Barely a month into her new reign at CBS/SF, Ms. Lezla Gooden has become quite the STAR! Even the 855 Battery vets are impressed with her on-air presence and overall news moxie. But there's more.
She vvery much LIGHTS UP the screen. Already network savvy and a pleasure to watch, what a double bonanza!
I'll be observing --as will the Bay Area.

DeleteAs a brotha, I would say the apt comment would be, "too Atlanta or too D.C."- and yes some report as though they are on Fox 5 Atlanta and seems out of place here. The brotha who just left Channel 5 comes to mind. This is no shade- just an observation- he had Fox 5 all in his delivery

DeleteI believe Lesla joined either in December or January so it’s close to a year for her.
ReplyDeleteVery good reporter overall and demeanor on air. Maybe only a matter of time she will get the anchor desk. Kelsi Thorud also joined in that same month with Lesla yet sometimes fills in on the anchor desk.
I do like Tiffany Justice on KRON. She definitely took after her Korean mother, and honestly I don't think anyone would even know she has any black blood in her, as she appears to have gotten her hair from her mother. Tiffany is totally hot from what I can see.

DeleteShe is a child and acts like one when in reality, she has her own kid. Blocks the weather graphics at the end, wears ill appropriate attire to the news set. My dad & I notice that she does not follow or understand what Vern says in sports. Sure they don’t have to know much about sports, but her gesture of her not paying attention is evident that she is not interested or cares. She is rude. Move her back to field reporting, problem solved!
Juliette, Brian and Andrea as a few other examples follow better & even ask some good questions. If this was Andrea at 11PM on weeknights things would be better. Management did a bad job of placing her on the weekends, she deserves far better than that for anchoring. If Brian wants a co-anchor, start with Betty Yu.
Last weekend, KPIX had the surprising good sense to use 2 excellent people as anchors for the morning shows: Kenny Choi on Sat. & Ann Makovec on Sun. A pleasure to see them both & I'd love to have this continue (though I never expect anything good from KPIX).
