those promoting their gambling pick platforms in which you can actually place wagers. He was totally out of such essentially infomercials. Obviously, KNBR disclaimed those segments big time to avoid lawsuits from out of control gamblers. Now, I wondered why Tolbert is interacting with the latest “gurus”and KNBR has no disclaimers. Well, I think it figured it out. They are probably not sponsoring gambling platform promoters paying them anymore but rather selling time instead to sports’ information providers. Like this Dr. Bob who states on his site all data and information is for entertainment purposes only. So it seems he charges people subscriptions or whatever to be informed for entertainment. Give me a break. From what I read online, some people say he is not a doctor, did not graduate from college, nor is a statistician. Shame on you Tolbert and Copes. Sucks even more than your Harmony sex talk segments under a guise of her giving “picks” as gambling can impact many peoples lives negatively.
Completely unrelated to ABC7 and Dan Ashley, I'd like to share my concerns about more unprofessionalism at KTVU.
This morning, they kept doing live reports at a holiday food giveaway event aimed at helping those who can't afford a proper Thanksgiving meal. The line for assistance was hundreds of people long. It's undoubtedly critical to cover such stories because it highlights the need and hopefully inspires people to donate and help others.
However, my issue lies in the fact that the camera consistently panned down the line, showcasing everyone waiting. I find this highly inappropriate. Without explicit consent from each individual, it seems unethical to openly identify everyone facing financial challenges, waiting for hours in line to feed their families. While no one should feel ashamed of their circumstances or their efforts to provide for their families, KTVU shouldn't have assumed that everyone was comfortable with their need for this generous assistance being broadcast to the world.
Our church host a Thanksgiving meal. When I post photos on social media, no guest is identified. I block their faces or show only their backs. I call it professionalism.
